Oops, didn't mean to press 'submit' then. Oh well, it is early!!
It's too darned hot!! Woke up with a raging thirst (& needing the loo!!) so I'm up & too awake to go back to sleep now. Just had a glass of water & 2 ice-pops, thinking about having a third because they were soooo delicious & cooling.
Had BBQ last night & really enjoyed it - I might have had too much food & wine!!The wasps tried to spoil our fun though, bl00dy things!! And mazzers, that BBQ smilie is not me (unfortunately) - I'm always stuck in the (boiling hot) kitchen running around like a mad woman making all the accompaniements (?? that doesn't look right but, hey, it's early ) whilst hubby sits outside in the sunshine & fresh air drinking beer & turning the burgers & sausages every now & then
Anyway, things are fine & dandy in the Sweet householdApart from hubby who seems intent on winding me up
I'm off to get myself another icepop so might see you all later.
Happy days everyone :wave:0 -
Think the new moon is having an effect on me - feel so sluggish and lethargic (same thing really!) so decided to have a granary roll with breakfast this morning. Some instinct was telling me to have some carbs as I've been doing very LC for about 10 days so think I just need a small re-feed.
Could be sluggish cos I've got a UTI - nurse sent off my urine sample as there were traces of leuckocytes and blood in it (as I suspected) so will probably need some of the dreaded antibiotics on Friday. At least with the LC and no sugar Candida won't be able to get a hold or flourish.
Not going into the office today - I'm based in a secondary school (they host my post though I don't work for the school, but used to) and today is exam results day so the place will be heaving. Can't bear the excitment of 150 kids who have either got a great result (screams and crying and hugging all round) or have got a rotten result (screams and crying and hugging all round). So, laptop fired up for work and I'm off for a shower.
Had my coconut oil - wonder what my fasting bloods results will show - and ready to go.
For those about to give up - don't. Make a list of the advantages you've felt and the disadvantages and see if they balance or are loaded more on one side. Perhaps the advantages long term (or even short term) outweigh the disadvantages so that may help put things into perspective.
Increase water, increase protein and increase fats - that's today's mantra for me.0 -
Morning all!!
Dont give up!!! even struggling while on this plan is better than giving up entirely. Before when i first ate low carb i was doing so well and then struggled with losing weight and this way of eating and quit. Bham!! Went up 5st!! ok this might not happen to you but you would or could put on all the weight you have lost. Its not worth it!!!! Just keep prodding along, eventually it will all come together. Have faith!
Its only been 2 days since ive weigh myself and im dying to know what i am right now. I only have some rubbish old dial scales at home now since i gave my lovely trust ww scales away and i jumped on this morning to find ive lost a stone and a half in 2 days :rotfl:no chance!! guess will have to wait until i can use my old reliable again. Just im so impatient!0 -
I wont really give up.. i'll be fat as a pig again in a month
Just fed up coz i miss my toast at breakfast, i sometimes think one slice will be ok, and it probably would, but i know i just cant stop at that, in an hour or two i want more carbs and want carbs all day then
I'd better make some more lc bread, i've been trying to avoid that too.
I think if i had a chef cooking me nice lc food i could do it forever, as there's so many nice recipes, but sometimes i just cant be @rsed to cook
Anyway, enough moaning  its a horrible day but i've got lots of cleaning to do.
My son has gone to get his results so will keep you posted.0 -
don't you find breakfast is the hardest LC meal though. It's when carbs are really easy to have toast or cereal is such an easy breakfast.
I think i need to make some sort of breakfast muffins that i can just grab and go.There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.0 -
Oo, breakfast muffins are definitely good. I love tucking into a scrummy cooked breakfast though! Can't stand rushing in the mornings...Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0

I do, have said it for a long time. Buttery scrambled eggs are lush occasionally, but not all the time.
I think some yogurt is ok too, keeps hunger at bay, while you think about sorting out your next lc meal.0 -
Weird most of us seem to be TOTM. I was early this month too -are we synching or something (I'm just sinking!).
Seem to have put back on 2lbs but I suspect its coz I'm bloated like a balloon. Really tired too, very tempted to have a nap. Zzzz.
Jen -I wish you would change your avatar. Each time I see it I get wibbly. Looking forward to the new film too. wibble.
Mazzers -I have the opposite prob with carbs, but thats probably due to the metformin. Think it depends on what you eat. White pasta/bread are well known for bunging you up.
Been quite good yesterday, lots of veggies and drank pints of water. No tea (I think I am having tea withdrawl symptoms!), no choccy. Give the girl a pat on the back!
