Just back from a day out at Flamingo Land Theme Park/Zoo - had a fab time (mostly). Made the big mistake of going on a piddly easy looking ride (self-propelling 'bike' about 12 feet above the park) & was absolutely terrified & burst out cryingI'm really not good with heights _pale_
Anyway, still 'pretending' not to low-carb so I won't bore you with my menu for today
Where's alias today?? And Mercy??
Hope everyone been good today - I'm going to have wine tonight as need to calm my nerves.
I'm not so good with heights anymore either, it gets worse as you get older apparently.
I hope alias hasn't fallen off the wagon and is in hiding :rotfl:0 -
Jordy,
How are you taking your coconut oil? straight off the spoon? Liquid or solid? I keep on meaning to make those coconut/peanut butter things you mentioned the other day. Does it include those? I bought some coconut oil about 2 weeks ago and can't quite bring myself to open it (it comes in a jar and looks a bit like lard uuurrgghhh!).Vegetarian. Have cut out all high carb food. Not following any particular plan.Started 20/1/2009. Weight lost so far 29lbs. Target weight loss 38lb in total.0 -
I am eating those, they are more like sweets than anything else I eat. I also exchange it in recipes which ask for butter/oil/lard/marg.
What discount did that VEG offer give you? There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.0 -
Tis a day like this today.
And i have so much washing to do
And i missed the bin men
And i wanted to do some planting
My bread turned out the best ever yesterday tho, i kneaded it a bit longer and let it rise in the warm for a full hour and it rose a lot so is the biggest and lightest i've made
Gaye the coconut oil looks awful but is nice, i dont really like it off the spoon, (would be ok if it was melted i spose) so apart froma little in cooking and in my coffee i am thinking of ways to use it.0 -
I didn't get through any special offer; I had to get it from my 'local' (45 minutes away) health food shop.:)Vegetarian. Have cut out all high carb food. Not following any particular plan.Started 20/1/2009. Weight lost so far 29lbs. Target weight loss 38lb in total.0

Tis looking grey here too, forecast is wet & windy
Had a rotten night's sleep last night, kept waking up thinking about that stupid ride!! Also got a sore throat this morning, probably all that screaming yesterday
Going to have a 'chill-out' day today, starting with a lovely bubble bath.0 -

Hi all!
I've been reading this thread on and off for a while. I've never tried low carbing before but decided I'd give it a go last week whilst OH was away. I lost 2kgs! (I weigh myself on parcel scales at work). I haven't really looked into it too much as yet...just cut out bread, pasta, cereals etc. I'm also interested to read about coconut oil. I've had some Organic Coconoil in my cupboard for a while but somehow have a mental block about doing anything with it!
In an ideal world I would like to lose about 2 stone, so I think I might stick with the low carbing for a bit (although I do love my fruit and have been making smoothies...mmmm). Not following any particular plan but seeing what works for me.
What would you say is the best source of information about carbs etc? Also would be interested to read about your experience of coconut oil, your uses and whether you use it solid or liquid.
I'm a bit all over the place at the moment....I've also been reading about juicing and quite fancy giving that a go :rotfl:
