  • It was g&b who posted about the hot sauce - it's called Frank's & is available from Tesc0. I wasn't sure about it initially because it's quite vinegary smelling, but I do like it now, especially on bacon & eggs :D

I hate my scales, I'd much rather they told me just stones & whole pounds :(

B - 2 boiled eggs, babybel, garlic sausage
L - 2 buttered crispbreads with cheese. Garlic sausage
D - roast chicken, green mash/puree, cheesy leeks

I've been rushing around today & eating on the hoof, so no green stuff at lunchtime. I've had a decent walk though & plenty of water to drink. I've also had a glass of unsweetened almond milk.
  • This is the link for hot sauce.

I use the buffalo wing sauce, it's 2.7g carb per 100ml. I've used nearly a whole bottle this week:rotfl:

I just buy it in Tesco.

I've had it on omelettes, chicken, salads - pizza express house dressing mixed with this gives you a spicy & creamy amazing salad dressing!

Oooh I will have a look. I like vinegary so will prob like it!
I'm struggling a bit today. I had Mexican fudge for breakfast yesterday and today. I have enough left for the rest of the week but I am finding it very heavy and rich for the morning (and normally I love rich food) I am also constipated (sorry) and am not used to this. I am taking the psyllium husk so fed up it's happening. Worried I'm not going to lose on Thurs because of this. Not going to cheat but just don't feel on top of the world with low carb today!!

Sweets where do you get your garlic sausage from? Sounds tasty.

  • Eleanor, the garlic sausage is from M&S, 10 slices for £1.09. It's nice to just snack on.

Are you drinking plenty of water?? I've never taken the psyllium husk so I don't know how well it's supposed to work. I rely on the GG crispbreads as they are extremely high fibre & two of them a day, plus plenty of water & leafy veg usually works for me :o
  • Hi, can I just ask what GG crispbread is, I'm struggling with lunch options and not sure what GG is?

    Thanks

I have only just found this thread and have already picked up some helpful information.
have been doing a slightly different version of low carb since beginning of January. It is also no dairy except Greek Yoghurt, no processed foods and no sugar. Have had headaches and mood swings but seem to be through that now. Cured the worst of it by adding a little carb in the evenings.
Although it is extreme, it is definitely working. It's combined with a weight training programme. I need to shift weight as fast as I can following a slipped disc in november to ease the strain on my lumbar region. The recovery training is agreed with the physio, and although there is significant change in how I look the inflamation in my lower spine is not showing signs of improvement. DAMMIT!
Yesterday (with physio approval) I tried some interval training on the treadmill (in theory this is walking briskly until warmed up, then running as fast as I can until really out of breath, then walking again until breathing is back under control, then running again and so on) physio banned running but said I could try it with fast walking. The result has been a fantastic reduction in post exercise pain. Not so stiff this morning and moving much more freely.
Breakfast today will be scrambled eggs (2), lunch will be while travelling to work, so probably a handful of almonds, dinner is beef fajitas, with snacks of greek yoghurt and grapes to keep me going. the cheat I will allow myself is a sugar in my morning latte. In theory I should be having whey protein shakes as snack but I LOATHE them.
Well done to all on here losing weight. I hope I can manage it too.

Thanks yes I am drinking lots of water - some days more than others. Struggle to get up to 3 litres but usually manage at least 2. Maybe need to up my veg a little. It's hard when you are trying to stay below 20g of carbs a day. Hopefully it'll get better.

Will look at the garlic sausage. I have been having the sliced chorizo pack from sainsburys which is £1 and tasty.

They are from Holland and barratt and about 2.9g carbs each. V high in fibre. I've not had them though.

nlj1520 - well done on it working! I love interval/HIIT training on the treadmill and glad your version has made you feel better. So what carbs do you have in the eve? Did you have the wraps with the beef fajitas? (Jealous!)

  • Welcome to alex & nlj :)

B - bacon, egg, mushrooms & hot sauce
L - 2 buttered GG crispbreads with HM coronation chicken (just chicken, mayo & curry powder)
D - minute steaks, green mash/puree, creamy garlic mushrooms

I've also been having a 45g portion of salt & vinegar peanuts most nights, keep forgetting to mention it on here :o

I've done 2 x 20 minute walks today, bloomin' freezing!!

Good luck with the weigh-in tomorrow, eleanor :)
