As for snow, I'm a bit 'bah humbag' with it. We had sunshine and rain this weekend so it's all but gone now thank goodness!!0 -

Here in the good old North of England we make the best of our snow. Not had anything buildablewith for about 3 yrs so gona do it when I can
And the relief from anything else bothering me that an hour creating in the snow can do is worth it - whatever the hourLasts for a surprisingly long time
:j
All ours is gone now. Harriet's beauty - and indeed existance - has been preserved on film - which is nice. :rotfl:low carb recipe list - link on page 1 low carb support threadYou don't have any control over what life throws at you.You DO have control over how you react0 -

If you are not purists you could just put in 1/3 potato. Then lots of (2/3) turnip and the good veg listed. It may be a switching point if you cook for a family.
Every little helps. :rotfl:

Snow here was all washed away last night, including the snowman
My granddaughter came down this morning and was most upset
Hash sounds interesting but rarely see turnips anywhere, just swede.
Love corned beef and used to have it a lot as a child.
Must start being exceptionally good tomorrow and lose some weight so need a kick in the rear
Enjoy the rain and wind promised on the news tonight. We need some sun but at least it will be warmer0 -

Well, don't just sub for turnip - too harsh. Carrot will be needed and GBs are always good

My nextdoor neighbours' rabbit killed their snowman for the carrot nose :rotfl: Was sooo much fun to watch :rotfl: It was a 5ft snowman! :rotfl: Tiny rabbit killed it easy:rotfl:
If you actually like 'swede' (to me earwax in veg form) then you could use that with any necessary sweetening offset by carrot. Or, indeed, anything edible. :rotfl:

Mercy that hash sounds lovely, I,ll try that.
Had a busy day today so meals were quick and easy, brekkie was cold bacon and boiled egg.
Lunch was gg crackers with cream cheese and smoked salmon, dinner is meatballs in spicy tomato sauce with zero noodles.
I'm also going to make some flax seed and raspberry cookies :j
Does anybody have any low carb cheesecake recipes? OH loves it but I haven't worked out how to make the baseLife is short, smile while you still have teeth0 -

Also how about cooked asparagus to dip into guacamole
or

Great for potassium which most of us find a struggle to get enough of.
Sorry for delayed reply, lot going on at the moment. I don't eat fish or meat, I do eat all dairy. Like anything else apart from mushroom and celery!
I had roasted red pepper and courgette sticks with mayonnaise today for lunch - actually really surprised how tasty something so simple was. And I'm sure it filled me up even more than usual, I even missed my usual 28g afternoon almonds out.
Like the asparagus and guacamole idea thank you, I will try that. Also thinking strips of avocado would dip nicely too
Going to a family funeral tomorrow, so have to negotiate the buffet lunch. Normally I'd be fine for veggie stuff, as you can guarantee plain bread rolls, some form of potato, plus lettuce/tomato. But obviously not any good now.
Don't laugh but have boiled up 2 eggs, cut in half, and put in a resealable small plastic bag in my handbag (should keep the smells in I hope??). Then hopefully when no one's looking I can whip them out and sneak onto my buffet plate which should keep me going.0 -
Hooo! No takers :rotfl:
Has no-one else created anything in snow or otherwise?
Anyhoo, today I am making a variation on potato hash. (taterash to the northern folk like me)
I am using
Turnips, green beans, carrots (few - for colour) chillis (optional) leeks and onion.
veg stock cube, black pepper corns
Black pepper ground, turmeric, little sea salt
and when Turnips are almost cooked - chunks of corned beef.
Stir in well and simmer for just 15 mins.
Should be lovely and low carb.
Will be eating this for 3/5 lunches next week so it'd better be good
Mwah X

Not been enough snow here to create anythingIt has snowed several times but never stuck - although we went up to the Lake District on Sat to find some proper snow to sledge in. I still have the bruises, ouch!
That potato hash sounds delicious, might try it with Quorn instead of the corned beef, thanks.0
