Congrats Gaye on the big day. I'll be 34 next month, feeling smug now! Wish I had your figure though.

Hospital appt was horrible but bearable. Had a male student in the room while I was poked about in unnatural places. Even more meds now but nothing too nasty going on.

Consultant wants me on a low GI diet so will have to have a look at that. Probably doing that with low carbs. Ate some peanuts last night too, they were sooooooo moreish.

On the cat front, still mourning my poor mog, but OH fell in love with a kitten so he is now sitting on my shoulders purring for England. (edit -the kitten not OH!!) Very cute little black thing that no-one wanted so I was persuaded to give him a home. He's addicted to babybel cheese and even tried to take it out of my mouth while I was eating it this morning! Even my cat is Icing! No name yet -any suggestions?

    todays meal:

B: cheese, then some berries later.
    L: veggie soup
D: ratatouie possibly with veggie sausages.

Trying to reduce my fruit intake and up the veggies.

i find using double cream for cheese sauce a bit to rich and claggy

Mmmmmmmmmmm, rich & claggy, just how I like my cheese sauce!! :rotfl:

Tis nice to experiment with different flavour cheeses as well, smoked applewood from Mr. T is really nice.

    Hi everyone, I'm back wave.gifwave.gifwave.gif

Hiya newish, good to see you back :D

How is everyone???? Think everyone mostly fine

Any big news??? Er, don't think so?? Apart from Gaye's 50th of course!!

Any new recipes? Yep, some lovely sounding ones, hopefully Mercy has, or will be, adding to the Recipe list. Piri piri is the new 'black' apparently!!

Any newbies? Bloomin' loads, lol!! Mostly from Scotland!! Think alias has been recruiting them all (probably on commission ) However, alias herself has disappeared/gone awol (unless she's gone undercover as an AE, hmmmmmmmm hadn't thought of that before!!)

Anyway, I'm sure you will catch up with everyone soon enough ;)

marrow, I'm (still) considering low-gi?? Have done it before & did get on with it ok but still thinking things through  Takes me a while to get my act together!!

How about 'piri-piri' for a name for your new kitty?! Just thought about it when I replied to newish's post, above :o We actually look after a black stray cat, don't know his name so he just gets called 'the cat', 'cat', or 'puss' Hopefully this new moggy will bring some happiness (and probably scratches) into your life.

Hope you find a good name for the kitty, marrow.

    Today is dragging at work!

    Today's menu:
B - chunk of cheese (was in a hurry)
    L - roast beef salad
D - crustless quiche and veg. Or more salad.

If the boyfriend brings wine, I might have a small glass.
