    Good morning all :hello:

Up early even though I had a late night & hardly any sleep last night  Not looking for sympathy, twas all my own doing :rotfl:

Tis another beautiful day here, got the patio door open & listening to the birds tweeting away :D

Welcome to another Scottish newbie  Does sound a bit like Slimfast, as focus said, but if it works for you & you feel ok doing it... I would make sure you get plenty of low-carb veg with the dinner part - broc/cauli/leeks etc. Also, I'm assuming you will be taking supplements?? Good luck with it & keep posting to let us know how you get on.

I had a busy day gardening yesterday so am going to have a lazy day today :)

mazzers, I'm going to meal-plan today & hopefully start the budget thing tomorrow, going to try & be organised as really need to cut down the spending on [STRIKE]rubbish[/STRIKE] food

Have a lovely day, everyone

    Hi
I have decided to stop lurking & join as well. I was going to start Celebrity Slim, but £32 for starter pack then £24 per week was too much money. I have PCOS and find losing weight very slow and therefore disheartning. Had bad chest infection 10 weeks ago & decided to quit my 40 day fag habit, haven't had a ciggie since. Today I got low carb shakes from Tesco @ 99p each & a set of scales (15st 2lb) and todays menu was:
    B Vanilla Shake
    L Strawberry Shake
    D Chicken Salad
Snack - Kiwi, Cheese, Small packet peanuts
    Drank 2lt water
I know this isn't True low carbing but having the shakes for breakfast & lunch stops me thinking about food I only have to think about dinner & 3 snacks a day. It is Celebrity Slim's method except that their shakes are £1.99 each.
Can any one say whether they think this is going to work or not.
I also went for a walk around the park & intend to do this every day.

Hi, WW i've seen the lc shakes in tesco.
I used to use lc shake powder from lowcarbmegastore, it did work, i think its a bit like lighter life but much cheaper, and all are similar to slimfast but are lc
I tried slimfast but didnt lose a sausage as too high in sugar, couldnt understand it at the time, but a bit wiser now :D

I have occasionally had a shake for brekkie when i dont feel like eating as they do keep you going, but now, would rather wait a bit and have a proper meal as you dont lose any more weight and it is depriving yourself for nothing.

You can eat lots as long as its lc so why starve:confused:

Welcome and good luck anyway icon7.gif

    TMI :rotfl:
I think i'll do my budget thingy tomorrow too, dont kno how much to allocate to food shopping though, £100 seems a lot for 3 people but lc isnt cheap and keeping up with the boys chomping isnt either.
I think i'll go through my bank statement and see how much i've been spending and try and cut it back.

Focus, well done on sticking to lc.
Dont know whats wrong with me, after getting that pizza, all the way home i was thinking that i'd just as happily have a cooked chicken.. but i didnt :o
I'm fed up of cooking seperate meals and just wanted us all to have the same thing.. thats my excuse anyway ;)

I think i'tll be a bbq today so we'll all be having the same.. almost anyway icon14.gif

Does anyone remember how long newish and paula said they were away for
Cant wait to hear the goss.

If you think that's TMI, maybe I should have said some of it came out of my nose!! :rotfl:

Just found out that eldest daughter was also sick last night, so now wondering if it was a dodgy burger??

That's a good idea & I bet it will be frightening when you see how much you have spent!!

I used to allocate £100 a week for 4 of us, sometimes I managed it but I was usually a bit over each week. I've been looking at a thread today where the budget was £100 for the month!! This was for 2 adults & a toddler but it really made me think about how I need to reduce my shopping bills. Btw, I know it's so easy to pay for shopping by debit card, I do it all the time & I think that's why I spend so much, but I'm going to start paying in cash as I think/hope it will rein my spending in a bit!!

    Me too

Enjoy your BBQ, just make sure your burgers are cooked properly!! ;)

And gaye off on a boat til Sept.

Have been spending about £400 a month in supermarkets, didnt count online stuff and some of that is for this diet.
I thought it would've been more as there's always nice food here but i would like to cut back, maybe 75-80 would be realistic for just 3 of us.

I could be making other cutbacks, a couple of days ago i cut a chicken breast in half, whacked it flat (with rolling pin between cling film) seasoned, dipped in egg (kept the rest for scrambling, very mse) and breadcrumbs and cooked in oven with some wedges, they had it in a roll with salad and mayo and said it was fab, as good as Mcd, praise indeed, and that was just one breast for the two burgers.

My monthly shopping bill used to be £100 per month for the 2 of us with 1 extra at the weekends. Its fairly easy if its based around carbs (adding porridge oats and lentils to mince to stretch it). I'm about to go to the shops now to stock up. It will be v interesting to compare. Thats why I gave up in the past, because of the expense. Now that I have sorted out my finances, I think I can cope with the larger food bills.

    Hi Everone
& thanks for the warm welcome, I am only doing the low carb shakes until I get to grips with low carbing. It means I just need to take 1 shake & 2 snacks to work, instead of having to think of what to take which is where I fall down. The Shake from Tesco is Carb Control in Strawberry or Chocolate Flavour. I am slowly reading through this forum but I'm only at page 10, what sort of supplements should I be taking?
