Thanks for your replies guys, I looked at the atkins website and I was impressed with the help there. I am going to attempt the induction phase and will look back through the thread for recipes and hints etc. I have seen people talk about coconut, flaxseed oil is this something that will help me out. I still am getting my head around the fact i can eat cheese everyday and lose weight, but I'm not going to argue!
Of those of you who have done an induction, did anyone lose anything like 15 lbs in 2 weeks?

Does anyone use a pedometer? I'm thinking of getting one of the Nintendo DS ones so I can satisfy my inner geek as well as my bod0

OO i`ve been a little piggy wig, far too many carbs for me i think but i`m not going to work it out.
I made the yummy cauliflower crust pizza, just used cauli, egg and mozzarella and put the oregano on with the topping later. Topping was the tiniest smear of tomato puree, onions, more cheese, chorizo, chilli peppers and tomatoes. Thing is i made it in the remoska and i wanted to make sure that it would cover the base so i used almost half a bag of frozen caulifloweri don`t have a ricer so i mashed everything for the base up with a fork.
Half the pizza was going to be for tomorrow but................i ate it all:o
Gawd knows how many carbs were in it but i`ve been really good for so long so i`m not tooooooooo bothered really.
Lucasmum - i`m doing atkins but i`ve been on it just over a month, started it on 20th July and i`ve lost 1 stone 4lb up to now. I`m not sticking rigidly to the 20g carb limit that i did for the 2 week induction but i`m not straying too far either hopefully.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
Ok i forgot two things, one is that i also drank about 150ml of double cream for dessert
not sure why but saw it in the fridge and just fancied some.
Two is that i found a nice new tea to try from Asda, it was in the indian section and its honey and ginger, very tasty. The box says 0.8g carbs and i get about 5 cups from one bagnice change to the camomile.
GoToGal - i`ve never used a pedometer but know some people who swear by them.

Welcome lucasmum. I haven't done Atkins as such, more just cutting out potatoes, rice, pasta, sugar etc but when I re-start low-carb (I'm a bit of a yo yo low-carber atm) I usually lose anything between 4 - 8 lbs in the first week. Maybe 2 - 4 lbs in the second week?? It is mostly fluid though & I can see a difference in my face almost immediately, not so bloated looking!!

I haven't used one recently, but did used to & loved seeing how many steps I was taking in a day & it definitely prompted me to do more.
You have probably already seen it, but Amazon are selling the DS one for less than a tenner atm.i`ve lost 1 stone 4lb up to now.
That's brilliant!! Well done Sunny!! :j
Wish I could get going on low-carb againI'm definitely getting my head around it but my stomach isn't so willing atm!!

Hello all,
Welcome to the Madness Lucasmum. I'm veggie but rubbish at LC- ing, so I'll be looking to you as my mentor to show me how it should be done!
Rose Elliot has a good veggie LC book (you'll want the recipe one) but borrow it from the library. I find just googling the foods you are allowed then adapting existing recipies worked best for me (& looking at page one of this thread for other recipies).
Hope you get over the pig pox soon GoToGal.
Right, I'm hungry now. Something eggy with salad, and berries for afters I think, although there is some melon to use up (not LC I know but I am sure it is all water and won't touch the sides )

Good evening, i've been flat out for a few hours, i didnt sleep much last night everything was aching after the wardrobe humping about experience.
Sunny that is a brilliant result, wish i could get motivated again.
Hi Lucasmum  i lost a stone in nine weeks, and had been unable to shift weight due to high BG, but twenty odd weeks in, its still only a stone as i seem to have lost my motivation and am on and off the woe all the time.. but keeping the stone off is good0 -
Sorry, forgot to say get well soon to GoToGal0

Hi everyone, my sleep refreshed me and i've been watching a film with the boys (a very unusual event, they must've taken pity on me to actually ask me to join them  ) Valkyre, i thought it was a vampire film  but is about Hitler, based on a true story.. excellent it was, well recommended.0
