I won't comment upon the carb content, I'll leave that to the regulars here as I'm not sure of their "rules". But, if that's a typical day's menu then I'd suggest you're not actually eating enough food overall, especially healthy fats and protein and that might be why you're struggling to lose the weight.

Could you perhaps swap the lactocream for Greek yoghurt, obviously depending how lactose sensitive you are? I'm lactose intolerant but can manage (full fat) Greek Yoghurt ok. Otherwise St Helen's do a Goats Milk Yoghurt which is delicious and suitable for lactose intolerance, and is also gluten free.

I don't see why not. After all, it contains less sugar (carbs) than semi-skimmed or skimmed milk ;)

Yes, or even cream if you want.

If you're going low carb to lose weight, keep a eye on overall calorie intake but a reasonable intake of fat fills you up and reduces the need to snack.

I've already tried with the Greek yoghurt and I'm too sensitive to lactose. It triggers IBS.

    Mondays Menu

    Breakfast: 2 boiled eggs
Lunch: Pork chop with green salad. Macademia nuts & Peanuts.
Dinner: 3 sausages, mashed celeriac, mashed swede, broccoli & cabbage.

I don't know how I could possibly eat more. I feel as if I just finish one meal and its time for the next.

Well I went to get sausages out of the freezer and ended up eating a huge christmas pudding and custard - I'm going to blame DS2's dad, he's living here for a couple of months while he gets his flat sorted out and he [STRIKE]can't [/STRIKE]won't stick to my way of eating so I've ended up cooking rice and there's bread in the house. I think I'm going to have to have words...!

For reference I just discovered MSE doesn't like the link to the kekwick study I put up a few weeks ago on oops' thread and I realised I hadn't ever shared it on this thread so here's an interesting read: Calorie intake in relation to body-weight changes in the obese.

    Morning everyone.

Marbett, thanks for the encouragement. Its true once you start eating rubbish it is so hard to stop. I can't help having tempting stuff in the house as I have to buy for OH and DS. Atm there is a packet of chocolate biscuits calling to me but so far I've managed to resist. I'm hoping to make some low carb cherry cookies (like pink_princess's raspberry cookies only replaced with cherry), I ran out of low carb snacks and today is the first time I've had to do any baking. I was also thinking may be I've got too many nitrates in my diet. I am therefore limiting the amount of bacon. Today I am using the last rasher up.

    Menu:

Breakfast: 2 boiled eggs. 1 rasher of bacon
Lunch: Sardines with green salad. Salted Almonds
Dinner: Kaema with vegetable bhaji. 2-3 cherry cookies.
