Glad you got a result at work Mercy - right does triumph sometimes and it's a bonus that the boss showed that you matter to the team. (I'm afraid my cynical head says that he probably is well aware that you have been carrying Guy 1 for some time now and was scared of the consequences if he didn't sort it out !)

Don't think Boss man is that clued up, he'd rather not know :) But relies on his trusty gossips:rotfl: Seemed to come as a bit of a surprise as he went from 'handling dodgy lady' mode to 'oh, sh*t, she's quite good actually' mode in a difficult mental 3 point turn :rotfl:

Well done on the BG and cholesterol front! So chuffed for you! :T

focus - well done on the weightloss! That's pretty good honey!

Today at work has been possitively friendly! Although we're not sharing out of work life things yet (we always used to) we are working well together. :D

Tis Friday! And a very welcome day that is :)

    Big love to all!

Ta everyone for your positive reactions to my news. I cannot explain just how elated I am , this retched diabetes has been hanging over my head for years and the professional just accept that it is a deteriorating condition and one can only get worse. Well now I feel that I can stick a finger up - all due to lcing and coconut oil! Hooray.

Mazzers - I also put honey in that potato dressing.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

    All still silent here? !

Well get this, lurkers and those late tuning in :rotfl:

    http://www.drbriffa.com/blog/2009/07/10/more-evidence-that-the-overweight-are-at-the-lowest-risk-of-death/

From the notable Dr Briffa. Keep going to the end, gets better and better.

There's so much out there being decided by underweight fruits who need some justification for their unhappy skinny selves.

Lets take heart and not get as screwed up as them :T

Many Mums are rubbish. Too much history. Don't be seeking praise there, you'll have a long wait for a backhanded compliment.

Or is that just me....? ;)

    I've been Money Tipped!
Thought I'd pop my head in and say hello:hello:

I've just this last month re-started lc-ing - usint the idiot proof diet. I did Atkins about 3 yrs ago and lost loads but lost the will and piled on another 4 stone:eek:
Anyway, beginning of June my size 20 trousers got tight and I also saw my holiday photos:eek::eek::eek: So started in earnest all over again.

So far am losing about 1lb a week which is a lot slower than last time which I am happy about as hopefully my skin will not be so flabby - hate having to tuck the tummy into knickers:rotfl::rotfl: I'm going to join the gym next week as well as kids can use the pool for free and saves me a few bob that way in the summer hols:D

I had a couple of near misses this week as I had teacher training with buffet lunch laid on but I was good and sat there with a pile of bread on my plate after picking out the fillings. Today at least we had some meat and cheese platters so I just had that and some strawberries and toms. They had masses of cakes and cheescake and I felt so depressed staring at them until a colleagues came up and said how I looked thinner already:D

Anyway, hopefully I can keep this up for a year and then I can start adding carbs back slowly until I stabilise because I need to lose 4 stone - Eeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

Made a graph for my fridge and enjoying watching the line start to creep down towards my target and also getting DS2 to take my photo (front and profile) once a week so I have visible evidence. I think the whole 6lbs so far has come of my face as I've lost my chin(s) ;)

    Morning all. :)

Well done elsie, slow and steady always wins the race remember. :T

focus...Mercy speaks big truth when it comes to Mums. Just ignore her whilst smiling nicely. When she's talking you could be singing something in your head. A Wham song perhaps or Shang -a -Lang? :rotfl:

Great news Serena, no wonder you're pleased.

Mercy....well done for keeping your head when dealing with twonk work peeps. That meter of yours seems a great success. ;):D

sweet is it now the family were visiting? Are you surviving? :D

ok big morning wave to whoever I didn't mention...I cant be faffed going any further back in the thread....if I do, by the time I scroll back to my post, I'll have forgotten what I've read again. :rotfl:

I'm going to nip out to pick up ANOTHER couple of bathroom brochures (as if I didn't have enough of the damn things already) and then I need to spend today making decisions. I dont really do decisions these days, so it should make for another interesting day.:rotfl:

    See you all later.

Just spent about 40 minutes reading all the articles on that blog - thanks Mercy!

I have had crispy bacon and a fried egg for breakfast (20 minutes after my coconut oil!) and now ready for the day ahead.

Best to judge your progress on how clothes fit, or don't fit, and not on comments from friends and family. For some really perverse and unfathomable reason if my mother comments on my weght loss it drives me back to the cake/sweetie shop instantly. Luckily she lives 200 miles away so I have plenty of time inbetween visits to keep my head right!

My general well being has certainly improved and my desire to get things done (at home and at work) is zooming into the sky. I can even walk down the confectionery aisle of supermarkets without loading the basket - not one sugary thing has been bought. My favourite used to be marshmallows... urge has gone.

Long may it last. Congratulations to all those here who are feeling the benefits, and thanks to those more knowlegable for sharing their tips!

Off to the local tip with a car load of clutter.

    :j
