well done on the loss as well sweet :) do you feel the wi fit really gives you a good workout? wanted one when it came out but never got it.

But dont you find chicken very dry? i like chicken but im never keen on the chicken breast :o unless its deep fried :rotfl:

I've only used my wii fit a couple of times, bought it just before my exams started and never got into it. Will start using it more now that i have the time.
Never found the chicken too dry. But then i usually had loads of sauce on it, need to try a low carb sauce.

  • i gave up on beef stirfry after many super chewy efforts and stuck to chicken. May try again though.

Been looking at a Jamie Oliver recipe - sizzling beef with spring onions & black bean sauce - sounds lush!! Anyway, he said to use sirloin (like mazzers said) or rump steak (like mazzers said was like boot leather!!). I have no idea if the oil you use makes any difference but he used groundnut oil & put it on a very high heat before adding the steak & other ingredients. He only stir-fried it for a couple of minutes & then transferred it all to a bowl & covered it with tin foil whilst he cooked something else to go with it. The reason I included that bit of info is that I know you are supposed to 'rest' meat after it's been cooked & I wondered if that made a difference to it tasting like boot leather?? Just speculating, I haven't got a clue really!! :rotfl:

I wouldn't say it gives me a good workout, but I do get a bit warm!! I'm only doing limited exercises atm, tends to be the aerobic ones (step plus & the hula) that gets my heart pumping!! There are some good toning exercises though, just haven't got round to doing them yet!! Think the current daily weight loss is a lot to do with my walking briskly for 30mins every day as well. ;)

All this talk of steak is making me crave one!! But, I'm having HM fish pie tonight :D doing half with a mashed potato topping for hubby & half with broc/cauli mash for me. Will have mine with peas & maybe a wholemeal pitta again.

    Hello everyone.
. Now I know it might sound a bit strange, but I'm actually looking forward to being overweight!! :rotfl: Only because I've been obese for so long!! :o

I know what you mean. Oh the joys of being only overweight. I am definately in the obese catagory but I remember the heady days of overweightness. Sigh.

Just been to Mr M and bought up half the store of berries. Mmm. The weight is just falling off OH so I need to be a bit more strict with myself. Don't want us to look like Laurel & Hardy. Have planned to make lots of salads and some soups -just in time for the heatwave . Also planning to make foods hotter, as in chili as heard great things about this kick starting weight loss. Will try anything (except coconut oil, bleugh!).

Ho hum back to the kitchen like the Stepford wife I am.;)

Lol, I admit I'm heavier than my hubby :o so I'm definitely Hardy!!

Also planning to make foods hotter, as in chili as heard great things about this kick starting weight loss.

Go careful!! I still remember what happened when I made Mercy's mexican fudge with lots of chillis!! :o Put it this way, it did help with the weight loss but I couldn't sit down for a while afterwards!! :rotfl:

Well I paid for yesterdays excesses on the scales as I put weight on!

SS-Told you the jacknife was evil.Just wait until you try the downward facing dog I nearly popped a disc doing that:D

For anyone who hasnt tried the wii fit yes you can get a decent workout.I do 30mins jogging,10mins Boxing and 20mins Step.I also do Muscle Workouts and Yoga and believe me after that lot I am dripping with sweat and glad to be done. But it doesnt make me lose any weight as it builds muscle and everyone knows muscle weighs more than fat:mad:

GunsandBanjos-I might just have to kill you after the comments about your weight.I am 4'11" and a size 12 but I weigh an awful lot more than you.I'd have to amptutate a leg to weigh that little:rotfl:

Mazzer-Who in their right mind has 5 LAPTOPS!!

Marrowgirl-Dont get dispirited because hubby is losing faster than you.My hubby originally started LCing at the same time as me but 12months on I've lost 4stone and he's lost exactly nada, nothing, zilch not because the weight didnt come off him but more cos he kept breaking the diet and carb bingeing and from what I can gather a lot of men are like that so you will catch up when he cracks:D
