    Hello!

Sorry not been around, got caught up in stuff.

I've not gone off the rails foodwise, much. (Well except for chinese on Sunday, didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would and the small amount of rice left me with bloat and stomach ache :() Being a long weekend and having so much free time has played havoc with teetotalling though. And I didn't get enough water.

Pleased to say I have only put on 3lbs of that loss (7lbs) from last week which makes it a more believable figure of 2lbs a week. Think I'm still retaining some water so hoping for good things next week.

Hello to new folk! Hope you like it here!

    Love to all!

Oooops, i've had a day off

I knew i shouldn't have made Jamie Olivers brownies, never made them before and wanted to treat the boys, they are so lush and the easiest 'cakes' i've ever made.
    I had FOUR.
    Gone downhill from there really.
Chip butty, crunchy nut cornflakes and beans on toast is on the agenda. :o

Ah well, maybe it'll give me a boost.

Is coconut oil better for you than olive oil?
    Yes IMO
Look at the omega 6, linoleic acid, content of the oils here and you see CO only has 2% omega 6 while olive oil has 9% omega 6

I don't know how many of you have been following Stephan's revelations at Whole Health Source but he's been piling up the evidence against omega 6 (although 4% is vitally important more than that adds to your pro inflammatory status and is implicated in lots of inflammatory conditions (sort of like the total opposite of Vitamin D3 and omega 3)The leaflet I point to doesn't explain that all saturated fat isn't equally bad. Most of the saturated fat (the fat that solidifies at room temperature) in CO is medium chain triglycerides that are easily broken down and used as fuel, (in place of glucose)

Calorie-Count Menu Laws - A Load Of BolognaI just love a rant. Here's a good one.

Most fat people are insulin-resistant, so their bodies have to produce a higher level of insulin to keep their blood sugar down. Unfortunately, the elevated insulin also commands their bodies to store calories as fat, which means those calories are not available as fuel for the muscles and organs.

As a result, fat people have to eat more to avoid running out of fuel. If they simply eat less, their cells begin to starve. The urge to eat eventually becomes overwhelming – that’s Mother Nature doing her job, protecting the organism. If fat people ignore this powerful, primal urge, their bodies respond by slowing down their metabolisms, which means when they finally give in and eat more, their bodies will store even more fat than before.

Exactly Ted, it is such a misconception that fat people are greedy, most of them are victims of their blood glucose levels, i feel so sad for them as they are unaware of this.
I thought i would never lose weight, as i'm sure most of them do.

I always thought that something odd was going on when a human being could actually eat itself into the huge beings we see in America, it seems so against nature and obviously is.
I cant believe i can go so long without needing or wanting food, previously, after three and a half to four hours i would be ravenous, and all along it was dips and spikes in BG.
I also feel angry that i have not been advised about this, the evidence is there, and i needn't have ever gained weight in the first place.

Even MORE Bad Science: Triglycerides Predict NeuropathyAnother good rant here. It really makes me so mad that people accept what they are told without thinking. We are simply being stitched up by scientists who refuse to believe the obvious that it's the carbs that are the root of the problem and not the fat.

Ted, could you post an example of what you eat on an average day for me?

    Thanks :-)

This suggests that high fat diets are beneficial for people who experience seizures.

There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.
