Mercy, it's the thought of scrambled egg & sardines in tomato sauce together, I just don't think it goes!! :rotfl:
Love scrambled eggs (but don't like olives ) & would probably enjoy the rich, creaminess of it on it's own, especially made with the cream cheese added, sounds lush!!0 -
Mercy, I'm IR too, and strangely pale, born a ginge but the hair has turned a weird brown with age so burn at the slightest hint of sun(with a sprinkle of wirey grey hairs too). Friends used to say my skin was so white is has a hint of blue, like clothes washed in Daz. I have now dumped said friends.;). I also nap alot. I think I am distantly related to the doormouse, or possibly sloth.
Made OH an omlette for breakfast in bed this morning. I'm feeling very virtuous today. however have just eaten a punnet of nectarines so don't tell anyone!:shhh:"I am not a vegetarian because I love animals; I am a vegetarian because I hate plants." A. Whitney Brown0 -

hi hun
I'm not IR, think you mean mazzers. I have a couple of strangely pale friends with your colouring. One is a proper copper girly, and a goth. We generally feel she'd start to smoke and blister like a vampire if exposed to sunlight :rotfl:
Luckily that means I always get the sunny seat in the beer garden

alcohol isnt a problem for me, its all the snacking i do. still low carb but still. seeing as i wi this morning after i am going to enjoy eating low carb but as much as i want, normally i aim for portion control but everyone needs a break so todays its going to be it. only eating things that are low carb but not gonna watch every bite i eat. hope that makes sense.
Is it sweet or savoury snacks that you want focus? I was on the bodytrim website earlier and someone suggested mixing flavoured protein powder with ricotta cheese. I'll be picking those up tomorrow. I really miss sweet things. I thought crisps would be a problem, but so far so good. And BF eat a fish supper in front of me tonight and I wasnt bothered about the chips
Oh and I'm a ginger who tans eventually. I'm very jealous of everyones good weather this weekend. Its been rotten here0 -

You do seem to nap a lot, I thought it was just your age (miaow!! :rotfl:) but I can see how it's related to your insulin resistance. Don't know if you've already said, but how did you find out you were IR?? Was it by accident when you were in hosp with heart prob?? Seem to remember you saying something like that but might have got that completely wrong!! I am quite interested in finding out more about it actually.
Tis a worry for you though, something to keep an eye on methinks.
I only found out when i asked the consultant to make a damn decision on whether or not i had had a heart attack and to write to the insurers with the info and send me a copy.
No-one has mentioned it since or seems in the least concernedbut i have it in black and white. Useless gits.
I have done my own research,
I will check my water every day now to see if its certain foods sending my BG high.
The beta blockers do make me sleepy, a lot of peeps suffer tiredness with them, but is also my age and the IR i think.
Plus i'm a lazy cow who loves to sleep :rolleyes:0 -
Being a lifetime Goth I used to revel in pale and interesting. Combine that with ALWAYS burning easily made it easy to sit in the shade. I'm typical Anglo/Saxon with pale skin, dark hair and blue eyes.

ah the old goth days, so many memories.,lol
Just started exercising to help my weight loss/toning along. It was callanetics, which i used to do years ago and it gave me a lovely shape, so hopefully it will work again. might do alternate days of yoga and callanetics. Beleive it or not i used to be very flexible- now i can JUST touch my toes!!

Hey all, apologies again for the extended absence... blasted work had me taking surfing lessons, drinking wine and making sand sculptures on the seaside all weekend. Why must life be so stressful?
I certainly got my Vitamin D allowance in two days of pure, brilliant sunshine... unfortunately I may have overdone it. Pain! Although, new use for coconut oil: I just filled a shallow, cool bath and melted a tablespoonful of it in... Brilliant moisturisation (just rubbed in the excess oil when I got out) and really soothing on my scarlet skin. Have to borrow a shower tomorrow (probably at work) so I can try it out on my sea-salty hair.
Marrow, I'm also a BzzAgent - will it help if I tell you the Seeds of Change milk chocolate with cashew and orange is truly divine? And that I ended up scoffing it all in one go? No? Oops...
Onewingedangel, I just "clamber" a lot as my excercise - there's obviously the pole dancing, which is basically clambering up and down a pole, and more recently I've been having a go at trees, beams (pull-ups), bannisters, whatever's handy really. I startled my colleagues on Friday when they realised I was missing from the campfire and one of them noticed me 15 feet up a nearby tree.Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -
Forgot to mention, i stayed just under budget again this week and when we run out of cws cheese and PAYG phone credit i refused to get more til Monday, unheard of for me
I did spend £200 on a wardrobe and a camera and a few bits n bobs last week tho, but thats allowed.0 -
Ooops, sorry Mercy, I can never remember who wrote what!
Badger- I'm trying to resist that chocolate, I've managed to hide it away so well I can't find it.
mazzers -does it help that the punnet only had four nectarines in it? No? I'm such a greedy devil, I can't have just one of anything. I need to find something low carb to snack on instead. I've tried cheese but i would just eat the whole block!
