I'd get to the Docs. It may well be food poisoning and if just a bug should have been noticeably better by now. I have had salmonella once, twasn't nice but it's surprising how putting a name to the prob and getting good advice helped. Don't prepare food for anyone else and drink plenty of water. See doc soon, hunni. Taking D tabs, if it is something nasty will just keep the bugs in your system for longer. I think 24hr fast would help as this stops infection maintaining in your gut. Anyway, to the Docs with you!

Thanks for your advice Mercy and G&B :) the problem with my doctor is that it takes ages for me to get an appointment so probably wont get a chance to see someone until like next week at the earliest :( so might give that a miss. But will definitely try that 24hr fast to see if this helps cleanse my body :) thanks everyone. x
  • Poor focus, hope you feel better very soon. :( Definitely need lots of fluid, preferably water, maybe even boiled & cooled down. Just clear fluids really (but maybe not gin or vodka!! :D) And lay off the nuts - too many peanuts make me go to the loo & we all know you are a nutaholic!! :D Does sound like something you have eaten though.

Oh, and try sudocrem if things get a bit sore!! :rotfl: What?! I'm a mother!! :o:rotfl:
  • Morning everyone :hello:

Tis a lovely morning here. 1st of September, has everyone said their 'White Rabbits'?! :D

Well, Tuesday is 'Fish Day' on my meal-plan, but not sure what fish I'll be having today?? We were supposed to be going to Alton Towers today but the car needs 2 new tyres (noticed this when I was cleaning it on Sunday) & by the time that's done I think it'll be too late to go :( Anyway, the reason I told you that  is that I thought we would be having dinner out (because we would be late back) so haven't bought any fish for dinner!! :o Sooooooo, the latest thinking is to go to Whitby (for fish 'n' chips ) or what I should really do is treat ourselves to some Lemon Sole from M&S & have it with something low-carb/gi. Hmmmmmmmm, decisions, decisions ... :rotfl:

Have a good day peeps, even those nursing hangovers (mazzers) :p:wave:

Good morning, not hungover, was rough last night (was the 3 sambucas that tipped me over the top ) but am ok now icon7.gif
Good job, i'm working later icon9.gif

Lost one of my contact lenses last night, thought i'd eaten it as i was munching a burger :o when i had the bright idea to remove them, searched and searched (some shape, i was drunk remember) poked and poked my eye thinking it was still in (didnt have the sense to try reading something  ) had no joy so was convinced it was on the way to my intestines icon9.gif

Anyway, found it rolled up and manky on the sofa this morning, have got it rehydrating now so hopefully it'll be ok coz the optom in work will be mostly unamused as they are trial lenses and she hasnt assessed me yet.. gulp

How can you not be hungover?? And up at this time?? When I have too much to drink I'm useless the next day (& sometimes even the day after!! :o) I just can't take the pace these days!! :rotfl:

Please note, I'm still not drinking, the above comment is only from memory!! :D
  • Hey Focus about your painful problem,

ring the doctors and tell them you need an emergency appointment. My docs is the same, they try and book you in 2 weeks later - my argument is that "I'm ill NOW!!"

So be bulshy if you have to but you need to go see someone if it has been for so long. I think anything past 48 hours is more than just a bad tummy, or "something you ate"

I get pain when I have IBS, often in the lower back, and it can be excruciating. I often massage my back to ease the pain, or lie down - that helps too.

As for anti D tablets, be careful you don't go overboard as you can make it go the other way which is just as painful and uncomfortable!

Drink Tons of water - its crap but it works

and get yourself to the docs hun!!! They'll be better assisted to help nomatter how trivial you might think it is

hope you feel better soooon x

Coz i had plenty of sleep, didnt have a very late night as we went out at 1pm, so by about 9-10 o'clock i'd had enough icon7.gif

I cant stick the pace anymore either, and i'm usually washed out the next day but am fine today as it was an afternoon session not an evening one ;)icon7.gif

Focus, Jen is right, i have to wait a month for an appointment at my docs, but if you phone at 8.30 am they usually fit you in the same day. A much better system in my opinion.

If something is a bit tmi on here, you can always pm one of us with a little more info icon7.gif

Or do what i do, remove it later ;)

    Hope you're better soon. XX

Im feeling alot better thanks everyone :) im currently doing that 24hr fast!! only 9 more hours to go before bedtime :D not actually hungry, still having pains but not as much as before so hoping this will mean i have a full recovery tomo :) had to take today off :( because didnt like the idea of hogging up one of the work toilets all day. glad i did take it off now because feel like it will help me get better tomo. i hate taking time off work.

Ok i know this isnt low carb but ive reading the egg and chip thread. omg i want it!! obviously not today though :D i might have the low carb alternative which i love to eat which is egg, fried mushrooms and burger patties. I love this meal cos its so cheap and quick when you have no idea what to eat. anyway just enjoying everyone raving on about egg and chips. Never had that as a child but i can tell its a yummy meal just thinking about it lol.

Hope the bad tummy problem clears up - but a visit to the docs is always worth it. The government has given doctors a target to see patients within 48 hours but read this from today's paper:

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-141033/GP-targets-little-wish-list.html

Today I'm doing well - sore bits have cleared up; broken the back of 2 massive pieces of work and just edging a third down the priority list until Friday :j and am focussing on the work for Wednesday/Thursday which is fairly huge, not massive but time consuming.

Talking of consuming -made some more of those cream cheesey things so stocked up for my couple of days away, and bought some more cream cheese to make enough for the freezer to hold. Am just about to make some egg 'muffins' for the next few breakfasts and stick them in the freezer too. Just bacon, sausage, a couple of veggies in the bottom of a muffin tin, mix eggs with seasoning and a litte cream (to taste - if not then milk or water will do) and pour over meat. Cook, cool, freeze, grab and go. More :j

The flaxseed oil in my daily yoghurt or cream/berries is doing me good as is the coconut oil. Bloods are down from last years' result only has room for a miniscule improvement. Can I have another :j ?
