Has everyone gone to bed early?! Is it alias's garlic pong?! Have people defected to facebook?!
Ah well, just little ol me!!
Nothing much to report - I did some 'baking' this afternoon & twas disaster!! Attempted the coconut muffins - used daughter's smoothie maker as a blender & think some of the mixture got stuck in the bottom so maybe all the ingredients didn't go together quite as they should?!Anyway, smelt gorgeous in the oven, bit flat when they came out but really weird when I did a taste test!! The top was cakey nice but inside was a bit like a curd tart without the fruit?! Maybe I should have cooked them longer?! Wasn't sure if they are meant to be like that?! Oh & forgot to say I didn't use any Splenda cos thought I was sweet enough (sweet by name, sweet by nature!!) so that may have something to do with it?!
Will sample another one tomorrow & if still not right then I think the birdies can have the rest!! :rotfl:
I'm off to have a snuffle for something to eat now so goodnight everyone *voice echoes in the emptiness* :rotfl:0 -

Seconded!
I've heard in a round about way that shykins has stopped posting as we thought she was too bossy. Well I've never thought that, though it may have been alluded to in jest.
shykins, I think it is very kind of you to offer your knowledge if we get in touch. It would be very good to have you back here.
Big love

Thirded.
Went shopping earlier, so no excuses tomorrow as Ive got most of what I needed to do a few recipes.
Ive been trying to get my son onto this, but cant get him to eat salad or veg, except cucumber, and he loves bread. He puts just about everything between 2 slices.0 -
Im sure this has been answered already but I keep forgetting to drink water during the day and end up trying to gulp down a few glasses before bed, then up peeing half the night (sorry if TMI), so does tea, coffee, and diet drinks count towards your intake.0

For me, tea and diet drinks definitely hinder my weight loss. I still drink them
but I do better on the days I don't. I dont drink coffee but I would imagine it would be the same.
Water is really the only fluid that works best in hydrating you and helping lose fat. (Which is a bummer cos I hate it....I have to drink the fizzy water, it's the only way I can handle it  .)
Morning everyone, sunny day here today. Doesn't match my mood though as I had another rubbish sleep last night. I really must sort out the things that are on my mind otherwise it'll be next year before I get a good night's sleep again. Missing out on sleep is unhealthy, it makes you eat more as it's your body's way of trying to compensate for the nourishment & healing it's not getting through sleep.
Anyway, I've now come to the conclusion I know when my body is chucking off it's next pound. There are some evenings where I am thinking about food every 2 seconds and I just seem to feel constantly hungry, even although I could well just have eaten 20 minutes before. I've been keeping a note of when this happens and every time, I have weighed myself the next morning and I've lost a little. Last night I was having a hard time from the minute my last forkful of food went into my mouth at dinner. Food was all I thought of from then until around 8.30 when I gave in and took myself off to bed to try to not think about it anymore. Weighed myself this morning and I'd lost 2 lbs.
So, moral of the story: try to equate your really hard times with the thought that that is the precise time you are losing some fat. Your body needs energy and it's calling for food the way a baby cries for milk. If you don't feed it, it has no choice but to melt some fat and use that instead.
*takes off self appointed psychologist hat and steps down* :rotfl:
Btw...on a different note, I was a bit worried I'd been too kinda 'in your face' on this thread, sometimes I forget other people are not as loud or that they have a different sense of humour etc so I pm'd Shy and Tink in case their absence was down to my jokey comments about bossiness or because I'd gone OT too often etc and to apologise if it was. They were both kind enough to assure me that wasn't the case. (Unless of course they were lying :rotfl: ....but I dont think they were, lol.)
Btw...I still hate salmon. I tried really hard to like it last night, but even with a lime flavour I still hate it.Herman - MP for all!0 -
thanks aliasojo - makes me feel alot more positive about feeling hungry. never really thought of it that way before but it should help me resist more easily in the future. although chocolate seems to be my downful at the moment - i never should have had my first square! I have avoided peanuts this time round and am quite happy not having any at all. wish i had done the same with the chocolate.....:rolleyes:My name is Paula and I am a low carber

Good morning all :hello:
Another day stuck in as daughter still off school with manky eye, thinking it might be conjunctivitis so got appointment with Dr. this afternoon.
Managed to do a quick shop last night so at least I have some l-c food in for today. Least said about yesterday the better.
Tried the splenda-free coconut muffin again this morning, more solid now but still yuk so the rest are going out for the birds - hope I don't poison them!!
Menu for today
B - 3 cumberland chipolata sausages & 1 piece bacon
L - [STRIKE]salmon salad[/STRIKE] rhubarb muller rice & tunnock's tea cake
D - Chicken & cheesy leeks
Had 6 strawberries pre-brekkie to take away the taste of the muffin!!
Interesting theory on fat burning alias & well done on the 2lbs loss!! Yay!! :j
It's a shame Shy has decided not to post on here anymorebut good to hear it's not because of the 'bossiness' teasing. It was always a term of endearment & never malicious - I hope she does realise that. I'm hoping Tink still pops by with her pearls of wisdom, we can't afford to lose another expert.
Anyway, subdued happy days everyone.0 -
