Hi Guys I'd like to join you, if I may. I did start WW recently but was dismayed at my weight loss and knew low carb would work better for me, so I gradually started cutting out the carbs and making sure what I did eat was low GI.
The lower my carbs went the better I felt, I knew I was going to carry on eating fruit and veg which I am, although I keep my fruit low, a small apple a few grapes or berries.
I also started to exercise regularly, a couple of times a week at the gym, twice a week swimming and joined a walking and cycling group (I never thought I would ride a bike)!
I have now decided to stop focusing on my weight I believe in 'set point theory' and just going to eat well and carry on with the exercise which I am loving and if I carry on feeling as well as I do now I'll be very happy.
I have a query though, I bought some coconut oil, the first jar very expensive from H&B, the next when I picked up some spices from the Asian food shop only £1.50, but I don't know how to eat it. I don;t think I could stomach it just from the spoon or on bread like butter. I am using it to fry food, but I don;t fry very much. I'd really liek to increase my intake of this and any advice would be appreciated. Oh, and as the stuff from the asian shop was cheap would it still be the unhydrogenated kind? There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.0 -
Gawd buttons, you're as nutty as the rest of us :rotfl:
Mercy wins hands down in the nuttiness stakes!!The rest of us just follow closely behind!! :rotfl:
Tis good to have a bit of nuttiness in your life!! Just not the Cadbury's Whole Nut variety!!
moomi, think you can have beansprouts?? I have Amoy Soy Sauce Light & it's only 0.5g per 5ml serving so that's ok.
Mercy, scratchings, no, no, no!! Next time I go to Home Bargains I'm going to buy some of those Golden Pork Crunch to try, mentioned by HC or newish?? I always get them 2 mixed up, lol!!
Sweaty feet smell?? Trainers, oven-cooked parmesan & EDAM CHEESE!! Pongeroonie!! :rotfl:
Buttons, enjoy your weekend in Darlo!! Not a million miles away from me.
Wakey, wakey mazzers, you in the land of the living yet?!
I'm off for a quick bath so see you all later :wave:0 -
Nearly forgot!! This is for alias/mazzers & anyone else who has clutter/hoards stuff etc (including me ).
I was surfing earlier (sounds energetic) because I remember watching a programme about people who have a cluttered house & how it has a negative effect on their mood.
These are a couple of quotes from the article
"Clutter and weight can be symptoms of unresolved, underlying issues in your life. Eating and buying is an attempt to fill a need for more. Underlying issues need to be dealt with. Oprah said that there is an illusion that things make you happy"
"Today's Oprah Winfrey Show featured clutter expert Peter Walsh who claimed that the clutter stored in your house correlates with fat on your body"
The article is called "Does This Clutter Make My Butt Look Fat?"

Hi jordy, yes of course you can join, especially because you are another Northerner!!
Mercy is the resident expert on coconut oil so hopefully she will give you more information. And Ted. And mazzers. I seem to remember that the coconut oil from asian shops is not as good?? Something to do with it not being Extra Virgin?? Think peeps either get it from H&B or Coconoil?? Was on offer recently so best to stock up if you think you will use it.
Good luck with low-carbing, it sounds like you are doing really well already.0 -

For my own sanity I need a break, Keira is obsessed with ben 10 and the 1st thing that's out her mouth and repeated 3473534584 times a day is "muuuuuum I want ben 10 skates" "Muuuuuum i want a ben 10 skateboard" "muuuuum I want a ben 10 bed" Don't you just love adverts on the tv!
Have a good sleep, I'm off to bed too
Ah yes, i remember.
Well have a great time, and wear the 'paps out' top, it'll be fine
Do your best to be lc but dont worry too much, enjoy the escape0 -
I just lost a very long philosophical post about clutter (and my dear departed mum)
and i'm not bloody writing it again. so there.
No hangover btw, i never do, but did expect a lie on, and would've had one if it not for the escaped lunatic carthorse that found it's way up and down my stairs at 9am..0 -
Oh and i had a lovely breakfast of buttery scrabbled eggs, followed by nutbread toast and (diabetic) marmalade with a hoooge cup of coffee. yum
I might just de-clutter my bedroom today.
Was actually thinking about it last night.
Have lots of unused perfume and creams etc, that cost a fortune and have prob gone off.
I might even put my clothes in the wardrobe, as opposed to hanging them on the door too
Eek, i have turned into my slobby sons..0
