    Morning Everyone

another week of low carbing has passed and it was my official weigh in day today and I havent lost a bloody ounce and in fact I'm still carrying 1/2lb from the 4lbs I put on 3 weeks ago. This week I seem to have been bouncing the same pound on and off and its incredibly frustrating. But I did indulge in a little retail therapy yesterday and bought some fab clothes and the best thing of all was knowing I'm a secure size 12 so none of that worrying whether different designers or manufacturers will fit.I dont know about you lot but it frustrates the hell out of me that a size 12 in one shop can be a totally different size in another:mad:

Eating wise I've been boringly good all week and even last Saturday when it was supposed to be my day off I still stuck to the programme. Not sure whether I will LC today it depends on my mood later;)

@ravylesley: Ouch! How frustrting. How's your water intake? I read somewhere upping your water can help.

@SunnyDay: You are a star! I've added that to my recipe list :D

My week away was challenging but interesting - the only downfall was a couple of glasses of wine each night. Didn't have enough water (could tell by the orange wee ) but apart from that managed my low carbs well.

I've been reading the 'Life without Bread' book and one of the important facts is that women over 50 years will find it more difficult to lose weight with low carbs.

Feminine (pear shaped and masculine (apple shaped) types of obesity can be observed in both sexes. The feminine type is fat below the waist, with broad hips, fat legs and a girdle of fat around the abdomen. The masculine type is fat above, with a large and protuberant belly, but relatively slender hips and extremeties. The more pear shaped an individual the more difficult it is to lose weight and, in women, unfortunately, the approach of menopause makes it harder. It is an invariable rule that the further the fat extends beyond the abdomen and hips to the extremities and to fingers and toes, the greater the difficulties in combating it by dietary measures. Some women even gain weight at the beginning of the diet, although usually only a little.

    Chapter 9

Not a quick fix, but a fix all the same. And the added bonus of freedom from the carb addiction and all it's side effects. The simple lesson I've learnt from the information here and elsewhere is that carbs = sugar = unhealthy. It's a revelation which horrifies me and makes me determined to keep to low carbs for a very long time.

Hey ho... fat going down and health going up! Now I need to introduce some carbs into my diet though I admit to a slight mental block. Off to have a bacon roll.

    Good LCing to everyone today.

    Loved the tech support letter.

I am making sure of 2L minimum of water every day and my coconut oil, flax oil, and salads, greens etc. So why don't I lose? Urgh, could it be the cream in the coffee, or too much milk in the tea ( I only have two cups of each per day)?

So peeed off I have been snacking on almonds in the evenings. Don't need them as not hungry - just 'want' something. Any ideas to help please would bemuch appreciated.
  • To the few people who have mentioned less than brilliant weigh ins:
Do you count calories as well as carbs?
How much exercise do you usually do and could you increase it?
Have you thought about a cheat/refeed meal once a week?

Just my initial thoughts of things that may make a difference.

Enjoyed my high carb day yesterday, reasonably impressed with the chicken curry I made, had a mini bottle of wine chilling in the fridge but didnt really fancy it so it's still there, amazing!

Back to LC for another 3 days, hoping for a BBQ for tea if it stays nice, that's always an easy LC meal, meat aplenty!

OH going away on Mon for 7 weeks with RAF so planning to spend a lot of time in the gym, going for walks in the (hopefully) sunshine, and eating well with no distractions.

Just had to share a recipe I got from this fab restaurant called Cheese Me in Born, Barcelona - Guess what they specialise in??:rotfl:I had the 10 Spanish cheese platter which was absolutely gorgeous and my Ds had this lasagne made with cheese - he ate the cheese and left the veggies:D
Lasaña de Manchego D.O.P with anchovies, mushrooms, tomatoes and oil of basil. Basically you use thickish slices of Manchego cheese and layer with big mushrooms, fresh anchovies ( I suppose you could soak some tinned ones in milk to get all the salt out for a bit first as fresh ones are hard to get here) and sun-dried tomatoes and sprinkle it all with the basil flavoured oil as you go then whack it oven on about GM 4 until everything's all melted and gooey - easy peasy:D Going to try it myself tomorrow

Reverse tech support letter - I knew I'd seen it somewhere - LOL

Last year I upgraded from Girlfriend 7.0 to Wife 1.0 and noticed that the new program began unexpected child processing that took up a lot of space and valuable resources. No mention of this phenomenon was included in the product brochure.

In addition, Wife 1.0 installs itself into all other programs and launches during system initialization, where it monitors all other system activity. Applications such as Pokernight 10.3 Drunken Boys Night 2.5 and Sunday Football 5.0 no longer run, crashing the system whenever selected. I cannot seem to keep Wife 1.0 in the background while attempting to run some of my other favourite applications.

I am thinking about going back to Girlfriend 7.0, but the un-install does not work on this program. Can you help me, please???

    Thanks, Joe

    Dear Joe:

This is a very common problem men complain about but is mostly due to a primary misconception. Many people upgrade from Girlfriend 7.0 to Wife 1.0 with the idea that Wife 1.0 is merely a UTILITIES & ENTERTAINMENT program.Wife 1.0 is an OPERATING SYSTEM and designed by its creator to run everything.

It is unlikely that you would be able to purge Wife 1.0 and still convert back to Girlfriend 7.0. Hidden operating files within your system would cause Girlfriend 7.0 to emulate Wife 1.0 so that, in the end, nothing would be gained. It is impossible to un-install, delete, or purge the program files from the system once installed. You cannot go back to Girlfriend 7.0 because Wife 1.0 is not designed to do this.

Some have tried to install Girlfriend 8.0 or Wife 2.0 but end up with more problems than with the original system. Look in your manual under "Warnings-Alimony/Child Support". I recommend that you keep Wife 1.0 and just deal with the situation.

Having Wife 1.0 installed myself, I might also suggest you read the entire section regarding General Partnership Faults (GPFs). You must assume all responsibility for faults and problems that might occur, regardless of their actual cause. The best course of action will be to enter the command C:\APOLOGIZE. In any case, avoid excessive use of the Esc key because -- ultimately-you will have to give the APOLOGIZE command before the operating system will return to normal. The system will run smoothly as long as you take the blame for all the GPFs.

Wife 1.0 is a great program, but very high maintenance. Consider buying additional software to improve the performance of Wife 1.0. I recommend Flowers 2.1 and Chocolates 5.0. Do not, under any circumstances, install Secretary With Short Skirt 3.3. This is not a supported application for Wife 1.0 and is likely to cause irreversible damage to the operating system.

Morning Mazzers. Feeling tired, headachy and nausea after starting the coconut oil :( *boo* I will persevere. In the meantime, I've been checking out Gwynnie's Goop and found a recipe for parmesan crisp that elisebutt65 might enjoy ;)

Morning all, mazzers good idea - I might chill too. Had a bowl of muesli yesterday to try and boost my loss, used to love it but not so keen now.If you only had two eggs all day then maybe I am eating too much to lose weight!

GTG How are you taking the coconut oil? I find it best to put it in a cup with a little water and swallow it quickly. Haven't personally had headache but I did get nauseous to begin with. Thanks for the recipes.
