Welcome to alex & nlj :)

B - bacon, egg, mushrooms & hot sauce
L - 2 buttered GG crispbreads with HM coronation chicken (just chicken, mayo & curry powder)
D - minute steaks, green mash/puree, creamy garlic mushrooms

I've also been having a 45g portion of salt & vinegar peanuts most nights, keep forgetting to mention it on here :o

I've done 2 x 20 minute walks today, bloomin' freezing!!

Good luck with the weigh-in tomorrow, eleanor :)

Thanks! I would love to lose another 2 lbs but 1 lb means a stone!

How many carbs in the peanuts? Are they that bad?

Must get me some hot sauce!

Hello everyone, mind if I join you all too?

Ive been LC for just over a week, trying to eat plenty of veggies too but no fruit so far apart from strawberries

My question is, I find it difficult to drink 2 litres of water a day, but drink copious amounts of tea, does this class as equal to intake?

I had a strange day yesterday, felt a bit dizzy and light headed, googled it and seems it may be normal due to low blood sugars, anyone else experienced this?

My blood sugar is normally ok, BP too

    thanks

Yes, eleanor73, will be having wraps with the beef fajitas.
Have undone all the good I did my back by commuting into London today and sitting most of the day. Will repair it tomorrow at the gym. Managed to resist all the scrummie looking sandwiches in the shops and had raisins and raw cashew nuts for lunch. Am now RAVENOUS. Off to get those fajitas cooking!
To the poster who asked about light headedness.......yes I had this too at first. It passed quite quickly, I think it's just your body chemistry adapting to the new regime.

It's just cauliflower cooked with curly kale, spinach or savoy cabbage & then blended (I use a stick blender) with a bit of butter & black pepper. It's lovely :D

Eleanor, the peanuts are 4.8g carbs for 45g. Is that too high for you?? I'm not being too strict.

    Hello to the newbies

Hi! Tea does count but some of the diets do advise against lots of caffeine as this can stall also are you drinking milk? Milk can stall some people as it has sugar in it (Lactose) Welcome to the board!

You will lose weight on this diet even if you are sitting down however exercise increases weight loss and tones you up so a day off won't hurt. At least you didn't start eating loads of sugar due to commuting boredom!!

    Hello to the newbies

Erm I could but I probably shouldn't due to trying to get my carbs from veg (otherwise I don't get enough veg!) Maybe as a treat!
I lost another 3lbs! So chuffed!! Now have lost 1 stone 1lb. So I only need to lose 2lbs to get 1 stone away from a healthy BMI which means I will be able to start expanding my foods in 2lbs time (if that makes sense!?) Very motivated today!! Think I'm going to buy myself some converse as a well done me present!

Thanks to this board for the support!

  • Well done Eleanor!! :T :T
What colour converse are you going for??

For anyone drinking milk, there is a lowish-carb one called Arla Lactofree. I've looked on mySupermarket & it's £1.34 for 1L. 2.6g carbs per 100ml for semi-skimmed. The whole milk is 2.7g per 100ml. There's a skimmed version as well but no nutritional information on the mySupermarket website. It'll be on the Arla website though.

I don't take milk in coffee, but I have a glass of Blue Diamond unsweetened almond milk - 0.2g carbs per 100ml. Costs £1 from Asda.

B - garlic sausage, edam slice. Leftover green mash/puree heated up with grated cheese on top.
L - very hard-boiled eggs (left them boiling for 28 minutes as I forgot about them!! :o) & lettuce wraps.
D - minute steaks, green mash/puree, cheesy leeks

I had the garlic sausage & cheese slice before my walk this morning & have just had the leftover mash warmed up in the microwave - it was lovely with the grated cheese on top.

    Hi

Back to the straight and narrow this year as I have put on 2+ stone  How easy it is to regain weight but now I have to knuckle back down after taking it a bit easy at the end of last year.

I thought that I would try the Zoe Harcombe diet for a couple of weeks but it has been too restrictive and I find this easier. I have lost 9lb but have stalled over the past week.

    How is everyone doing?

To all newbies I should mention that this really does work. I lost 6 and a half stone 2 years ago and felt so much better for it.

So, I am going to post what I am eating today and ask if I am doing ok? I am lacking a bit of confidence at the moment and hope that nobody minds.

breakfast: one poached egg, 1 rasher bacon and bubble & squeak made from cauli, brocolli and swede leftovers.

lunch: half avocado with 1oz cheddar & chicken salad. 2tbsp bio yogurt.

dinner: salmon with cauli / broccoli mash and mayo +
almond pancake with 2oz berries and a little cream

    snack: 1 sq 85% chcolate

drinks: 2 decaff coffee with milk, 1 decaff tea with milk, water

I reckon that this is around 40 net carbs

Thanks everyone and have a good day!!

I think Navy! I have pink, blue with gold dots and red so maybe navy! I don't want to buy clothes as hopefully will be slimmer!

What does the almond milk taste like?

It sounds like your menu is fine. Do you find that you lose on 40 net carbs? I am scared in a way to increase mine in case I stop losing.

It's good to see some of the previous posters here - I wouldn't want to think they are leaving it up to us newbies to run the show!!

Sorry I can't seem to edit or delete quotes on my pc at the moment so that's why I am quoting massive chunks of writing. Might have to stop that and just answer you rather than using multi quote!
