Just got back from Spain and I managed to put back every single damned pound!!!! Everywhere was bloody Desayuno Continetale!!! (Toast and OJ, and coffee) and I got so peed of at DS1 - he slept all day - wouldn't come out with me in the day apart from Tibidabo (roller coaster) and Parc Guell that I ate my peedoffedness (new word) Aaargh!

So I have joined the gym today and I'm going to swim for 1/2 hour every day I can take DS2 - which is every day apart from Tues and Thurs and when he goes to his dad on Fri I can get my induction done and go as much as I can.

Going to start the LC'ing again tomorrow with a carb starve for a week and then onto induction as usual but I'll keep under 20gs for about 3 months if I can and then start to up them a bit when I've lost the first stone. I am so going to do it this time as I have started to pee a bit more and getting thirsty so am worried about diabetes

Oh and I invented the lowcarbaccino is you can't give up Starbucks - ask for an iced Americano to be blended with ice and sugar-free hazelnut(or vanilla) and top with whipped cream! Yummy!!! Make sure they don't add the espresso mix though as that has added sugar.

Good evening, good evening, good evening, good evening to paraphrase the dear Mr Fry :)

I've been lurking and inspired for the last couple of days!

@jordylass - those raspberry muffins sound delish. Do you have a recipe?

@mazzers, do you find that shopping takes longer cos you're looking high and low for those items like soya beans? I ran a poor assistant at Tesco ragged today trying to fill my list. We cheered when we found the last item, Tofu! Took me 20 minutes longer but got most of my list for next week.

@focus888 Happy Birthday! Don't stress about it, I hear when you go back to lcing, you will lose the lbs rapidly. Some lc diets build in "carby" days to shake your bod up a bit and keep it guessing.

@Sunnyday, mmm lasagne. Getting courgettes next week so must try this. Where can I find the recipe?

@Mercy, yes, another plea for recipes, pretty please!

    @lisebutt65 - good luck!

Not much to report chez moi - got some lovely recipes from Tesco & Somerfied magazines. Not sure where to post them though? Also looking for some suggestions for replacing vermouth in one recipe.

I'll post it here and move it if needed:

Salmon with braised fennel ( serves 4 ) courtesy of Tesco food club magazine

    4 fennel bulbs
2-3 garlic cloves chopped or finely sliced
140ml (1/4 pint) dry white vermouth plus a couple of extra tablespoons

    4 salmon fillets

    1. Cut the fennel bulbs in half lengthwise and slice each half into fine slices from root to tip.

    2. Gently heat 3 tablespoons of olive oil in a pan, add fennel and then garlic. Season with sale to help draw out the moisture, cover and reduce the heat. Cook for 15 - 20 minutes, until the fennel begins to soften. Add the vermouth and continue to cook for another 30 - 45 minutes, stirring occassionally.

    3. Meanwhile, pre-heat the oven to 180C/160C fan/Gas 4. Pat salmon fillets dry and rub with a little olive oil. Season and place on large doubled sheet of foil. Sprinkle a coule of tablespoons of vermouth and form foil into parcel. Cook for 10 minutes or till cooked through.

Basically, I detest vermouth and am tee-total at the moment. What can I replace it with?

So, did everyone get the 123456789 reference in my last post?? Twas 12.34pm & 56 seconds (thereabouts ) on 7.8.09 - saw it on the news just as I was posting - it won't happen again for another 100 years - little nerdy fact there!! :rotfl:

Anyway, I am going to start my low-carb/low-gi thing again on Monday next week!! I am, I am, I am!! Have piled the weight on over the last few weeks & I feel (& look :o) fat, fat, fat!! All my own greedy fat-face doing of course!! Have been eating for England, Scotland, Wales etc etc!! Infact, any country you care to mention, lol!!

So, a meal planning list is to be written & adhered to!! I'm going to start walking again & just generally being an angelic peep :A instead of a miss piggy oink.gif . Wish me luck, I think I'm going to need it!! :rotfl:

Never mind the eating, here's to the future! Glad you had such a nice birthday! Got the ref, Nice to know it happens. I like it when you get a number the same backwards on a milometer, mind :rotfl:
'Scuse my pig-ignorance, but what is blue castello??

It's lovely soft cheese. They do it in white or blue. Totally the best on crackers :) I once won a Castello competition. Got Huge cheese board - a slice of an olive tree, super cheese knife (castello is so soft you can cut it with a casual thought :)) and 2 packs of Castello. Well it worked for me :rotfl:

    I'm happy

Got a message I have to share

    Dear Tech Support,

Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend to Husband and noticed a distinct
slowdown in overall system performance -- particularly in the flower and
jewellery applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend.

In addition, Husband uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as
Romance and Personal Attention and then installed undesirable programs
    such as
Rugby, Football, Sailing and Continuous TV.

Conversation no longer runs, and Housecleaning simply crashes the
system. I've tried running Nagging to fix these problems, but to no
    avail.

    What can I do?

    Signed, Desperate

    .....................................................................
    Dear Desperate,

First keep in mind, Boyfriend is an Entertainment Package, while Husband
    is an Operating System.

Please enter the command: 'http: I Thought You Loved Me.html' and try to
download Tears. Don't forget to install the Guilt update. If that
application works as designed, Husband should then automatically run the
    applications Jewellery and Flowers.

But remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband to
default to Grumpy Silence, Garden Shed or Beer. Beer is a very bad
program that will download the Snoring Loudly Beta.

Whatever you do, DO NOT install Mother-in-law (it runs a virus in the
background that will eventually seize control of all your system
resources). Also, do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend program.
These are unsupported applications and will crash Husband.

In summary, Husband is a great system, but it does have limited memory
and cannot learn new applications quickly. It also tends to work better
running one task at a time.

You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and
performance. We recommend Food and Hot Lingerie.

    Good Luck,

    Tech Support

    Morning Everyone

another week of low carbing has passed and it was my official weigh in day today and I havent lost a bloody ounce and in fact I'm still carrying 1/2lb from the 4lbs I put on 3 weeks ago. This week I seem to have been bouncing the same pound on and off and its incredibly frustrating. But I did indulge in a little retail therapy yesterday and bought some fab clothes and the best thing of all was knowing I'm a secure size 12 so none of that worrying whether different designers or manufacturers will fit.I dont know about you lot but it frustrates the hell out of me that a size 12 in one shop can be a totally different size in another:mad:

Eating wise I've been boringly good all week and even last Saturday when it was supposed to be my day off I still stuck to the programme. Not sure whether I will LC today it depends on my mood later;)
