Just remember Larkin's poem about parents....... - although we would never mess with our kids' heads..........lol
I too am losing inches if not lbs, even the GP yesterday said he could see I'd lost weight ( don't know how). Having got into the coconut oil groove, I am now going to embark on the Vit D supplementation adventure but am a bit wary of buying stuff from the U.S.A. Has anyone here had experience of this and is it recommended?
Well done Elsie, sugar cravings left me after 2 weeks and I can just ignore those aisles in the supermarket now. I was told once to only go around the outside of the aisles as the fresh produce, dairy, meat and fresh fish are there and you then miss out all the ready meals, sweetstuff etc.
Once again thankyou for your support on here ladies, makes me so happy.
Rainy here in Sussex but I hope you all have a good day.0 -
Hi,
I restarted on the Low Carb at the start of the week - so far I'm feeling really good - no cravings now either - so its all good!
I've around half my body weight to lose - so its going to be a long time until I reach my goal.. but I know that I can do it.
My daughter is getting married in 2011 - and I also have a wedding of my own to plan - so plenty of incentives around... also got my fiance's daughters wedding in September.. thats a bit too close for comfort if I'm honest.
I've previously lost around 5 stone on the LC, but ofcourse its gone back on over the past three years..0 -
Welcome elise, ( not elsie  ) pay attention plz
Is that you flashing you knicks in tne avvy
I've got about 3 stone to lose still, but i am now thinking that may be too much, as my weight doesn't seem to be shifting, but inches still are.
Its very confusing
I know its supposed to be water in the fat cells making you weigh heavier, but is it really??
Even though i've been scoffing carbs a bit lately, i havent put on weight and my work trousers are really really loose now and they are size16 so do i really need another 3 stone ??
I lost 15lb in 15 wks but at 20 wks is still only 15lb but am definately a bit slimmer.
I read you need about 6 months for the fat cells to release the water, so here's hoping. :cool:0 -

Sorry elise.I just think elsie b trips off the tongue so much easier. I've read your name as elsie for yonks.
:D
Btw Max....I just KNOW you said 'pay attention plz' in the voice of meerkat. :rotfl:
Edit: Maz, even. :rotfl:Herman - MP for all!0 -
Elise - so sorry my brain just doesn't work so good these days, combination of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Menopause and Old Age. Please accept my apologies. Good luck in your losses to come.
Mazzers - a) I sit reprimanded and will take more notice lol, and b) If you've lost all that weight in just 20 weeks - keep going girl, you can do whatever you want to.0 -
What a miserable day its been here
Alias, have you been on the pop again
Serena, i've not lost a lot really, i'm still a lump. Ah, i used to be so slim
Still, onwards and downwards.
I really fancy some chips, i've not eaten since brekkie, am back to my old bad habits
I may have another drink tonight, i'm still on holiday after all
But first.. food (prob cheese and pepperami) sigh..0 -
hi everyone, just wanted to say thanks for all the advice,im getting geared up to go low carb and have had a wee look at ppls daily menus and made some notes for what would suit me.Id like to ask aswell about the benefits of coconut oil,i have pretty dry skin and use it to moisturise occasionally but never thought to use it to fry or even put in my coffee (would u use with plain old kenco with 2 sweetners in milk?).Id love to hear how everyone uses it and how often. All I can do is be me, whoever that is

Ther are many others with wiser words than me on low carbs as I'm a newbie to it - however the thread on coconut oil is here: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1297569
and very fabulous it is too!!0 -

appletart try this thread entitled Coconut Oil is great. Should lead you to others but if you have any trouble then click on a Ted Hutchinson post, see his other posts and there you go....
Mazzers, no you do not want chips. 15lb and a drop in BG is a good enough result for anybody so stop putting yourself down. The past is gone and over - we cannot change it , tomorrow we know nothing of, therefore we should all live in the present moment as this is the only thing we have the power to change. (Oh you got me - yes, I am an old hippy.lol) What I'm trying to say is look at your positive points and what you have achieved. Do not give in to the bad carbs.:D0 -
I'm baaaaaaaaack!! did you miss me? Did ya, did ya?
Totally fell off the icing wagon i'm afraid. The lure of ice cream by the sea was too strong. Anyway, feeling like a big heffer so back to icing big time tomorrow....just need to finish those pringles... Ahem...
Oh and don't remember who posted yesterday about the German salad (Serena?) but my OH is from South Germany and makes his salad this way... cooked potatoes, gherkins (of course, he IS german) sliced german sausage, boiled eggs..and the trick...add the vinegar from the gherkin jar. I think Northern Germans just use potatoes and fried onions (sometimes Gherkins and or/eggs) but use the same gherkin vinegar stuff. Either way the salad has to be left to infuse for an hour or two. Not very icing friendly though!
Time to read through a week of posts.....
