daska - so sorry that the wheat problem is affecting you but glad that you felt able to post. Good luck with the tribunal. My grandson got into his preferred school on 3rd round after much canvassing and prayer.

durham_mim - well done:j You put me to shame ;)

Daska - I admit the DLA form and the Tribunal are a nightmare. I gave up in the end. Apparently I'm not disabled enough to qualify. My main problem is lack of medical evidence. GP although sympathetic not very understanding about how ME affects me. I no longer have a Consultant as there are none who specialise in ME only Rhuematology.

Sheila - I do NOT put you to shame, you have done better than any of us here and you have had a very difficult few weeks so don't be hard on yourself and don't put yourself down.

I will probably fall of the wagon tomorrow as I'm going to my mums 70th Birthday meal and we are going to a Dosa restaurant. I will view it as a real treat and just go straight back to Low Carbing straight afterwards, after all it is only one meal.

Last night I had 3 slices of Genius bread toasted because I was too tired to make anything else. I did not enjoy them and will only use that as a last resort in the future.

    hiya everyone

well, i am finally below 10 stone again! :D I would like to lose a few more lbs but not worried about it as if I lose more than a few lbs I will look ill so this is a nice weight for me (would be nice to have a flat belly but that is never going to happen), I really need to find the right level of carbs now that I dont put on weight but also doesnt effect my asthma. And doesnt make me crave carbs!

    Hope everyone is ok.

Yayyyyy, Mercy's back.:j:j We missed you, glad you enjoyed your hols.

Now get back onto that straight and narrow path!!!:rotfl:

I miss Daska....come back Daska please.

The Mercy's back thing isn'y quite there but daska does seem to be back here! YAY! XX

I lost 2 of the 4 lbs and I - to be honest - aren't really LC. Well untill today, anyway :)

Being good from tomorrow at least. Though not bad for the last week if you discount chocolate. :EasterBun I'm doing it properly tomorrow :)

I have a big Bonfire night coming up next weekend. I'm taking a big bag o roasted veg and will eat meat and veg but I will be doing lots of alcohol too. Will keep it to voddi lime soda, misel, so hopefully not too bad after a week of declining. :o

To be honest, I don't care that much. There's been so much going on - and will be doing so for at least 3 weeks yet - that just bubbling under will do enough for me.

I've not caught up but can tell you that right now I love every low carber!

The ones who've kept it goin through the mean times get massive sloppy LC kisses from me!

Love you but will still be posting about 2x a week ish at best. Getting kittens and so much to do before then :rotfl:

Love all low carbers - everywhere! :j:beer::T

Well done nutty babe. I too am around the right weight but do have a slight sticking out belly!! What are the best exercises to do to get a flat belly? Anyone? Murphy-this is your department isn't it!!

I posted this on the weight watchers thread but i think this will appeal to the low carbers and bread haters more. As anyone who knows me I am always suspicios of the research when there is financial interest.
Who I am is not important. What I do is.

Rain stopped play! it's been a lovely day in the garden today, just gone cold with the rain.

Marrbett your question must be number one on the all-time fitness questions, and most of the time 'sit-ups' will be the obvious, but useless, reply.

All the sit-ups in the world won't make a blind bit of difference if there is a layer of fat in front of the muscle. In fact, most sit-ups are pretty ineffective, as they target one muscle group, and there are around 20 that make up the 'core' area that we tend to think of as the 'stomach' area.

Believe it or not press-ups are more effective! Anything that involves using the body as a whole - like press-ups - plank, bridge, squats, balancing exercises, lunges etc, all use the core. Just make sure whatever exercise it is that your stomach muscles are pulled in tight, that includes walking, making dinner, gardening, etc; always consider and maintain a good posture; all this helps.

Everything I've said in the past about stretching, side and waist exercises, keeping supple, all plays a part.

Right ho murphy, I'll keep on with the press ups then and maybe add some squats if I can. I try to tuck in my tummy muscles, but end up holding my breath and forgetting to breath!!!!

I've been squeezing my buttocks too, in the hope that my butt will become tight again. What a lol!!!:rotfl::rotfl:

i used to have a book that claimed to give you the workout for a flat belly. that also said sit ups alone dont work as you have to get rid of the fat so no matter how toned your stomache muscles were, they wouldnt show unless fat gone. i think it said you should do half hour of workout ie jogging or something and then do the different stomache ones.

well, i have had a higher than usual carb tea. I had sausage casserole and the veg i put in was onion, carrots, green beans and peas  was very nice though. not had peas for over a year :p it also had pumpkin in and i have the seeds of 3 pumpkins drying out ready to roast tomorrow. should i put seasoning on before roasting them?

Oh roasted pumpkin seeds lovely :) I would just add a touch of oil and salt.

I am busy preparing my first ever low carb buffett for Monday. Any ideas would be great.

Fritatta wedges, dips with crudites, celery and cheese, low carb cheesecake, sausage skewers, salad, coronation chicken.
Just suggestions for a cold buffet. If you want hot for bonfire night then soup, sausages, mashed swede, celeriac chips, salad, spiced nuts
