I've had this problem when I've ordered coconut oil on-line. I won't do it any more, it may mean paying more but I've not had a problem with any shop bought jars and if I ever do I can take it back easily. Might try the Barleans one that Murphydog (?) recommended on Amazon but only because I know the Amazon returns system works :p

Oh that's unfortunate, maybe it was just a bad tub. I've been using it for years as have our clients and family/friends. Never had a problem.

Which brand do you buy please, and where from?

The one I buy is tiana.

    Organic Coconoil

Must have bought literally 100s of tubs over the years as we supply to clients too. Never had the problem the two other posters mentioned though, strange.

They sent me replacements first but they were the same. I'm looking at 3 years or so ago. Did get a refund but have sourced elsewhere since.

Glad they have things sorted out now.

You don't have any control over what life throws at you.
You DO have control over how you react :)

    Hi,

Just to say that my "coconut bombs" that were made using just the oil at the end of my creamed coconut blocks worked. I was surprised how hard they set. To save money, I'll be using up these blocks. A local cash and carry has just the coconut oil in jars much cheaper than Holland and Barrett etc.

Totally devastated, I've put on another 2lb! Apart from a blip on Wednesday where I had a piece of fudge I have stuck to low carb all week so don't know what's happening. Today's weigh in has definately made me more determined than ever to stop the binging on high carb stuff. From tomorrow (I'm out all today) I'm going to post what I eat again.

I am sorry not to have posted but I have been away looking after dgd and my very pregnant daughter in law whilst my son works in the US and not been able to get to a computer.

durham_mim I am sorry that you are gaining but so am I, big time :(
In the past week I have put on 8lb  I haven't been able to stick to low carb rigidly whilst away but I have tried and this is the result and I am really fed up about it, as I am sure that you are.

Back to the drawing board but I seem to be gaining more than losing nowadays and it is frustrating.

Anyway, enough of my whinging, at least the sun is shining :)

How is everyone else getting on with life?

For those of you gaining weight again because you've increased your carb intake, don't panic! A large proportion of this will be water retention rather than fat gain, depending on the types of carbs you've been eating but especially so for more refined carbs such as breads, pasta etc.

For every 1g of carbs, the body retains 4g of water. This is why people often see a massive weight loss at the start of a diet, especially a low-carb one as it's predominantly water loss rather than fat loss.

It takes a lot longer than a week for fat to show up as such a high weight gain that some of you are reporting :)
