Oh daisy, you show off!! :p:rotfl:

focus, I'm thinking I would like piri piri as I do like spicy food, yum. Never tried Nandos (I'm assuming it's a restaurant?? :o) OMG I live such a sheltered life oop North!!

    Morning all :hello:

Not such a nice day today but hoping to get out for a walk this morning. Feeling a bit 'bleurgh' due to imminent TOTM & blocked doze again  Had a coughing fit when I opened the window earlier so I'm assuming the pollen count is up again. Never used to get hay-fever but think I'm succumbing to it this year.

Anyway, hope everyone is feeling bright & breezy!! Have a good day peeps :D

Does anyone know anything about whether low carb food has any effect on skin conditions (mainly ulticaria) or come across anything on the net to do with this kind of thing? I haven't seen anything myself but carbs seem to be the route of all evil so I woudn't be surprised, lol.

Not seen anything about that specific condition, i have read many articles that claim it is a good diet for skin generally and i read an article claiming specifically that psoriasis sufferers can benefit from low carb high protein diets.

    Hi all:)

Well I've been lurking and reading back on the thread(up to page 52) and also copying lots - esp Ted's info. Today I am going food shopping and will stock up on butter, cheese, mayo and meats. Can't believe it after all these years of hi fibre, low fat - and of course the resulting type 2 diabetes.lol

I would like to know a couple more things if you wouldn't mind helping out.

Coconut oil - am having two teaspoons a day in coffee and also cooking with coconut/olive oil mix but is this enough before going totally LC?

Have had years of bowel problems and found that a bowl of allbran every morning was most beneficial! TMII know but will the oil help me with this or should I include some fybogel as well.

    Thankyou in advance

this morning i felt so unhealthy. i know ive been losing weight and inches but i just feel so down about how much ive put on in the last year :(makes me feel shameful.

Snap. Went shopping with the kids last night & saw someone I recognised from school. I felt ashamed at how I looked compared to her, she was lovely & slim & wearing trendy clothes. I just felt a mess. :(

Got me thinking about Friends Reunited (I know, bit random) but I just thought that if ever there was a reunion organised, I wouldn't go because of my size. :( Not so bothered about my lack of career in the last few years, but the fact that I'm overweight/obese, I would hate my old school friends to see that.

    Ted?

Is that like 'hives'?? Not sure what causes it in the first place so don't know if low-carb would help/hinder??

Sorry, not much help there, not sure why I posted :rotfl:
  • Hi all!
Still working on the boat. We are due to be launched next Tuesday, much later than usual.
Had a lovely dinner last night. Mexican chilli tacos, without the tacos! Made a quick soya chilli (packet from Asda) and then added lettuce, creme fraiche and grated cheese. Yum yum! Will be having that again methinks.
Weather here still glorious. 'is nibs is currently outside sanding down the toe rail which means I have access to 'puter! 'Twill be me doing the varnishing later though.
Vegetarian. Have cut out all high carb food. Not following any particular plan.Started 20/1/2009. Weight lost so far 29lbs. Target weight loss 38lb in total.

Serena, I have heard that coconut oil is very good for the bowels!! I can't vouch for that as I don't use it myself.

If you do get constipated, fibresure is supposed to help & also phsyylium (sp?) husks. Linseed/flax is another option.

focus, I tend to stick with berries if I'm eating fruit, usually raspberries & blueberries (gorgeous with double cream) or you could have rhubarb for a change.

Sweet Serendipity - I was getting weighed in the evening only because it was at WW, I had 12 free weeks, and another 12 now that I've lost 5%. But I dusted of some old digital scales that were in the loft and if they are to be believed I've lost a goodly amount this week. I didn't get weighed last night, visited my mam and stayed too long, so going to a different WW tonight to jump on the scales there.
There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.

I too eat berries more than fruit now, I buy a pack of mixed frozen, Iceland or Asda £2, split it into 8 portions, then add 1 to yogurt or cream, sometimes for breakfast sometimes in the evening if I need an ice cream substitute.
I do have some very small Gala apples and I have about 2 a week as a snack, and also a few grapes now and again, maybe 20ish over a week.
