I have eaten chocolate and a french fancy

Have you seen the BIG french fancy birthday cake?! Just like a giant pink french fancy!! In the co-op today they had one in the 'sell-by date' trolley for £2.99 (usually £6.99) & I'm ashamed (again ) to admit that I was tempted to get it. Would have scoffed the lot, and been very ill, if I had bought it, but managed to resist. Bought the 5-pack of cadbury's chocolate instead for £1 :o

But they are nothing but sweet nothingness, full of all sorts of artificial stuff and enough sugar to send someone on the ceiling. They are made to look tempting but the taste doesn't match up to the look and you are much better off spending the money on good stuff which will make you loose weight. You know it makes sense!

I will try to resist temptation tho.

order an omelette or a salad. Easy.LOL:)

Well here I am - ready to start proper low carb today.

Can I post my daily menus for a while for assistance? I have been cutting back (no bread for a week) whilst reading up on it all so hopefully will be okay.

I have bmi of 26 and weighed in this morning at 12st 6lb, I am 5' 8" tall so my goal weight is initially 11 st but ultimately 10st 4lb. As a type 2 diabetic it is really important to me to lose it and I am being positive about it at the moment. ( the sunshine helps too).

I am open to any suggestions/advice that you would like to offer, would be gratefully received.

    Menu today

    B raspberries, yoghurt & linseeds

    L ham salad,hm coleslaw & mayo

D tofu sausages, broccoli, cauliflower & greens

snacks - almonds, will attempt 2l water too

Gaye, how did the varnishing go?
Bet you'll be glad to be off.

I will prob have a salad, but as i was off track yesterday, i could do without temptation as its harder when you have sugars swimming around in your blood. ;)

Hi Serena, your menu looks good to me, but I'm no expert. The only thing I was unsure about was the linseeds, I use these ground to make bread, but I know they aren't absorbed at all whole, and thought they can cause problems in the gut, diverticulitis I think, when they get caught in pockets in the gut wall...

B&L at about 1pm green salad with a few chickpeas and small pice tandoori chicken - (not enough fat in this meal for me.
Then 2 hour bike ride - yippee - fat lass on a bike
D - pork chop cauli mashed with lots of butter, carrot and fried onions.
There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.
