I now drink my cocoa and mocha just with milk or cream, you do get used to it reasonably quickly if you just cut all the extra sugars/sweeteners. It's a bit of a vicious circle the sweetener thing, all the time you keep using them your palate doesn't adjust to not using them. And I am trying to cut down on the coffee/chocolate as per GP's orders but I do miss my fix if I try to go without. Got back on the caffeine over xmas and can't seem to kick it this time, probably the time of year as much as anything, hopefully it'll be easier when it warms up a bit and I'll move back to redbush.

  • I'm going to spend the day making low carb treats for the next few days.

I have a huge piece of pig skin for crackling.
Coconut oil to make chocolate bombs.
Flax and almonds to make raspberry cookies, I'll also make some almond butter one's.
    Mixed berry sugar free jelly.

Think I will also try the mocho danish thing (SP?)

    Brekkie is sausage and egg.

Lunch will be nothing as I will have picked at everything I make :p

Tea will be poussin with curried zero noodles.

    What is everyone else eating?

Hmm so today I've had cooked breakfast (2 Quorn sausages, fried egg instead of poached for a change, and grilled tomato).

Lunch was tomato and cheddar soup. And dinner was tomato and artichoke stew.

Still in a phase of very low appetite, so ate as much of my tea as I could but ended up throwing half away. And it's one of my faves as well!

At least my toothache is now gone following the dentist yesterday, glad it went well. Can look forward to our holiday now, we are off on Sunday :T

Will be trying my hardest to find the most suitable LC food where possible, certainly won't be going mad. But no doubt I'll end up having much more carbs than usual so hope it doesn't impact me tooooo badly.

Have a great time. I put on 5lb last year on holiday, being careful but having ice cream etc, but lost it the next week so just be careful but have fun
  • Well, today I went to visit an elderly uncle I hadn't seen for years. He never married, always lived with his mum (my nan) and is not very domesticated. He hasn't cooked anything in 10 years!

Not wanting to get him out of his routine we went to Morrisons for lunch - where he goes every day. It was my first time in a Morrisons and was pretty dismayed by the chips with everything hot meals and little else.

When I asked what he usually had, it was egg on toast, egg and chips, sandwich with chips - you get the picture. With a sandwich and a couple of tins of beer on an evening he gets absolutely no veg at all, he drinks no water. It was a bit depressing, cause I know after 10 years of this, it's such a routine for him, whatever I try and attempt to do (and I live over an hour away) he wouldn't accept it. What can you do?

Anyway, I'm telling this little story thanks to PP asking what we are eating, and if I would have put what I had for lunch on any other day I would have been a bit ashamed, so here goes.....

Breakfast - 2x soft boiled eggs, a green tea, a glass of water.
Lunch - fish, chips and mushy peas  a small plate though and I left half the chips, a cup of tea. (It was only 45p more for a sticky pud, so it could have been worse!)
Dinner - (to make up for lunch) mackerel salad with 1/2 avocado, some brie and lovely fresh plum tomatoes from Aldi.
Snack - 1 sq Aldi 81% choc + green tea.

I can sympathise as I had a root canal done a few weeks ago (I didn't have toothache though), it was nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be and was very relieved.

Breakfast is always a bit of a worry on holiday, as long as there is a 'continental' section, or an 'egg station' you should be ok. But if Sheila can go to Italy and survive I'm sure you'll cope. ;) Hope you have a nice time, if there's any room for a little one in your case, count me in, it would be soooooo nice to see some sun :j
