Thankyou all for replying to my questions. I went out and found organic coconut oil but it isn't liquid in the jar, like Sean''s on the video, so is it the right stuff. I looked in H&B where there was a big tub forn£9.99 but it wasn't organic so went to a small place - very lentils and sandal lol.
I have put a teaspoon in my coffee this morning and I could easily drink it like that, so how many teaspoons a day would I need? Sorry to be a pain - I have ordered some books but am eager to start asap.
Also, am I right in thinking that I now sling out all the low fat marg, cheese, mayo and skimmed milk? Do I replace with full fat everything? I am feeling a bit out of my comfort zone having been eating a high fibre, low fat diet for so long.
thanks in advance
Jane
The coconut oil is liquid only in warmer climates, i keep mine in the conservatory in this weather, it is usually solid in GB :rotfl:
I was only having it in my coffee, but jordylass has been having 3-4 tbspn and she said her fat is melting off.
I think it can upset your stomach tho so introduce gradually.
Yes to the full fat, i found it strange putting 'blue top' milk in my coffeee in work.
As for marge, i have an e-mail about it, saying that it is only one molecule away from being plastic, that it never gets 'mouldy' and if it is put outside no insects will go after it, even ants wont touch it.
I havent tested that yet tho.0 -

Tis a beautiful day hereHope it's lovely where you are.
Supposed to be going to Scarborough for the day today but I'm still feeling blocked up (in the nose, not the other bit, lol!!) so don't really feel like goingStill don't know if it's a cold or hay-fever but I'm thinking hay-fever as my nose is ticklish. Going to have a shower & hopefully that will refresh me.
mazzers, did you ever start your weekly budget?? How is it going?? I haven't started mine yet as the kids are off school & we are doing days out etc this week. Definitely need to start doing it next week though, money isn't stretching very far these days.
Have a good day everyone
I havent started my budget yet, is so much easier taking a card to use but i am going to do it, maybe we can both start next week.
Have a great day out, its beautiful here too.0 -
Morning all.
Must have missed the talk of budgets....just been doing mine this morning (I have a Works spreadsheet thing that I list money in / money out etc) as we get paid at the end of the month. Depressing reading this morning I have to say. Icing isn't cheap I'm finding.
Nice day up here today. I'll be spending it replace the architraves and reveals round my kitchen window and doors and taping and filling the plasterboard joins in a cupboard. Oh I'm soooooo looking forward to it. *huge amounts or sarcasm* OH has his talents but DIY isn't one of them unfortunately.
I've got lamb burgers to have today. I dont like lamb as a rule but I'm getting fed up of the 'same old same old' so I thought I'd give these a try. Tesco finest jobs....flipping expensive so they'd better be worth it. Wont be buying them as a 'usual' cos they're too dear but I figured once in a while wont hurt. I've also got flavoured sausages which are slightly higher in carb than I usually buy but again, I needed a change.
Hope you all have a good day and I hope you dont sneeze your way through Scarborough, sweet.Herman - MP for all!0 -
Coconut oil will certainly help with any blockages as well!
I started supplementing all of my butter/oil in cooking with it and haven;t had any ill effects but I know some people do get an upset stomach with it.
I got my 10Kg from coconoil this morning. I did have some of the cheaper stuff from the Indian shop, but it's awful to cook with, spits continually. There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.0 -
OH made a massive bowl of sugar free raspberry jelly with a tub of frozen raspberries in. Lush. Lovely in this weather with a bit of cream on the top. Seems to stop him getting the munchies, especially watching the box. (munchies seem to increase while watching the Apprentice-hopefully after the final I'll be able to lose weight again!
)
Not sure I could stomach the coconut oil. Oil seems to make me barf since having my gallbladder whipped out. You are very brave dedicated peeps!"I am not a vegetarian because I love animals; I am a vegetarian because I hate plants." A. Whitney Brown0 -
Not had a chance to watch the links mazzers posted yet but will definitely look over the weekend
dont know if i can stomach coconut oil and also not sure i can afford £10 a tub
i think this diet is expensive already and i feel confident i will still lose weight even though it might take abit longer.
after the disaster with the broken scales i was just too curious about my weight so i went into a boots with some scales and weighed myself. Lost 1lbwhich although could be more im still very happy about. I know what my weakness is and how to get better results so thats what i will be working on for this week

I received my coconut oil today too!! Stirred a spoonful into my coffee and took a teeny tiny sip already wearing an "ick!" face but it's actually quite nice! If I always have my coffee like this then I will never need to buy a lipbalm again!! Brilliant! Have a bit of an issue in that the smell of it appears to be driving my pooch wild, he is trying to climb on the desk to get a slurp from my cup as we speak!!!0
