Me again.
Had a brainwave.
Bramble tarts. :j
Like mazzers' strawberry tarts (with the ground almond 'pastry') but with slightly stewed brambles instead of strawberries. With lashings of whipped cream. Mmmmmmmm.
I really should start proper low-carb again, there are just soooo many lovely recipes for me to eat!!0 -

Bl00dy gorgeous though!!
And yes, I know, I don't practice what I preach!!

Morning everyone, another miserable summer day, dark and overcast, so it'll be inside the pub, not out in the beer garden then!
Couldn't sleep coz i was uncomfortably full, haven't done that for a long long time (was usually after a takeaway)
Have just slathered myself in xen tan, the latest tanning lotion. It gives an immediate tan, so you can see where you've put it, then rinses away after three hours to leave a week long tan underneath, looks good at the mo, hope it stays this deep coz i'm lilly white.
Forgot to add it doesn't smell of fake tan at all either, smells of cherries, mmmmm
Oh, and i'm not on a comission :rotfl:0 -
Morning all, I don't want to open the blinds for fear of grey skies! I thought August bank holiday was always meant to be a scorcher?
I'm back on induction today, I only have 5 days left at the rents house and I've decided that as long as I prepare, they won't notice me doing it. It is breakfast that catches them out the most, so I'm going to make those muffin things and some oopsies, and keep them in fridge/freezer. I'm going to make sure I eat a salad with protein for lunch and then hopefully whatever meal minus the carby veg and starchy carbs for dinner. I have till 9pm this evening to prepare!
So I'm going to weigh in this morning once I get out of bed!!
I'm actually really excited cos I have been eating so much more since being non low carb and always hungry, crap IBS and lacking energy...
Its also exciting to be back properly!! YAY!!! :TSPC5 #1651 total so far: £78.590 -

That sounds really good, where do you get it?The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
Good morning all :hello:
Well, it was lovely & sunny when I first looked out of the window this morning, but now it's grey
Got coronation chicken for lunch (leftover chick from yesterday) & having 'a bit of this & that' frittata for dinner tonight. Tis a week since I started meal-planning & it's working really well so far. Also a week since hubby & I gave up the booze & that's still going great as well!! Feel really pleased with myself. :A
That fake tan does sound good, doesn't it. I could do with a bit of colour but don't want to look as if I've been tangoed!! Looking like a satsuma is not a good look!! Let us know how it looks as the day/week goes on, mazzers.
Have a good day everyone :wave:0 -
I read somewhere a recipe for cookies made with ground almonds instead of flour, for diabetics on low-carb . Has anybody got it or can point me to it ? I'm all ready to do them but can't find it now !:mad:0

Think it's only available online. first saw it last week on ideal world (was only channel flicking.. honest)
Found it cheaper online though, if you google, there's quite a few sites, its a celeb fave alledgedly, and Gok Wan is mentioned, no streaks, no mingin smell and no orange apparently
My legs are the worse offenders in the lilly dept, and at the mo they look fab
will shower at 12 and see how much tan remains.
Had mine from sospecial.co.uk for £28.15 plus p&p thats the dark lotion and face tan duo on page 3. It is a lot but, only just more than the price of a spray tan.0 -

Chocolate biscuits in a low carb style
100g Almond Flour
35g Butter
1 ave Egg white
2 tsp Splenda
2 tsp Vanilla Extract
2 tsp Cocoa
warm butter in bowl in micro
add almonds
add rest and mix til it’s a uniform shade J
Iine baking tray with greaseproof paper
Split mix into 8 balls and arrange on greaseproof paper
(I find 3,2,3 formation best)
Take a piece of greaseproof paper and place over ball no1
Press into biscuit shape with bottom of a mug or fingers
Repeat until all flatted out
Bake at around 175’C til done. You can’t go off the golden brown giveaway as these are brown anyway J Mine took about 15 mins and were approx 5mm at deepest in centre. If thicker may take longer.
Cool on rack and they go crispy. Nice warm and cold.
These are quite filling and the only real difference with regular biscuits is they squeak a bit on one’s teeth J
I use Bournville cocoa and the results above give 1g carb per tasty biscuit,
Not tried these myself, but kept the recipe as they sounded good.0 -
TA Mazzers ! I take it almond flour is just ground almonds as sold in Asda etc? I havent got cocoa so he will have to wait0
