Dr McCleary's Ketogenic Cocktail. It comes from this chap's book The Brain Trust Program.

1-2 tablespoons MCT oil Medium Chain Triglyeride oil Coconut oil is about 60% MCT so you could use that if you can't find a cheap source of MCT)
    1tsp-1tablespoon flaxseed oil
50mg EPA (high epa fish oil)

These are really to provide an alternative fuel source for the brain. (Dr McCleary is recommending them for hot flashes foggy thinking, mood swings and they are particularly useful at or even before starting on a low carb diet. Think if them as rocket fuel for the brain.
My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program
    Start 23rd Jan 2008 14st 9lbs Current 10st 12lbs

I can't find it again now, but when I was looking for info on low carbing I read about a survey/report or something about coconut oil treating epilepsy. From what I can remember it was a very successful in stopping seizures, something to do with the brain needing carbs to have the seizures and apparently was widely used pre good seizure control drugs, but is now only used if 2 different types of meds aren't succesful.
There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.

I couldn't find it in Ted's reply so copied this from elsewhere:
    Dr McCleary's Ketogenic Cocktail.
1-2 tablespoons MCT oil 1tsp-1tablespoon flaxseed oil 50mg EPA

As I've stalled for the second time after losing 20lbs I've decided to give it a go but I haven't a clue what MCT or EPA is?
    Anyone help please?

    See Teds post above.
MCT is the coconut oil and EPA is the fish oil i believe.
