Hi Shiela
Mushroom soup sounds nice, any chance of the recipe please?Life is short, smile while you still have teeth0 -
Morning all. Have been lurking but had nothing meaningful to add recently.
On the subject of coatings for things, I had some almond crackers (recipe on front page) left over, so I thought I would wizz them up to see what they would be like. Used them yesterday to coat some pieces of turkey breast and they worked really well as you've still got the flavour of the rosemary, onion granules and cayenne. Nice to have something crunchy with some nice smooth squash soup.
Hope everyone is in good spirits0 -
Breakfast today was toast with salami and cheese, the 1.9g a slice bread
Lunch was a Mcdonalds burger without the bun and a handful of brazil nuts
Dinner is sausage and cabbage casserole
Snack will be a vodka before bed, had a tough day at work and need to be in very early
So yes Murphy, I will be in good spirits :rotfl:
I hope you are good aswell :A, I hope all posts don't have to meaningful or I would get bannedLife is short, smile while you still have teeth0 -
Hi
I used the stalks and peelings from the chestnut mushrooms that I had in the stroganoff to save wasting them
Recipe -
mushroom bits as above
small peeled and chopped onion
1 clove garlic
Vegetable stock
Parsley
Cream
Fry off the onion and garlic in a little olive oil until pale. Add mushroom bits and cook for further 5 minutes. Use stock to cover and cook for 15 minutes to let flavours infuse. Add parsley or any other herb that you like and wilt down. Blitz and add cream to taste. Season.

Hi
I have been looking at Christmas food and notice that they have some great offers in Aldi
http://catalog.aldi.com/core/main.php?&SITEID=d9539&PROJECTNR=10797&
So what are we all having and has anyone any good recipes?
I always try to visit a Christmas market to get in the spirit and there are many all over the country this year. I am going to visit the one on the Thames embankment + I am taking my grandchildren to Birmingham just before Christmas to visit Cadbury World and the market there. Cadbury World courtesy of Tesco rewards, £29 Premier Inn and fares under £20 return for all of us courtesy of railcard. :xmassmile Both kids get a free breakfast as well if I pay £8.25 and the breakfasts are good!
Have a good day.0 -
Hi
I am off to the fruit and veg shop soon so I will be getting mushrooms to try your soup.
That will be lunch, dinner will be smoked haddock and romanescu in cream and cheese sauce.
Breakfast was a pepperami.
I'm also going to make some coleslaw today and roast a gammon joint for lunches tomorrow.
I haven't really thought about xmas yet

We're having a roast turkey crown with all the trimmings. I intend to do without the potatoes, parsnips & yorkshire puds. I have however bought a dairy free/gluten free cheesecake as a treat for dessert. I intend to make a lactofree chicken liver pate and if I've time I will make some low carb chocolate brownies. I want to make a 'Molly cake' which is a dairy free, gluten free fruit cake. It has no added sugars in it, only the sugar from the dried fruit. I know its not low carb but it will be 'clean eating' and a treat. I am stock piling 70%+ chocolate so that I will have something to munch on whilst the rest of the family have their chocolates & sweets. At tea time we usually have corned beef & potato pie, cold meat, salads and nibbly things like crisps and cheesy footballs. This is followed by cakes, chocolate biscuits & sweet nibbles etc. I will stick to the cold meat and salad. I'm usually too tired by that time and don't feel like eating anyway.Weight loss 0/2st
