Good luck franby, I have been on low carb for about a week (Monday will be first official weigh in) and I have had one or two difficult days where I fancied sweet snacking but I stay low carb all day and then eat carbs with the family meal at night.0
-
I find poached eggs keep me full, as a reasonably priced alternative.
I did Atkins some years ago and the weight fell off, but I love my carbs where can i find the full info on the one meal with carbs please.Do I need it or just want it.0 -
Have a search for Carbohydrate addicts diet and you should come up with loads of info.0

It's the Carbohydrate Addicts Diet by Richard and Rachael Heller, bought mine from Amazon for 1p0 -
I'm wondering what the deal is with carbs and dairy products?
I can't seem to find a clear answer anywhere.
Is plain yoghurt low carb or not? What about sour cream? (I used that as dressing paired with mayo a few times)0 -
milk is quite high, double cream less so, not sure about yoghurt, does it not mention it on the label on the yoghurt pot?0

It depends by what you mean as low carb. I have 100ml greek yogurt a day and it has 6.5 carbs. I also have 5oz milk and about 3tbp cream.
Lactofree milk / cheese / cream contain less carbs

For the first little while you'll need to read the back of all food packaging! I also find weightresources.com a good website for checking carb content. Eventually you'll build up a menu of allowable foods so you won't feel you've swapped calorie counting for carb counting! Good luck!0 -
I don't know how many of you live in London or visit occasionally? I had the most fabulous low carb breakfast ever recently, at podfood.co.uk.
I had 'energising eggs' which was scrambled eggs, sunblushed tomato, basil, mozzarella and avocado. It was beautiful. Okay it didn't quite match my usual coffee and chocolate croissant in pret but it came a close second! Eating out can be fraught with difficulty so I was pleased to find something.
Enjoy!
I've been Atkins for 7 weeks now and I've lost 16lb. I'm officially half way with only another 17lb to go! I've stayed in induction due to how much weight I have to loose but in 10lb time I'll move to OWL and then Maintenance which I'll take seriously this time, I promise!0 -
that podfood breakfast sound lovely caeler, there must be so much choice in London.
I've lost 1.7kg in my first week, that's about 3 1/2 lbs. Quite pleased with that.
I think I ate too many carbs at my reward meal last night, and 2 glasses of diet coke, I wanted to snack all evening, I had some cheese and salami instead but I also woke up really hungry. I think it's time for a bit more balance I think.0
