Hello all!
Gorgeous day, birds are singing, OH is happily snoozing on the couch.
Not v hungry today -so far, probably because its warm . Didn't have brekkie (bad girl) but making a scrummy vegetable soup for later.
Just ate a forkful of pasta (stolen food is carb free don't ya know) and feel quite queezy now. That'll teach me."I am not a vegetarian because I love animals; I am a vegetarian because I hate plants." A. Whitney Brown0 -
i don't know what to cook for this evenings dinner, i have two pork chops i should use up, and half a butternut squash it getting used to the new way of eatting without potatoes and rice??0

Been good food wise, but have had a few stellas, i deserved them as i have been drilling to put up a nice new hanging basket and did all the front garden and filled my pots, tis looking lovely
Didnt do a bbq, couldnt be @rsed to clean it for just the 3 of us.
Instead, i flattened half a chicken breast each and rolled mine with garlicky soft cheese and wrapped in streaky bacon, theirs had HM stuffing and wrapped bacon, jkt spud/coleslaw, garlic mushrooms, corn on the cob, salad and garlic bread, i had mushroms and roast pepper with mine, was really lovely.
I am now relaxing on the bed with my trusty lappy
WW, i lost a long post about supplements but to recap, i take a multi vit/mineral, and cla, fish oils and glucosamine, trouble is, if you read about them, its hard to know where to draw the line so i would take a look on somewere like simplysupplements.com and decide what you think is relevant for you.0 -
i cut a chicken breast in half, whacked it flat (with rolling pin between cling film)
Wish I'd thought of using a rolling pin when I made zero's pesto chicken (where has zero got to btw??) - my frying pan is now a strange shape, lol!! I blame Jamie Oliver on the Ministry of Food programme for that, just copied his idea!! I like the sound of your 'chicken tonight'bet it was lush!!
suzy, did you have your pork chops for dins?? Have never used butternut squash but I know you can roast them in wedges.
marrow, did you have a stock base for your veggie soup?? What did you put in it?? I'm just being nosy because I love soup!!
Have been busy doing my meal planning/budget today, found a great website via the Old Style forum - look under 'June Grocery Challenge' - it's a sticky - it has info on planning meals & loads of recipes that could be adapted for low-carb.0 -
Oh no! I was lured out of the house by a magical musical tune and the next thing I know I've scoffed down a 99 with a flake. Beware fellow Icers!!
Sweet: used up the veggies from the fridge that were about to turn. 2 onions, a few carrots and a load of celery. If OH is having it I tend to put a bit of chicken bovril instead of stock, but if its me I put a little veggie stock stuff and a few herbs if I haven't got particularly tasty veg. Today's veg was Mr Ts value so added a little basil and parsley. If I'm feeling naughty would put some broth mix (split peas and the like) but today I needed to make up for the ice cream.
Celery soup is nice, so the mix wasn't too bad.
OH makes a lovely soup with the carcas of a chicken, anything he adds to it tastes lush, obviously in my omnivore days!"I am not a vegetarian because I love animals; I am a vegetarian because I hate plants." A. Whitney Brown0 -
Evening all
Are you all following any particular plan?0 -
Evening,
Nah, I'm just cutting out the major carbs like bread, pasta, rice and potatoes. That's strict enough for me! Eating more veg, especially green leafy stuff and a little fruit. Seems to be working, but probably not as quickly as the strick folks.
Weighed myself today and was 4 lbs lighter than last Sunday but wasn't on the same scales so waiting til I visit my folks til I do any celebrating in case I find out i'm actually heavier!"I am not a vegetarian because I love animals; I am a vegetarian because I hate plants." A. Whitney Brown0 -

evening all, im the same as marrowgirl, only cutting out the major carbs at the moment to get my head around it and then will eventually start doing atkins because i have the book already lol. today is my 21st day on the diet :j they say that it takes the average person 3 weeks (21 days) to get into a new habit so im happy because i havent had any of the major carbs in 3 weeks and dont feel miserable lol. Think tomorrow i will try to be alot stricter to get better results. as of Friday morning ive lost 10lbs, dont have any scales at home so cant weigh myself until i next go into boots  apart from that im very happy!!!0

SSl, i started on Atkins but just keep carbs low now, in my mind i think i'm being extremely good, but i once read back to find something and was shocked how often i had strayed.
I mostly dont get very hungry, so go too long without eating and i think that stalls me, also, i try to drink 2 litres of water but rarely manage the whole 2 litres and have read somewhere that that can affect loss.
On average i have lost a lb a week, making it a stone this week, i would like to lose faster but only started doing it to control high BG so am happy to be losing at all.0
