Morning everyone!!
Sunny it might be water retention, sometimes i feel like ive been a complete icing angel yet i put on weight for no reason. I find when i think back its all the hidden salt in food that ive consumed that have made me gain. Drink plenty of water and it should come off within a day or two.for me anyway.
Managed to survive day 1 (again) yesterday. Was a struggle though because we had my favourite in yesterday, these delicious white sweet potatoes (and i love them) resisted that which was hard and then my bf was eating a giant Cadburys fruit and nut bar infront of me argh!!! But resisted and feel so much better for it. 13 more days of strict atkins to go. :S
Go for it girlyLady! You have to start somewhereKnow this isn't the first time but it's this time! You can make it work! You have the power!:j I believe in you! And so do you! :j
It's been quiet in here today.
I've had a real struggle to be lc, i have succeeded, just, but been hungry all day which leads me to believe i've not been as lc as i should
Ah well, at least i'm keeping the stone off.
If you are hungry you aren't eating enough. Try to keep some tasty lc treats about your person. Seeing that you aren't eating when working has made me worry (mildly, you are a grown woman and still alive :rotfl:). It may be a habit now but is it for the best? Your metabolism will be slowing. You mentioned just back that you didn't lose when IF so why are you still doing it?oooo tiramisu i love that dessert, let us all know how it turned out ok jen. hope its as delicious as it sounds.

Yay! EAT! Try to eat your most for brekkie and lunch. It's worth it as we have more time active after those meals.

I never used to miss breakfast in my carby days, but now i rarely want anything for a few hours but force myself to have 4-5 brazil nuts or a few spoonfulls of yogurt, it really does keep you going for ages.
Its been a struggle today coz i've been bored. Will try and keep busy tomorrow0 -
Hi all!
Been struggling to save all of a cd mp3It does have 238 tracks and we've stalled with 133 to go :rotfl:
Tis Rush, ALL they've ever released! Never thought I'd do Rush again as twas my ex hubby's fave (and was all we ever listened to - or so it seemed). Tis 12 years ago tho since I got control of the cd player, so seems I'm up for it
However it's not up for being downloaded and savedPOO!
Heyho!

Well what with everything I ain't eaten since 1pm!
Rush made my ribs go cold! Not their wonderful heart wrenching melodies and amazing bass countermanded by the best drumming ever, unfortunately - but the time taken.
Heyho. Cold ribs are still food.
Love to all n sweet dreams!

Seemed to have survived yesterday OK - lunch was a total washout with only sandwiches/rolls, some green leaves and bowls of potato salad and fresh fruit! On the way home stopped at a service station and bought a packet of cheese slices  and a couple of those staved off the hunger signs until I got home at 4.30p.m. - cue a huge green salad with loads of ham and coleslaw and stuff. Even managed to have my coconut oil first and wait the necessary 20 mins.
Not such a busy day today and no major travelling involved. :j Breakfast soon, lunch out with work but I can have a burger and remove the bread, and evening meal will be remains in the fridge as I'm off for the weekend tomorrow for a family visit.
I find that breakfast is the one which makes or breaks the day for me and sets me off on the correct mind set. It's almost inconceivable that I don't have any sugar urges - this from a person who could eat a whole packet of marshmallows in one go - or am tempted by lovely fresh bread! The other day I was in Waitrose and the display and smell of their breads was amazing: I stopped; I had a whiff and I moved on immediately. :T
My elderly mother has been doing low carb now for about 3 or 4 weeks and has transformed her health and her life. Think she was suffering greatly from Candida overgrowth and the removal of carbs/sugar from her food has made such an amazing difference for the better. All different reasons for taking the positive step.
Lots of good vibes to those who are struggling still.0 -

Last year she was quite overweight and her teeth were very badly scaled - the vet wanted to anaesthetise her and clean them but my sisters dog had just died of that so I was very reluctant. My other cat eats 'wet' catfood and has no weight or teeth problems whereas this one has always eaten only the dry food - I bought one of the expensive brands, not the cheapo stuff. Anyway, when I looked at the ingredients it was clearly a lot higher in carbohydrate and lower in protein than the wet stuff - 'rice and chicken' rather than 'chicken and rice'. It seemed mad that I was feeding a carnivorous animal on a high carb diet when I was lcing myself, so I stopped the dry food and made her switch. She didn't like it at first, but got used to it in a week or so. A year later she has just been back to the vet; she is no longer overweight and one side of her mouth is completely cleared up and the other side is just 'a little scaled' - when the vet looked back at the previous year's notes she was clearly taken aback at the difference.
Given that adverts often recommend dry food as keeping the teeth cleaner because of the greater friction of chewing it, this is a pretty amazing recommendation for a LC diet, I think!
I'm wondering how ditsy I must be to never have thought of this before!
I have three cats - two sensible weight and one enormous great podge - the heaviest cat in the vets. He arrived last and, as the other two have always had (expensive) dry food to graze at will, putting him on a diet is basically impossible without getting torn to shreds by the others.
I've now read the ingredients of my expensive dry food and, despite the fact that it says Lamb and Rice, the first ingredient is ....rice! So I've been for a wander round the net and ordered a variety of wet and dry food that's low carb.
Yesterday two sample packs of Orijen dry food arrived - 75% fish, 25% veg and botanicals (there's some potato in there) 0% grain. It's billed as 'biologically appropriate' - mimicking a cat's natural diet including some very exciting sounding things like rosehips, summer savory and kelp. Certainly went down a treat - in fact they are now giving me the evil eye for refilling the bowl with regular stuff. Even Malcolm says it tastes quite good (and yes he's a human - a barmy one willing to try the cat food). My only worry now is they like it too much and it has the reverse effect of making them all fat!
Thanks for your post that made me wake up and see the bleedin obvious! Carnivors eating rice - what was I thinking?:rolleyes:0 -

Erythritol! - quite expensive from low Carb Megastore but IMO the only acceptable sweetener. Its great in cooking but perfectly OK in 'raw' things - sprinkled on raspberries with cream is the ultimate test for me and this is fine.0 -
and if you can mix erythritol with another sweetener xylitol, stevia etc you need a loss let of both to get a good level of sweetness. There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.0
