Focus, can you give us the recipe for piri piri chicken, sounds lovely.

sure thing but do let me know if you think its not low carb :o

I get the schartz piri piri spice seasoning from any of the supermarkets, mix about 2/3 tbsps with some lemon juice, olive oil and salt and pepper. It smells so nice when its cooked and tastes really delicious :D

Another way i cook chicken is to mix coriander powder and cumin powder together with some salt and pepper, gives it a southern taste, not exactly kfc but its still nice to me. I use more coriander powder than cumin powder as thats stronger.

Not tried it yet but i found this recipe the other day and will be making it later this week. Looks yummy, i love parmesan.

Fwoargh! That looks fab! I'd been wondering how to do chicken wings for a while & that sounds delish!

That reminds me - I've been wondering how to do salt n pepper spare ribs (like from the chinese takeaway).

    so dry....cough......need water....cough....mouth like a desert...

As usual I haven't had enough to drink. Really must try harder (as my teachers used to say)

Just made a giant quiche, jelly with berries in it & a low carb-ish cheesecake.
Mixed soft cheese with quark (cozI don't like cream, but cream would do). A little grated lemon zest & some gelatine/veganine (with a bit of lemon juice) have done this with orange juice/orange zest too. Oh, and a little sweetnener coz quark is sharper than cream. For the base I used a smidge of butter, ground almonds and usually I would add some chopped hazlenuts but didn't have any so put in a little dececated coconut. Popped in the fridge for 10 hrs....if I can wait that long, but already had a taste.:o
Sounds weird but tastes ok (would be better with the hazlenut rather than coconut though but the base was a bit bland on its own). Will do the fruit coolie thing that someone here suggested (fruit cooked with sweetener) for the top. I think something tangy would be best, or maybe blueberries? Will have a look to see what is low carb. Am far too lazy to do a baked cheesecake so thought this would be easier.

All this domesticity has made me tired....off to drink some water and vegetate.

    Hi everyone

focus - well done on your weight loss. Yey!!! :T:T:T

zero - that recipe looks lovely. Definately one for me to try and I think I have some tahini in the fridge that needs using up.

mazzers - I manage to drink a lot of water. I keep 2 x 1.5l bottles on my desk and take little sips from a glass all day. I always carry a 500ml bottle in my handbag, so I've got some handy on the commute as well. I think if water was a major part, I'd be really skinny :)

G&B - I've got the Neris & India' Idiot Proof Diet book and was humming and hawing about getting the cookbook. I think that's what sweet was referring to as IPD. Am I right?

suzyg - well done on your weight loss :T:T:T I see you have used up your butternut squash, but thought you might like a look at this recipe for future reference. I love it.

I need someone to teach me how to do the proper posh linkies :o:rotfl:

Today I have had prawns for breakfast, ham and cottage cheese for lunch. A boiled egg and smoked mackerel for snack. Tea will be a salmon fillet with some cottage cheese I think.

Time for a quick nap before tea. This getting up at 5.20 to fit in a half hour walk before work is starting to tell...and yes, I know its only Day 2!!! :p

Glad little gem is feeling better today, marrow, you must be so relieved.

zero, your rosemary chicken sounds good, love the smell of rosemary :D

rosy, thanks very much for posting the tarragon chicken recipe, it sounds gorgeous, hopefully Mercy will add to her famous recipe list ;) I will be trying it, tis funny you said about breast on the bone as I never buy it like that & have never really seen it tbh

marrow, I think adding chopped hazlenuts would give a cheesecake base a lovely flavour, good thinking woman!! :D A hazlenut in every bite??

skint, yes IPD is Idiot Proof Diet!! Sorry we do talk a lot in [STRIKE]abbreviations[/STRIKE] acronyms on this thread, lol!! Btw, well done on getting up at the crack of dawn so you can go for a walk, I'm impressed!! I used to do a lot of walking, once upon a time :o, and it definitely helped with the weight loss/toning up.

  • been in hiding the past few days because i fell off the bandwagon a wee bit.
Back to being strict though!!! Today I had -
B-2 boiled eggs and keto cocktail
L-double cheeseburger from McD's (no bun of course)
D- 2 salmon fillets and green beans and more keto cocktail.man, that stuff's vile, i always need to have some diluting juice(sugar free) ready to take the taste away.
