Well done boots babe, that is about right as your body has no carbs to use and you do lose water at the start so make sure you hydrate well :)

    Breakfast was a pepperami
Lunch was all you can eat Chinese, a once a month treat but we just eat the prawns and meats and egg salads. It will be over our normal carbs but we don't add it up. We do stay away from sweet and sour and sticky rib type meats though.
Dinner, nothing, too full still and the girls aren't happy as we were meant met up for a meal :o
Snack will be some philadelphia on GG cracker

Murphy I am off to check for new recipes now :j

I know that people have said you stop being hungry all the time on LC, but I'm on day 4 now and not only have I not felt hungry, but was feeling borderline physically sick at lunch when faced with food, had to force it down me (figured I had best do, in order to keep my protein up).

However, I'm on day 4 and this morning found I had lost 8lbs (so in just 3 days). Which is great, but just worried it feels a bit excessive to lose so quickly?

I was the same, it's the extra fat that filled me up, it's quite surprising how little you need to eat to fill you up. Really though, don't force yourself to eat, let your body guide you.

As pink princess has said, it's quite normal to drop quickly, but it will be water, your body needs at least a month to make that conversion from carb burning to fat burning, no doubt you will stall at some stage (as we all have done) then all of a sudden you will have another decent loss.

Have you got hemp seed in your cupboard? One of the best sources of protein for a veggie, I know H & B sell it, it's quite tasty.

If you can do some resistance exercise with all this, it will help with maintaining muscle and dropping fat quicker.

Breakfast today was celery with almond butter
    Lunch was coleslaw with ham
Dinner was pork and veg curry

Snack was 2 squares of low carb chocolate from Holland and barrett, it is called Celtic and is only 3.4g a bar :) I don't even like chocolate so that must mean that tom is due:eek:

I also buy him the balance bars from there, he prefers the dark type :)

Meant to post this last night but forgot. So yesterday I had:

Breakfast: 2 quorn sausages, poached egg, 1 grilled tomato
Lunch: Tomato cheddar soup with spinach 'bread'
Dinner: Low carb pizza with lettuce

Had planned in a snack of some tofu crisps but was just too full to bother with those.

Been looking for some alternative drinks as whilst my normal day drink is plain water, I used to drink squash in the evenings. I'd been drinking soda water instead with lemon or a lime slice, but getting a little fed up.

Found a delicious ginger presse in my local supermarket. Around 4g carb per 100ml but as it is so strong you hardly need any, and it is delicious!

Don't know if this site has been mentioned before - I've just found it - it's american, but there are lots of ideas, things like peanut/almond butter bread, cheesecake brownies, breakfast ideas, soups etc.

Hi all, may I join in please? Ive been "dieting" for over a year now (I hate the word diet because I dont plan on making it a temporary thing so I see it more of a lifestyle change) I have hypothryoid condition so I am slower at losing weight but lost over 2 stone so far :D I have a personal trainer who has got me working down my carbs while increasing protein over the last 6 weeks, must admit though the last few weeks I let slip and didnt track my food as much as I should have. Im also a member of myfitnesspal but could always do with more help if you'll have me!

Hi weeclick and well done on your weight loss so far

bootsbabe - glad that the carb flu is settling down.

Lot's of good advice and help on this thread, just ask away and someone will try to help.

I have to admit to everyone that the reason that I haven't been posting much is that I am struggling. The sciatica down both legs is really painful, I can't sleep because of it and it is making me ratty and undisciplined. There we go, I admit it :( I can't be bothered to plan meals at the moment and so just grab what is on hand and then end up with terrible wind and stomach ache. Any advice would be welcome but, until it settles down and I have had it for over 2 weeks now, I will just try to be as good as I can.

Glad that others are doing well, keep it up!!!! :)

Sorry to hear you're suffering Sheila. You poor thing :grouphug:
I believe in giving the body a bit of a shock from time-to-time. It's a very adaptable creature and whatever 'diet' we do it finds a way to get used to it, then can sometimes go into lazy mode.

Anyway, I've been dotting some fast days around lately. Not 'proper' fasting, but at least 2 very low cal. days a week: can keep to low-carb if you like. I just stick to drinks on my 'fast' days (which I call 'liquid' days), and it comes in at around 500 cals, which is the recommended maximum for the 'fast' days. I did Friday, Sunday, Tuesday and last Friday. Only had 2 meals on Saturday, by accident (busy at work), and low-carbed yesterday - though messed it up a bit right at the end of the day and ate a bit of cake and some 'normal' choc., because naughty OH nicked the square of dark choccie I was saving to have with my tea - it was next to my cup, cheeky sod!

You may have heard of it. It's supposed to put the body into repair mode and actually let it fix some stuff instead of busying itself with processing what we eat. Dr Mosley did a good Horizon program on it, but it's disappeared off youtube now :( There was also an article in some rag with Dom Jolly singing it's praises. Has several health benefits apparently, as well as causing weight loss.

We've still got 2 grapefruits left from when I did the '3 day diet' (a fad diet that someone mentioned on here a few weeks back, but I quite like it, and hey, it's only 3 days :D ) a couple of weeks back, so I'm doing that again this week. I'll fast Friday, and possibly Sunday if I feel like it. Exercise is my aim this week. At least 3 half hour sessions I'm hoping for... (where's that cute praying smiley gone.. another smiley I miss), because I'm very sad that I've let that go...

Maybe give it a try, but either way hope you're feeling better soon :)
