Mercy...at the risk of asking a stupid question...the cocktail thing...is it just like drinking oil?

I tried to take caster oil when I was pregnant with the middle one and was well overdue as I'd been told it sometimes starts contractions. It didn't......but to this day I still gag at the memory. Dont think I could drink anything that was oily again.

It is a little oily but coconut oil is such a light one that if followed by a gulp of coffee it's gone. No oily after effects at all. Can't imagine drinking castor oil, that's just SOOOO oily and thick. Don't think coconut would have the same effect - mouthwise.

All you can do is give it a go, I like the very mild coconut taste. The flaxseed oil is kind of embedded in the quick drink so I never taste or feel it. I warm the coconut oil so it's liquid and as it warms it gets thinner, then run in the flax/linseed oil, and drink quickly.

I've found that the second dose at teatime means that eating about half an hour after I don't need to eat as much and don't get hungry later.

    (in an american accent)

Hey you gorgeous low carb ladies!

Fancy crisps? Well, you would. Crisps are a totally no go area here unless you give in and scoff the lot.

WELL I AM HERE TO GIVE YOU THE ALTERNATIVE!

Don't worry, grill streaky bacon (v cheap) til it gives in and snaps on provocation

Bake shredded parmesan or cheddar (with herbs? garlic?) in little grated clumps! 10 - 20 mins at 180'C will do it :) Don't use parchment (will stick and give you pain as you throw them away), they're ok on a simple roasting sheet / tin

Break the carb need to have potato crisps!

Make your own and find that (after the first 3 attempts) you don't need much of them either :rotfl: But they do hit a spot :)

We can all do crisps, lets let us do em slowly and find our tasty favourites :D

    PS there's always scratchings?
    There's ALWAYS scratchings, mind :)

hey everyone, i tried making the parmesan crisps & it was a complete disaster! Didnt think i could go wrong with a bit of bl00dy c heese on a tray!:rotfl:maybe cos it was finely grated already?? it just burnt & the whole house smelt of sweaty feet- NOT NICE!! after many candles later it finally dissipated (hard word for this time of night!) today i've had:

    salted nuts
    sausages for b/fast
    2l water
bacon, cheese & mushroom quche- without the pastry so omlette but baked in oven
    2 sliced parma ham- Lush
chicken, mushrooms, bacon & leeks in red pesto sauce with strawbs n cream.

erm as well, can you have beansprouts and soy sauce as i'm thinking stirfry may be possible?

Did I miss a question about bad eggs? Get a bowl full of tepid / cold water and stick the egg in:
    - If it lies flat on the bottom, it's fresh.
    - If the fat end sits on the bottom but the pointy end points up, it's fine to eat.
    - If it floats up off the bottom, it's gone bad.

Sorry if I totally missed the point there!

Moomi, my house always smells of sweaty feet, there are usually a pile of sweaty trainers at the front door with all the bloody smelly boys/men that come here.

I get free range eggs from a guy at my dads work and I have no clue about their expiry date, i'll just eat them regardless or shot them in a cake, can't taste them then :p

Oh god, Keira (my 3yo) just knocked my laptop off the table and now when you close the lid, the case at the back pops off and you can see behind the LCD screen, not good, so phoned my insurance and it's £200 excess, daaaaaang, might wait until the whole screen falls off first hah! I would take it to a laptop repair shop as that would be cheaper BUT it's a macbook pro - apple and costs about 2k, and most places specialize in regular old easy accessiable parts, apple store cost a fortune, I googled and if I was to send it to them to get repaired it would cost me about £960, because apparently you have to replace the whole uppercase which includes the screen, oh bobbins.

So for the time being, I will make do, and just not close the lid of the laptop, and once I can spare £200 get it fixed, couldn't live without this baby or go back to a microsoft lappy, I used my mums last week and was like an OAP trying to check their email for the first time.

Stuck to LC today, though I'm starving as the steaks I took out for dinner out the freezer went BOGGING, once they defrosted they went brown and smelled fruity, I almost barfed, so OH had to make do with a pastie from the freezer.

Going down to visit a friend in Darlington tomorrow until Monday so why I LC today I don't know because I won't be down there - Tis a holiday, i swear! Plus it's just not easy to do in someone elses house

Cereal for breakfast Karen? Sorry can't Im on Atkins
You want a ham sandwich for lunch? Sorry can't I'm on Atkins
    Spag bol for tea? Sorry.....

That's a typical menu so I'd be eating, um, nowt for breakfast, a slice of ham for lunch and bit of bol minus the spag.

    Filling!
