trouble is if you get it done on the nhs you have no say over the surgeon they often dont do any muscle repair ( v important ) or do any contouring lipo to tidy it off

i know of a fair few ladies who have had it done on the nhs - not personally but via a cosmetic surgery website - who are just not happy and have been treated pretty shabbily really imo

    will send you a pm....

Would be private if on insurance. Can't believe I could swing it on the NHS - I bloody hope not in a way, since my DD was born missing 4 adult teeth and the necessary implants aren't covered and so must be paid for privately. (Cost £10k) Don't get me started on the bleedin' NHS...

Thanks in advance for PM. xxx

How's your finger this morning, Daisy?

Hello all :hello:Got anti-inflammatory tablets from docs again (really don't want to keep taking them everytime), but now having muscle pain in my side and that doesn't feel right at all so going to have to go back and see what that is. Oh what fun I am having!
    Hello Moonrose,

I was just catching up with the thread....thought someone should have got back to you after yr post, you being poorly an all. How`s your troubles now the tablets have kicked in? Any idea what`s causing it?According to all the pro-LoCarb stuff, inflammation should go down on this diet.I must say, it hasn`t helped my( arthritic?) knee yet. Anti-inflammatory tablets are a bit scary,so I`ve tried to keep off them.

Anyone else had this grotty Flu/Bronchitis? I`ve had it, got better, and got it again. Bugga! This`ll be week 4.
What`s worse, is when you get ill, some bright spark always says,"Well, you are on a Diet.." as if that`s what`s causing it! I`m apt to reply,"Shall I go and eat a cake, then? Will that cure me?" :rotfl:

Oh, and Thanks Ted, for the interesting links (as always) That`s what I come on here for really.
    :j:hello::j

  • Good morning all :hello:
Daisy & HC, have you both got a headache this morning?!
    Very interesting conversation btw!!
Daisy, it's fantastic that you are learning to love yourself, soft chin & all, sorry we missed that bit. I suppose we are all guilty of focussing on the negatives & not the good bits. :o So will try to be more upbeat & positive in future. :D
Now dare I mention the tummy tuck?! I've noticed my saggy belly (oh you can just picture it can't you?! :rotfl: ) seems to be even more saggy now that I've lost a bit of weight. It's the bit you can't lose through exercise iykwim. Don't want to say the word cos it sounds so ugly & matronly but hope you know what I'm getting at!! I wouldn't have surgery just yet, would like to lose more weight first, but it's something I would consider in the future. I would even get a loan to pay for it, if that's what it takes. Anyway, it's something to mull over.
Weigh day today & I lost nada, diddly squit, nuffink!! Infact I put a bit on but really not surprised so I won't moan about it. Much.
    Menu for today
    B - 3 cumberland chipolata sausages & 2 fried eggs (I was hungry)
L - salmon & spring onion mayo with salad & coleslaw
    D - chicken/mozz/bacon & cheesy leeks (yes, again)
Have a good week everyone. :D
Sorry for the mega-post. :o At least mazzers will be happy!! :D
I do like reading (& writing) big posts too!!

i've noticed that pilates seems to have helped to tone up my stomach (and posture in general) more than anything else (care of diva tv "pilates tv" sat and sun am and sky sports "oz style aerobics"). give it a try!
    My name is Paula and I am a low carber :kiss: 1/6/08-83kg : 1/5/10-57kg :kiss: (Atkins/IPD) 24/1/13 - 69kg! Yikes!:cry::cry:

Sweet, I don't have a headache this morning :D. I was only the teensiest bit tipsy, and I had lots of water before bed. :T

Daisy, maybe you need to get that finger seen to? It might need a little stitch.

I'm going to ask my GP about a tummy tuck next time I go. I know she'll say it would be purely cosmetic (and therefore ineligible for private insurance) but it's worth a try! :D
  • Hello Moonrose,

nerdy, I did ask after Moon yesterday, feel for anyone with pain, been there & had it. :( It's not nice.
Anyone else had this grotty Flu/Bronchitis? I`ve had it, got better, and got it again. Bugga! This`ll be week 4.
That's a shame, it's obviously still lurking in your system. I would suggest plenty of rest (if possible) & fluids. Have you been to Doc? You may need antibiotics if it's not shifting? Hope better soon.

Oh wow, you lot dont half gab dontcha? :rotfl:

Daisy, you're right to focus on the good things and play down the negatives. I think I would be happier if I could do that, but I dont have the required well balanced character for it tbh.:D Oh and the reason I've not posted again on the exercise thread (although I have read) is cos I'm lazy and I still haven't got the finger out yet. :oHowever, I have been having sex much more often so I figure that's extra exercise? :rotfl:

I'd have plastic surgery in a heartbeat. :D I looked into laser lipo as a start, to make my chin look better...a chin that used to be a double or triple chin just aint gonna look good as a single chin again without a bit of help methinks. I've also had a Cesarean with the youngest and I've got an 'apron' now that I never had previously. I'm told that will not alter shape, it will only get smaller with weight loss or larger with overeating. It will always be there to some degree, so I'd like that dealt with.

However.......our car is falling to bits and our house needs loads of work so my lipo is so far down the list it would be as well not being on it at all. You think we could get 'job lot' rates if we all went together? :rotfl:Oh and I would like 34C's I think.

Nerdy...my OH had a period of about 5 weeks when he was laid low then ok for a day or so then laid low again. It was really weird how up and down he was. He eventually went to the Doc who prescribed something and he picked up after that so it might be worth a wee trip to the Doc just to check you out in case you have an underlying low level bug apart from the Flu? You and Moon are just not having a good time right now.

Sweet...you moan away pet. You're amongst friends, you're allowed. ;) :rotfl:

I haven't got any pics of 'very fat me' to do a before and after. In fact, I kinda have a bit of a phobia about having my picture taken and the MSE meeting I went to a few years ago, I avoided the obligatory group picture and went to the loo etc. I told them I was just a weirdo and didn't want my picture taken :D but one of the group did it anyway. She did delete it afterwards but she thought I was being all 'precious'.  Even when you know you're being daft, it doesn't stop your feelings though.

Anyway, the only photo I have is when I was on holiday a few years ago and my son has his arm round me (he's 6' so towers above me, lol). In that photo, I am exactly the same weight as I am this morning and I look fat then to say the least :D He is very thin though so anyone would look bad standing beside him. ;)

Well today is my 'eat before 6pm' day and I will soooo try. :rotfl: I need to go shopping again and I really have to write a list but I find it all so boring and tedious.

Have a good day everyone. Or as good as you can for a Monday anyway.;)
