Hello all you lovely & beautiful peeps :hello:
Yes, I was thinking about trying to do a runner  but how can I now after all those 'sweet' sentiments?! :rotfl: Just feeling a bit of a fraud I supposeThis is a low-carb support thread after all  I've been doing high-carb for the last couple of weeks but starting a new regime tomorrow!! Honest, tis the truth, the whole truth & nothing but the truth!!
My aim is to be more organised with everything!! I'm going to do a weekly planner & it's going to have meal plans, shopping budget plans, housework plans  & exercise plans!! Just call me [STRIKE]anal[/STRIKE] Mrs. Organised from now on!! :rotfl:
Mercy, loved that 'Warning to Women' email!! Tis bl00dy true, I've already been a victim!! :rotfl:
mazzers, wish I could understand that ketostick/insulin resistance thingy, I just don't get itThink I need a Biology lesson!! Don't anybody attempt to give me one though, got woolly head syndrome atm.
Btw, naughty you on the salt front!! I love salted butter but I never buy it - you can get Value Unsalted from Mr. T. Also, I have never added any salt when cooking veggies etc, you do get used to not cooking with it although things may taste a bit bland to begin with. What else?? Oh yeah, bacon can be very salty & that's why I used to buy the pork escalopes for brekkie instead, only take 6-7 mins to cook in the George Foreman.*this sermon has now ended*
Welcome sharlee, another [STRIKE]wino[/STRIKE] peep that appreciates fine wine.
alias, I so know what you mean about being a slave to the hormones (was that a Grace Jones song btw?!). I have done a very silly thing today - I cut my own fringe!! I really should not be trusted with a pair of scissors when I feel like this - I now have a 'Freda fringe' as my sister would say, it's so not a good look!! :rotfl:
Oh well, enough of this MEGA-post, I only came in to cool down, it's soooooo hot & sunny here!! Which makes me think, why does other fat melt when it's warm & not the [STRIKE]lard[/STRIKE] fat covering my body?!0 -

Sweet, i cut my own fringe too, i twist it around and snip.. but a little at a time.
Is a 'Freda fringe' similar to a Friar Tuck :rotfl:
D'you kno, i pride myself on not using much salt, its hidden salt, but, it cant be accurate, as today, i've had 1 tea, 1 coffee, mushroom/ cheese omelette with some tinned toms (no salt added at all) and lamb with broccoli, cauli and carrots, and my sodium is double the RDA
Must be a mistake.
Try not to confuse you with the IR but i had sugar on my ketostick, and you should never have sugar in your wee cos it means you have so much in your blood thats its spilling over into your urine  for whatever reason. IR with me probably.
Insulin takes the BG (sugar) to your muscles, but if you're insulin resistant it is unable to, so it goes into your wee.
And if it cant feed your muscles you are tired cos they arent getting the 'sugar'
See, easy peasy
And as you all know, i am always so tired, so methinks its very bad. gulp
Shoot me.. shoot me now!!0 -
Sweet- I always do something crazy to my hair before a big event like a wedding. however, your fringe cannot compare to the time I had my long mousey hair highlighted the day before my friends wedding. I must have had a reaction the the colourant or something because I was popped under the dryer to "take" and the next thing I know there was flames and smoke coming from my head! I had my long hair all chopped off, but even then the ends had a hint of blue (blue?) and a smoky aroma!
Mercy -loved your email. :rotfl:I'm sure someone is coming in the night and pumping the fat from someone else's liposuction into my body. Its the only explanation for my thighs. (and nothing to do with copious amounts of chocolate)
Been relatively good today. berries for brekkie, then roast dinner at my parent's house, without the starchy veg or potatoes. (and without the meat of course but had tvp burger instead). Resisted the sponge pudding.
(or4?)weeks ago. Yippee. May have lost a bit before that before the weighing madness started. :j OH has lost 7lbs.

:rotfl::rotfl:
You are just like a friend of mine, she always says the same thing to me, but truth is, i make such a big deal out of it cos it doesnt happen often that it just sticks in folks minds.
It is only every few weeks it happens
Even the kids tell me i'm a saddo and should get out of the bedroom and get a life
Why, i make a big deal out of nipping to Ikea or B&Q these days, tis a day out. :rotfl:[/QUOTE]
Mazzers, you've got to go a long way to be as sad as me. My nickname is The Olympic Torch. Because I never go out.
Been to Skegness today with DS and my Mum. Was doing really well, chicken thighs and boiled eggs in the butty box. Then got coerced (proper arm twisted up the back job, honestly) into a tray of seaside chips (they really do taste the best) and a small Mr Whippy. Not going to tell you I didn't enjoy it because they were bleedin lovely. I've not weighed but I've deffo lost some 'baggage'. Size 18 linen trousers I bought a month ago from Marks and not worn til today look a bit big. Christ I've not been a size 16 for about 7 years. I was chuffed to monkeys getting out of a size 20. If I get in my old 16's I might just explode with joy!! :j0 -
lol I use some home reciepes that are some what no good to taste better than what you looking for
Think this post needed a comma and a word or 2 changing / adding
I find some home reciepes that seem some what no good (theoretically), to taste better than what you were looking for
Sort of makes sense re sardines :rotfl:
They're my new super food. 'Super' because they're full of good stuff and - to my palate - taste great!
Sweets - just do the scrambled eggs, need something to add to it though as alone they're a bit too creamy and rich for my taste. Fresh sliced toms, and olives on a bed of spinach?

It's been another lovely day here! Got over an hour in the sun again (11.50 - 01.30) a little overcast on small occasions - hoping one can still benefit from just lying there, reading a good book and enjoying the temporary shade, my vitamin D levels must be quite respectable these days
Interestingly, I've never been a sun worshipper before. Over the last 2 years I have become aware of the benefits of Vit D and now appreciate the good aspects of the sun. By taking vit D at 5000iu a day for over 12 months now, I find I don't burn like I used to. I can do an hour (15 mins each side at a time - strictly, I have a timer :rotfl:) in the noonday sun, without burning at all. After that I apply sunscreen to bony parts, like decolette/collar bone area and nose. Legs don't seem to mind at all and I now have a brown belly
Being a lifetime Goth I used to revel in pale and interesting. Combine that with ALWAYS burning easily made it easy to sit in the shade. I'm typical Anglo/Saxon with pale skin, dark hair and blue eyes.
It's good to have the freedom to enjoy the sun and get the benefits. Cos it's NOT bad for you! Quite the oppositeThat and despite having a Gothic Heart I am just too happy to do Goth 'properly' anymore :rotfl: (except the music and sense of controlled darkness, obviously)

Lol, not quite, I don't have the baldy bit!! It's just badly cut (fairly blunt scissors), too short (went above my eyebrows by mistake!!) and a bit pudding bowl like!! I keep trying to fluff it to soften it a bit but, no, I'm still a helmet head!! :rotfl:
D'you kno, i pride myself on not using much salt, its hidden salt, but, it cant be accurate, as today, i've had 1 tea, 1 coffee, mushroom/ cheese omelette with some tinned toms (no salt added at all) and lamb with broccoli, cauli and carrots, and my sodium is double the RDA

I don't understand that either, I know cheese is very salty but surely not that bad as to double the RDA for sodium?! That seems to be the only salty thing you have eaten.

Thanks for explaining that, I do understand now
You do seem to nap a lot, I thought it was just your age (miaow!! :rotfl:) but I can see how it's related to your insulin resistance. Don't know if you've already said, but how did you find out you were IR?? Was it by accident when you were in hosp with heart prob?? Seem to remember you saying something like that but might have got that completely wrong!! I am quite interested in finding out more about it actually.
Tis a worry for you though, something to keep an eye on methinks.0
