I have avoided saying what i've eaten coz it'll spoil it for others, the chips convo was just a generlisation about growing up :p

Gaye, have to agree with sweet, your brekkie does sound really nice, mind you, raspberries and thick yogurt is nice and fresh too.

Wont mention being good today as i'll see where the day takes me

I think breakfasts are always the hardest thing on low carb. I have three that I can usually get down me... one is Total full fat greek yoghurt with blueberries and almonds, which is my favourite though I can't eat much as the yog is rich. The yog is less than 4g of carbs per 100g so it's the best I've found in the world of yoghurts. The other breakfast is a vanilla protein shake with lactofree, which is a bit of a cheat but perfect for quick mornings. THe last is when I have a bit more time, which is a mushroom omlette with chorizo and smoked paprika.

Quite often though I have sausages and eggs at work because they do them really well and a plateful is less than a pound...

Hi Sarah, forgot to say hello when you joined

Lidl Greek yogurt is 2.8g carbs per 100g, its about £1.30 for a 1000g bucket, it's called Eridanous and has greek ladies on the lid (if i remember correct) it's rich and creamy, I like it with berries and nuts too, also like the chorizo and musroom omlette ;)

Actually it might be £1.99, my memorys a bit iffy.

And it really is a bucket!! It even has a carrying handle, it's that big!! :rotfl:
  • Right, I really must go & have a shower!!

But, one more question before I go

What is chorizo?? Is it a big sausage?! :o Oo'er missus!! Do/can you eat it raw?? Is it in the chilled section?? What does it taste like?? Is it hammy??

Will pop back later, have to go shopping for school things, & that's a dirty word in this household, so should be a fun trip. Not.
  • I wonder if those cream cheese muffins are anything like the cream cheese pancakes I made once - they made me gag as well!! Still willing to give them a go though, especially with Gers' ingredients, they do sound good.

I made cream cheese pancakes and they were vile:eek: However the muffins are good. Having read most of the thread that they came from, my advice is 1. Dont overbeat them, keep your beater on the lowest setting. 2. Turn the oven off 2 minutes before cooking time is done, once the time is up open the oven door but dont take them out, once they are nearly cool put the tray on the side and let them cool completely before refridgerating or they will collapse in the middle. 3. Use silicon muffin cases (2.50 from asda for 12) the paper cases are a pain.
I usually put cinnamon in the mix as well as on top as it gives them a better flavour. I will be experimenting with lemon ones today. Will also try putting one or one and a half eggs in.

Morning everyone!! made it back into work so you can tell im better still not 100% though. Havent been eating low carb since Friday :( because of my poorly tummy. Worried what the scales say so really want to go back to low carb today. Someone suggested natural yoghurt contains alot of good bacteria which could help my tummy but worried it might have the reverse affect. Also cant face eating meat because im worried i will have another attack if its even slightly uncooked :(. Sorry been totally off track lately and it was me who brought the dreaded (C) word into this thread :S. Well done everyone else for trying different recipes like the cream cheese pancake and muffins.

Wow, that Lidl greek yoghurt sounds amazing - I do get fed up with the price of Total, adn that carb count is FAB. Now I'm all excited about going to Lidl. What a saddo.
  • Just had a weetabix as i had nothing prepped for lunch and was beginning to feel light headed! Have been painting woodwork all morning so combined with paint fumes i was feeling pretty crap:o Now feel a bit bloated but i'm not going to beat myself up about it. Just need to be more prepared.
Going to do more painting in a moment then will put the chilli on for dinner.
