Lol Mercy, you're like our own resident cheerleader.
Good news on the weight front girl! :T
sweet...I did eat the dinner...and the choc ice cream...and the last tin of cider that was in the fridge and the 2 packets of tomato crisps in the cupboard and the flake.I'm sodding useless.
Back on it today though.
I smoked for 10 years (started age 14...I'm a disgrace I know) and it took me so many attempts to stop, I was thinking of changing my name to 'try again ojo'
. I made it one time though and haven't smoked for 20+ years now. Tbh, sometimes that thought is the only thing that makes me keep going....I remember how much of a slow starter I am and that I take longer to get there than other peeps. :rotfl:
So....on it again today. (I do hope no-one is keeping count:D)
Lesley I hope you survive the day with the ill kids.
Already ahead of you on the glove/smooth skin thing mazzers. Had them for ages therefore Sawyer would obviously prefer my 'even more smooth than yours' skin.:p < lots of them. :rotfl:
Wonder if those escapees have eaten in Denny's yet? They're bound to be getting better weather than us.
Well I have another shed to clear out today so I wont be sitting on my backside for long. I wish I wasn't such a hoarder, it's actually quite hard accepting that the rusty long metal pole in the corner really isn't gonna be useful for anything after all and it really does need to go to the dump.:rotfl: Yes, I am that bad.
Have a good day peeps.Herman - MP for all!0 -
hi thought i would join in a bit if that's alright, this is day 3 of my atkins type diet, thank god its my day off, i felt a bit knackered yesterday at work, any way just had some bacon and eggs for breakfast fried in olive oil (this still seems a bit wrong)really craving chocolate now..whats a keto cocktail? i keep thinking surely i will put on a stone as all im doing is eating fatty :eek:foods sue0
-
Wow mercy, i cant believe you lost so much, you must be delighted:T
You certainly deserve it with what you've been eating.
Dont fancy the double for supper cream tho
Sweet, we all know a peach has fabulous skin, so can you imagine its bum
Well, thats me, all over :rotfl: and alias apparently.
Alias, i am a terrible hoarder too, i really need things clearing out or i'll be ending up on life of grime.
My house always seems full of clutter, no matter how much i clear out
I've been wondering about why i'm always so tired, and have read that insulin takes blood glucose to the cells for energy, and i thought if i am insulin resistant, and my cell receptors are resistant to the insulin, does it mean my BG isnt getting to the cells and so i have little or no energy??
And if so, what can be done about it?
Any thoughts welcome and i am off to do some research.0 -
D'you think it matters if you eat 2 meals worth or calories in the one go?
I know in theory, icing is about counting carbs and not cals but in practice, if you sat on your backside all day not burning energy and eating loads more than you need then you're not gonna lose, are you.....even if it is hardly any carb you're taking in?
I have a box of eggs that are getting close to 'use by' (I'm anal about egg dates......happily eat other out of date things but eggs bother me *shiver*)
I'm considering making a 6 egg omelette but that would be 3 times the size my omelettes usually are.Oh the things I think about.:rotfl:
Mazzers I have no idea about the insulin thing I'm afraid but your theory makes sense to me. But then what do I know.......:rotfl:Herman - MP for all!0 -

Course you can
It does seem wrong but a high fat diet is fine as long as carbs are low.
Not a good idea to combine the two tho.
I had a lecture on Monday as my manager overheard me asking if we sold pork scratchings, I was told if people (me) put less in here (he pointed to his gob) and did a bit more they'd lose weight.
I used to think like that tho when i saw obese folk in the good old USA.
Didnt bother explaining, no-one believes you anyway.
I did point out that in maybe ten years time when its become common knowledge thats that what eventually sorted out diabetes, think of me.:D0 -
Jeez alias, you'll bloody explode if you eat six eggs in one go :rotfl:
I use them after the use by date, eggs didnt have a use by date when i was young, if they werent 'off' when you cracked them, you ate them.
Have three now, and three this evening, that doesnt seem so bad :rolleyes:0 -

Mazzers hun - I'm forever getting confused about this, and no doubt someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think if you are insulin resistant, it simply means your pancreas is having to produce more insulin to deal with the glucose in your bloodstream (coz it's not sensitive enough). Eventually even the increased insulin isn't enough to deal with the BG and that's where diabetes comes in. Also, the other thing is don't forget that glucose is only one source of energy. So when we minimise carbs, we switch from burning glucose to burning fat for energy. And this is what causes weight loss. (For some people, not necessarily myself tho lol :rotfl: ) And according to the low-carb school of thought, it is a more efficient source of energy than glucose anyways.

Too late. :rotfl: I had a 4 egg omelette with 2 slices of tomato, 2 slices of grilled bacon chopped up over it and a sprinkling of cheese on top. Shoved it under the grill and I is now a happy bunny.
Oh and btw...you are a very bad person for eating out of date eggs. *yeuch* *spit* and other such noises of disgust.:rotfl:
