This thread has suddenly been a lot busier lately, which is nice to see, - the more the merrier :)

Been really hectic back at work end of last week, and same this week so far. Despite being a bit stressed I've not sneaked in anything naughty, I've stuck to my almonds to snack on. Hope that continues!

    Today had:

Breakfast - 2 Quorn sausages, 1 tomato and 1 poached egg
(never thought I'd buy one of these, but just used my new one egg poacher pan! very lazy I know but I can throw the egg in and just leave it unattended which is handy in the morning rush)

Lunch - asparagus quiche with mixed salad and avocado

Dinner - paneer masala with spinach, coconut and Quorn pieces

Super full tonight, won't be bothering with snacks.

How are you doing in this cold weather? Is everyone hibernating? I have to admit that I find it harder when it is cold as salad doesn't seem that appealing :D

I think that I will make a big pot of soup but will admit to eating more nuts and chocolate than I should if I want to lose weight again this week. Why does cold weather seem to make carbs so desirable?

Yesterday I made some beef stroganoff from some stir fry strips, onion, mushrooms and sour cream and I had it with mashed cauliflower. Very nice :)

I too feel I need 'more' when it's cold.

One thing I have found to help recently is a cup of Bovril. Yup. Very tasty, warming and surprisingly satisfying :)

I suppose it's like an instant soup without the carbs. Try it.

Well I'm back to pre xmas weight! How nice :rotfl:

    hi all - lurker hear!!

wonder if somene could look at my last couple days food for me and work out what i'm ddoing wrong. I've been lc since Jan 1st - put on half lb and honestly not cheated once!!

    typical daily food -
breakfast - mushroom and cheese omlette
lunch - butternut squash soup (from pig to twig recipes)
dinner - salmon fillet, mushrooms, cabbage and cream
snack - 25g mixed nuts (no peanuts) and 2 slices bavarian cheese

breakfast - 2 poached eggs and 2 slices bacon
lunch - salad with 40g camenbert and 2 fankfurters
dinner - steak and kidney stew with creamed cauli
    snacks - nuts and cheese

I've been entering on MFD and my fat intake is usually about 55+% of my daily intake!! is this right or the reason i'm not shifting the lbs?

    thanks for any help

I can't see much wrong with that food.

Everyone is different and some find nuts or dairy can stall them.

How much water are you drinking? 1-1.5L extra water over what you normally drink may help.

Really not sure - I'm positive others will be along with other ideas soon.

    thanks.

i def need to up my water intake - and i haven't given up my tea and coffee - will that really stop all weight loss - to the point of putting it on!!?

i've not got loads to loose - 10lb - so i was exxpecting it to be fairly slow - but i need to fit back into my clothes soon!!

So, what have you stopped? If you didn't each much carbs before then the results may not be quick.

If that's the case then look to portion control or eat a bit less fat.

A half a pound on is the difference between a big wee or a poo. Maybe you haven't changed. Or you may have lost a bit.

Do you weigh in the same clothes, same time once a week or at different times? With me, it's a possible 2lbs in the same day variation

Also, measure yourself all over. Often things happen which do not show in weight.

You may be doing better than you think. ;)

Mercy is a wise lady !! I would try to drink at least 2 litres of water a day as it helps!! Your food looks fine although, personally, with so little to lose I would try to cut down on caffeine and nuts. Nitrates found in bacon / frankfurters can also slow weight loss in some people and check that they don't contain sugar.

Mercy - are you feeling any better? Well done on getting back to pre Christmas weight :T Good idea with Bovril, I will get some tomorrow :)

I am! The nasty bug has gone! :T

Vitamin C 1000mg every morning and evening (keeping me better able to beat any bug comes calling :)) plus 1.5 - 2L of water every day are helping loads. My skin is so much better with all the water (and probably the vitC) - a minor miracle! :j

I have more energy too, but to be honest - that wouldn't be difficult :rotfl:

I did 3 days of Dukan attack - with a break for illness - then 3 more. Now I'm eating lots of veg and lean meat. I know this is not 'regular' low carb but it works for me. I can keep this up for ever so if I'm now down to losing 1lb a week then so be it.

Too be quite honest, I'm happy at my current weight so will be maintaining for a bit. I can fit into my 'test' jeans so ambition attained - for now :D

The water will be kept up. The difference in my mental clarity and my skin is enough to make me happy. Also, funny this, I drink my first litre before lunch (in about 6 goes) and after lunch I start to feel thirsty after 1/2 hour :)

The more I drink, the more aware of my thirst I feel. It sometimes feels like hunger, that's why if you are unexpectedly hungry, you should have a glass of room temp water and give it 20 mins before you eat. It's a fine line at first but you do start to know which is which - mostly :rotfl:

    Big love all!

And don't forget the unexpected exercise of visiting the loo more often :rotfl: If you have a sedentary job this will improve your posture and help stop back pain too!

    Every little helps :D
