Is a lovely day, althought some grey clouds are looming.
Lamb in oven, turkey leg for puss in oven, and i am having a relaxing day.
Alias, my life is really boring, most days i'm stuck at home alone and i dont get to see my friends often enough because of work comittments.
I do enjoy the simple things these days but am fed up being on my own.. time i met a nice fella!!
I seem to having way too much salt in my diet (according to fitday) never gave it a thought before, i spose its the butter, bacon, pepperami and scratchings etcas i never add salt at the table and cook veg in very little salt,
I may do some ironing later0 -
Hello ladies (and Ted)
Can I ask a question? I've been trying to low carb and did lose 6lbs in the first two weeks but have plateaued since then!
All I've done is cut out potatoes, rice, pasta, crisps, pastries (and my beloved croissants). But have the occasional slice of high quality bread, the odd few glasses (or bottles) of red wine. I have not worried about the GI of fruit and veg and continue to have a quarter teaspoon sugar in my numerous cups of tea and coffee, but I don't eat starchy veg, swede, parsnips etc but do eat lots of fruit sometimes with a small dollop of ice cream.
Is this enough low carbing? Cos I'm also interested in the health benefits, feeling that my previous high carb diet was tipping me towards type 2 diabetes as my waist was rapidly disappearing.
Regards and hope you all enjoy the lovely sunny day (here in the south anyway)

Lol mercy....that made me literally laugh out loud. :rotfl:
mazzers you do too have a life.....dont you have me going back to copy and paste out of all your 'I'm meeting the girls' or 'I'm going out' posts.:rotfl:
Well yesterday was a washout for me, I did nothing...today is gonna be the same. I really am at the mercy of my TOTM hormones these days. Only saving grace is I know what it is that makes me feel this way and I know it will pass. It's a bit of a pain though as time is marching on and I have loads of things to do. No point in trying though as I'll end up measuring wrongly or cutting skirting short or doing some other 'wrong' thing. I just have a serious lack of concentration and then I get short tempered when I inevitably mess up. So my wood will have to lie in the hall for another few days I think. I thought when I got older things would get better but if anything they're getting worse. I can cheerfully just sit and stare into space these days.Oh well, I'll put a positive spin on it and pretend I'm practising for my rest home.
Sharlee.......'no' in a nutshell.Tis not enough. :rotfl:You really have to ditch the sugar and bread and be careful what fruit and veg you are eating as the natural sugars in most fruit is really high. As for the ice cream.
You should also stop the wine but I find that difficult to say.
Well done on the weight loss so far btw.

You are just like a friend of mine, she always says the same thing to me, but truth is, i make such a big deal out of it cos it doesnt happen often that it just sticks in folks minds.
It is only every few weeks it happens
Even the kids tell me i'm a saddo and should get out of the bedroom and get a life
Why, i make a big deal out of nipping to Ikea or B&Q these days, tis a day out. :rotfl:0 -
Sharleen, alias is right, here is a few examples of carbs in the foods you may be eating
Sugar - 2 tsp = 8.4g
Ice cream - smll scoop = 10.7g
1 small apple = 14.6g
1 small pear =21.5g
1 small banana =23.1
1 small plum =7.5
1 small orange = 11.3g
1 small kiwi friut = 11.1
grapes 1- cup =29 g
Granary bread- 1 slice =14.1
So, although the amount of carbs required is an individual thing, i think 40- 50g is probably considered the highest for a lc diet.0 -

morning everyone or afternoon i guess i should say. i know i shouldnt trust the scales but i cant help myself. ive been trained to watch the numbers. Duh!!
anyway ive stayed the same as last week which is a good thing i guess cos it means i havent put on any weight but a bummer cos i wanted to lose at least 1lb.
alcohol isnt a problem for me, its all the snacking i do. still low carb but still. seeing as i wi this morning after i am going to enjoy eating low carb but as much as i want, normally i aim for portion control but everyone needs a break so todays its going to be it. only eating things that are low carb but not gonna watch every bite i eat. hope that makes sense.0 -
