Focus, i lay off the fruit too, cept for berries, i'm hoping i can get back to it one day, i really need a BG monitor to check what spikes my blood.
They are quite cheap but its the lancets and the strips that bump up the price, i must invest in one tho.

I had a good day yesterday. B was boiled egg, grated cheese and mayo mixed, lunch barbecue meat with salad, and dinner a beef burger no bun again with salad. Drank a lot of water and had a coffee with coconut oil in it. Not bad tasting and not too oil-slicky. Snacks a little salami.

Today, B was scrambled eggs and bacon, lunch will be tuna mayo salad, and for dinner I'm having a salmon fillet with broccoli and blue cheesy leeks.

I can honestly say I'm not hungry. I could eat, because I always can, but I don't have the urge to stuff my face. Even though I know there are ginger nuts in the kitchen :o

I know it's early days still but one day is better than no days!

i have moments when i cant eat like the hunger has gone but then i always make myself eat so that later i wont be so starving that i just eat whatever i can find instead of something low carb.

Ive been eating melon recently, not everyday but like once a week. its so nice to eat this when the weather is hot and the sun is out. I guess i should stick to the berries more as they are low carb just they are so expensive :(

I love piri piri sauce, it's good on ribs as well as chicken. The sauces you can get in the supermarket made by Nandos are low in carbs - and you only need a tiny amount brushed over the meat/fish before cooking, I usually reckon it would add to 0.5g of carbs for each person.

I think if you count the carbs in the fruit and see how you feel afterwards, it will be fine. If you find the fruit spikes your blood sugar or causes cravings, add some cream or creme fraiche to your fruit to lower the overall GI of the meal.
  • I haven't given up fruit at all. I have 1/2 a pink grapefruit and a cooked apple (with nut/flax mix and cream) for breakfast and yesterday I had 3 small peaches (well, there isn't room in the boat fridge for them and the heat is turning them quickly - that's my excuse!). I only rarely eat bananas though. But I'm not following a strict regime because I know that I couldn't keep to it. At least this way I can eat well and still loose a pound a week.
Vegetarian. Have cut out all high carb food. Not following any particular plan.Started 20/1/2009. Weight lost so far 29lbs. Target weight loss 38lb in total.

I really do believe carbs are the root of all evil and could well be the cause of most of todays auto immune diseases.
I have always believed it was our diets causing us so many problems, and deep down, knew bread was my problem but didnt think i could live without it, a clear indication that something is not right.
My grinding knee joints dont seem to be so grindy anymore, i wonder if its the fat in my diet that has improved them.

Will be having cauliflower in some form or another today as i got two of them reduced to 7p each yesterday and the flesh is still really creamy with lovely green leaves icon14.gificon14.gif

Oh, I am soooo embarrassed!! :o:o:o!!

Just been caught strutting my stuff & singing along to Beyonce Crazy in Love by the window-cleaner!! Eek!! :o:o:o

Never heard him because I had the music blasting as I was doing housework - it helps get me motivated, lol!! Hid in the downstairs cloakroom until my face had cooled down a bit & then went outside to pay & give him his cup of tea. I made a joke of it and, bless him, he said he hadn't heard me anyway!! I don't believe a word of it, think he was being a Gentleman & was just sparing my blushes, lol!! :o:o:o

Hopefully someone will be along to explain as I don't drink them, but think it's a mixture of oils, including coconut oil.
