You dont need it in weather like this, get yourself in the garden instead.

Does anyone know what the recommended carbs are for Atkins OWL, i know its unique to everyone but there must be an average

I had soo many good intentions for today but i just cannot be bothered.

And its not the weather, i just cant get motivated anymore.

I'm too old, i need a cleaner *stamps foot*
Ooh foot stamping took the last of my energy, i need a sleep now

While you are in induction its 20g of carbs and then you introduce 5g each time you move up the rungs :) do you have the carb ladder for atkins? if not i could find it for you :D

Mazzers heres the carb ladder, i got it from a atkins forum :)

    The OWL Carbohydrate Ladder
The foods listed in each rung of the ladder below are examples of low AGR foods for their rung, unless noted to eat in moderation. This is intended to be an example of some of the foods you can eat, not an exhaustive list of all the foods you can eat. If you are unsure about where a particular food falls, just ask!

    1. Vegetables
More salad and other vegetables on the acceptable foods list

    2. Dairy
    Fresh cheeses:
    Cottage cheese
    Farmers cheese
    Ricotta cheese
    Pot cheese

    Keep portions small for:
    Hard aged cheese
    Cream, heavy and light
    Half and half
    Sour cream
Low-carb ice cream, yogurt, and milk

    3. Seeds and Nuts
    Macadamias
    Almonds
    Peanuts/Natural Peanut Butter
    Coconut
    Sunflower seeds
    Sesame seeds
    Walnuts
    Pistachios

    4. Berries
    Eat frequently from:
    Strawberries
    Blueberries
    Blackberries
    Raspberries

Eat moderately from higher AGR melons:
    Watermelon
    Honeydew
    Cantaloupe

    5. Wine and other spirits low in carbs
    Spirits
    White Wine
    Red Wine
    Low-carbohydrate Beer

    6. Legumes
    Lentils
    Kidney Beans
    Pinto Beans
    Black Beans
    Hummus
    Chickpeas
    Tofu
    Soybeans
    Soy milk, unsweetened

    7. Fruits other than Berries and Melons
    Plums
    Kiwis
    Peaches
    Apples
    Grapefruit
    Tangerines

    8. Starchy Vegetables
    Keep all portions small
    Carrots
    Green Peas
    Acorn squash
    Butternut squash

    Eat rarely:
    Corn
    Potatoes
    Sweet potatoes

    9. Whole Grains
Keep all portions small and focus on whole, unprocessed grains:
    Old fashioned Oatmeal
    Oat Bran
    Wheat Bran
Low carb (soy) bread and muffins
    All-bran
    Barley, cooked

Thanks focus, i forgot that you had to introduce in 5g increments,
I am missing fruit in this weather and am wondering if Dr D's plan will be suitable for me.
I really need a BG monitor.

I did start on atkins, but have just stuck to as lc as i can after induction.
I dont really count and am wondering if an increase will stop me losing altogether, what i really want, is to know exactly what i should avoid personally, eg, why avoid apples if they dont affect me iykwim.

Dr D does allow fruit, i know Ted eats some fruit other than berries.

I suppose i should stop being impatient and wait until i've lost much more, maybe then i can increase my carbs to maintain.

    I'm just a bit fed up icon9.gif

Its prob cos one friend is in Paris and another is in Gran Canaria and yet another goes to Spain next week

    I'll get over it ;):D

Oh, I am soooo embarrassed!! :o:o:o!!

Just been caught strutting my stuff & singing along to Beyonce Crazy in Love by the window-cleaner!! Eek!! :o:o:o

Never heard him because I had the music blasting as I was doing housework - it helps get me motivated, lol!! Hid in the downstairs cloakroom until my face had cooled down a bit & then went outside to pay & give him his cup of tea. I made a joke of it and, bless him, he said he hadn't heard me anyway!! I don't believe a word of it, think he was being a Gentleman & was just sparing my blushes, lol!! :o:o:o

at my old flat (2nd floor secluded gardens) I was caught by the windowcleaner one morning ironing a top for work.
    Totally topless.
Mind you I was really slim in those days so at least he didn't fall, blinded, off his ladder. Avoided him like the plague after that, though.

Not had a bad day until I was in the car with Mum and she offered me a Murray mint and I ate it without thinking. I reckon about 10 carbs a sweet so not the end of the world. Everything else I've eaten has been totally 'on message'.
