Is this a common problem on this diet ? What do you all take for it ?
  • fibresure? or something like that - in sachets?

it is common but for me its relief from the other! (sorry!)

I take flax but that orange stuff - fibresure/fibrelin or something was always in the medicine box.... think it works

I was planning on making cottage pie with swede topping for tomorrow but the mince that i defrosted turned out to be stewing steak so its simmering away on the hob and has been turned into a lc curry.

I love mashed swede (actually now I think of it, I seem to like mashed everything :o) but anyway, wasn't sure if you were aware but swede is higher carb than other veggies, you would be better off with mashed cauli or mashed cauli/broc if you do the cottage pie in future. Having said that, I used to do mashed swede to go with my bolognaise & it was delish!!
And I WILL be back on Monday./QUOTE]

Just to clarify, I wasn't telling you to get your backside here on Monday :o I wouldn't talk like that to a newbie :o Was [STRIKE]threatening[/STRIKE] talking to Focus888 - tis only when you are a regular that I feel able to be bossy!! :rotfl: But would still be nice to see you back here on Monday, or before!! :D

It can be a problem for some peeps, but I have rarely found it to be for me. As soton said, fibresure is supposed to work. Also psyllium husks. I think taking coconut oil is supposed to help in that department as well but maybe someone can confirm that??

*TMI alert* I find chillis have a 'laxative' effect on me, although I seem to be in the minority there :o You could try making Mercy's mexican fudge for your OH, with plenty of chillis, and see if that helps?? The fudge is delicious anyway. :D
  • Morning all :hello:

Up early, thanks to hubby waking me up when he got up to go to the loo at 5.30 am!! He was drinking Guinness last night, even though he's supposed to be supporting me in my tee-total month quest  I had some hot chocolate (with a couple of digestives dunked in :shhh:) so am still being saintly :A (on the not drinking bit anyway :o)

Dinner tonight is a bolognaise/chilli concoction - had one of each in the freezer - leftovers - so a nice & easy dinner tonight :D Will have mine with broc/cauli.

Have a good weekend everyone

Morning, a very nice one here too. I dont want to go to work.. sob sob.

I am so fed up again
Ah, i must be back to normal.. whinge whinge :D

Mardatha, i get a prob if i eat carbs now. I think the flax seeds in the bread keep me regular, but, was googling my meds a few days ago and discovered it's one of those that is the culprit, not the carbs

Right, better get some slap on, dont want to frighten the customers :p

Tut, tut, I forgot my weather forecast  Tis a nice one here too, blue skies & sunshine :D

As regards the fed up feeling, after my chocolate [STRIKE]splurge[/STRIKE] eating yesterday I felt really down for some reason. I don't think it was guilt pangs for eating it, just think it was the chocolate iyswim  Maybe too much sugar over-load affected my mood?? Puts me off eating any more, so that's a positive result then!! :rotfl:

I'm awake and alert too! Had my coconut oil with my early morning cuppa and then had my egg/bacon/sausage muffin thingy. Not convinced that freezing them is the best idea in the world as they drip watery stuff once defrosted. Didn't affect the taste though and it's great for breakfast on the run.

Will have some rasps and cream later.

    Have a good weekend.

My OH is on lowcarb and is dying (he says) of constipation. There is stuff you can buy that is really mild, think its orange flavoured oily liquid. We can;t remember what it's called - does anybody know ?

I buy Fibre Force from Holland & Barrett, it is Pysllium Husk and is really good.

    Hi all!

I recommend fibresure powder. Get mine in a tub from Boots / Superdrug etc. It's a bit dear but lasts for ages. Just have 1 teasp dissolved in warm water and that's it. No taste so can be added to cooking. They also do it in cap form, thats physillium (sp) husks. But I've heard that if you don't drink enough water with em they can have the opposite effect  so I've stuck to the powder with good results.

That's a point though, is OH drinking enough water? If not that'l be making it worse.

Hope you all have a lovely day!

Weather here is rubbish. Had something like the whole of the North Sea fall on us last night and it's still dribbly and grey now :(

Hope it sorts itself out soon, I need to go shopping :D
