Glad you enjoyed your birthday focus!
Yes ok Mazzers I had a chocolaty face! But it was sooo good....
My body didn't like it though, it gurgled all night and had a lot of gas (sorry!)
I'm back on induction again and will be until I reach my half way point. I'm not going to cheat again, its not worth it (ok it was good but I felt crap for giving in and it is a set back)
So onwards and upwards to low carb heaven!! ha
B- 2 rashers of bacon and 2 yolk of my attempted poached eggs...
L - salad with radish and cucumber, coriander, fried mushies, peppers and brocolli with coconut oil, soy sauce and chilli
D - mums doing chinese ribs, veggie stir fry and I'll not bother with the rice
got tooth ache today which is also helping me keep my mits off any food that should not be eaten!!
I'm not enjoying the taste of splenda, is anyone else of that opinion? I think thats why I succumbed to the chocolate brownie because sugar does taste better than splenda... I wonder if I'm using too much when trying things? But I'm following the recipes
hope everyone else is having a nice day xSPC5 #1651 total so far: £78.590 -
rSoton, my little tip for poaching eggs, use a non stick frying pan filled with water, just as small bubbles start to appear, crack eggs in and spoon the hot water over them til they are cooked, perfect results every time, even my sons can do perfectly poached eggs this way
I quite like the taste of sweetener as i've used it for years, but there's nothing quite like sugar.
I've had a good lc day as i've been working and am really good on workdays, why cant i be like it on every other day0 -

Im exactly the same, its easier for me because can only eat what ive brought in and that always low carb lol but on weekends its just so easy to put out to grab something or rumage in the cupboards and end up with something high carb  its the boredom for me!0 -
I tried this yesterday and the server couldn't make it she tried twice but it wouldn;t blend and just kept separating. She ended up making something with frap base I think.
Yeah - you do end up with coffee at the bottom and loads of froth on top - the frap base has heaps of sugar in tho'. It's still nice though if you like iced coffee.Noli nothis permittere te terere

Morning all, mazzers good idea - I might chill too. Had a bowl of muesli yesterday to try and boost my loss, used to love it but not so keen now.If you only had two eggs all day then maybe I am eating too much to lose weight!
GTG How are you taking the coconut oil? I find it best to put it in a cup with a little water and swallow it quickly. Haven't personally had headache but I did get nauseous to begin with. Thanks for the recipes.
In hot water does seem the best, swill, melt, cool with a little warm water and down the hatch0 -
DH has lost 10lb in under 2 weeks, so he's feeling pretty good about himself. It's the first time he's been under 14 st. for years.
What's with the coconut oil?I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.0 -

I can only enjoy splenda in a cooked dish. Do not like it in anything mixed but not cooked. Also remember, any american recipes ask for about twice what a normal person would want.I quite like the taste of sweetener as i've used it for years, but there's nothing quite like sugar.

I don't like sugar much either :rotfl: Appreciate a little sweetness now and then but tend to find cakes and other sugary stuff just 'too much' these days. Have started to keep the sugar given when I have a coffee. Just for friends' brews though, so I don't need to buy any (very moneysaving)
Why not on any other day? Because you've decided you don't need to
I'm lucky in that as there's only me I don't have other peeps stuff to tempt me. So weekends (my days off) aren't so dissimilar to weekdays for me. Except for the enormous amount of cider of course:rotfl:

On sweeteners
I don't like aspartame as it makes my tongue feel funny and tastes awful. Don't like saccharin as it just tastes awful. So low cal drinks are out for me, I have water or soda.
Mazz - didn't mean to be harsh, I find it easier to drink more water when at work, it's the structure, I think.

The best bacon crisps
Take a packet of rind on streaky bacon.
Keeping all the rashers in one lump, cut across into about 4 or 5 thick strips (I use scissors)
Large frying pan - add 3/4 inch of boiling water, no heat yet.
Peel off pieces of bacon and submerge. Take time here, make sure each piece gets layered out individually.
Boil for 3 - 5 mins.
Drain off water then on highest heat fry the bacon. Keep stirring.
Will take a few mins then the water will have gone completly.
Keep frying and moving about. Turning and pushing so they don't stick to each other.
When all done and crispy, lift out onto paper plate or several layers of kitchen paper. Leave to drain then turn out onto another papre plate / more kitchen paper.
Then enjoy non stuck, not too salty tasty crispy bacon crisps!
Yum!
Think the water not only removes excess salt but also stops them sticking so much when fried as they are already slightly cooked.

Mmm perhaps thats where I was going wrong - putting too much in due to american recipes
I'm going to make some oopsies tomorrow and will make half sweet with cinnamon and a touch of splenda, maybe some sugar free cocoa powder too, and if I like them with some cream then I may have found something to satisfy my need for something sweet... I'm not craving it as such today just nice to know I can have something tasty and sweet and low carb - and not succumb to the brownies!!!
i agree mercy with aspartame, I get a funny taste in the back of my throat. There are some flavoured fizzy waters in asda that are made with sucralose (splenda?) and they're quite nice - a little bit sweet. Tbh though I'm not adverse to a nice pint of cold tap watertaste lush round here
