Hi guys, just popped in to say hello. Been really busy at the minute so haven't really had too much time to gab. Some interesting links been posted which I will read through next time I'm on. I was in bed but had a head full of all the other stuff I need to deal with and so couldn't sleep (just for a change ) so I got up for a quick cuppa in the hope it would just break the cycle a wee bit iyswim.
My coconoil arrived yesterday (since it's well after midnight I'm posting, lol) but I haven't opened it yet..will do so tomorrow though. It goes a long way, the sample I had has stretched quite far....as well as frying my eggs in it, I've been putting it on my heels and wearing sandwich bags on my feet around the house to heat it up and help it soak into the skin. :rotfl:Working lovely it is.:D
Ok see you all later, eyes getting a bit tired now. *waves*Herman - MP for all!0 -
Right, back to lc today, i enjoyed my day off.
I am going to be busy so see you folks later.

Did anyone see that programme on the BBC (think it was the BBC anyway!!) last night about weight loss? Quite interesting it was! There was a bit about eating more protein and less carbs.0

This is the study I saw about high fat and seizures, it's called a Ketogenic Diet
http://pediatrics.aappublications.org/cgi/content/abstract/102/6/1358
It's also the case that as lactation continues over a year the percentage of fat INCREASES so it becomes NATURALLY more ketogenic. You'd better keep that information to yourself or those pesky health professionals will be putting pregnant and lactating mothers on Statins to reduce all that nasty cholesterol they are feeding their babies and make sure they all eat low fat themselves to reduce the fat content of breast milk.
We all know that health professionals know better than evolution what's an appropriate diet for babies. My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

Good morning all :hello:
Looks like we are going through one of our 'famine' times where posts are few & far between
Thanks Ted for your links, love reading them.
Hello to newbies & thanks for adding links, always welcome.
alias, good to see you posting, even if it was in the dead of night!!
mazzers, glad you had a good day off & well done you for getting back to being good straightaway.
Hi Mercy, I had a small amount of rice with a curry the other night & felt exactly the same, bloated & stomach achey, won't be doing that again.
Well, I'm having a lazy day today, still in my PJs. Either got hayfever or the beginnings of a cold but feeling sorry for myself either way. Going to have a lovely hot bath & planning on staying in until I look [STRIKE]more[/STRIKE] like an old prune!!
Maybe see you all later. Have a good day everyone. :wave:0 -
Forgot to say, read this article yesterday about the benefits of eating soup - keeps you full for longer apparently.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/8068733.stm
Easy to incorporate soup (preferably HM) into a low-carb lifestyle & tis lovely with a blob of creme fraiche or cream swirled into it.
HM soup - boil/pressure cook a leftover chicken carcass (or any other bones ie. gammon hock) to make the stock & after taking out bones etc. add leek, broc, cauli, green beans, seasoning etc & simmer until tender & either eat it like that or blend until smooth.
As you will see, I'm no cook, but I think there are proper instructions on how to make HM soups on the Moneysaving Old Style thread - just adapt to make low-carb.0 -
May i join you lovely folk over here? I need to lose about 1/2 to 3/4 of a stone maybe a little more, we'll see how i feel.
I was 10st 4 but i am now just under 9st, i did this by following the Paul McKenna system which is great but i just cant shift the last little bit:rolleyes:
My husband and i have just started low carbing - he has a fair bit to lose! Need some breakfast ideas for when i'm in a hurry, i'm fine when i have time to make eggs and bacon etc but i need a quick breakfast for work days. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
OK, well after about three weeks off the LC (and not really on the French diet due to lack of time and lack of kitchen), I've eaten an abundance of cupcakes (both chocolate and lemon), half a tub of dairy-free icecream, bread or pastry almost daily and wine even more frequently - even some beer and cocktails inbetween.
After 3 weeks, I stepped on the scales.
10st13. Exactly the same.

Morning everyone
got on the scales this morning and I've lost the lb I put on over the weekend so pleased about that.I've got my wii fit to do later as OH is on a late so once the kids go to bed it'll be just me and the tv remote.I've had a bacon, mushroom, sausage and onion omelette for my brekkie and it was yummy.I've taken some mince out of the freezer so I think I'll make a chilli later for tea with yoghurts and the stewed strawberries that Mazzer concocted. They are lovely with yoghurt you should try them
Mazzer glad you enjoyed your day off
Guns and Banjos welcome LC is easy once you get used to it

Badger,
if you can eat what you like and stay the same, is that so bad? Maybe after a while you could go back to icing again and after cup cakes and all it would have an effect?
