Hi, I am a lurker/newbie
With a family wedding in 4 weeks and dresses looking awful on me it was time for action, seeing your fantastic results I cut out crap and bread pasta potatoes and rice.
First week nothing! Not a lb.
Second week 6lb
and day 4 of week 3 another 2 lb so 8lb in17 days, is that too much?
Just yesterday started craving chocolate but refrained. Struggling for breakfast as my body seems to have a aversion to eggs.
I really have only had lots of veg and some meat for 2.5 weeks, I did make some spicy bean burgers and humous oops.
I have not done any extra excersize as I am always busy as a childminder and cleaning, washing and ironing as we have a holiday cottage.
Following this thread now but don't think I can live without bread long term and fear the weight will go back on.
I was creaping into a size 18 mainly 16 And would like to be 12-14.Owner of a cute cottage in the North York Moors :j0 -

Hello and welcome!
Well done on your weight loss! But do make sure you're eating enough and including fat in your diet (from the meat, or cheese, cream etc).
I don't post on here very often, but there are lots of people who post up recipe and meal ideals so that hopefully you'll be able to wean yourself off bread and anything else you might be struggling with. Maintaining this way of eating for a while can lead to you losing the taste for sweet things, bread etc - which is a big help!
Good luck0 -
I have a quick question if anyone's about
I've been doing fairly low-carb consistently for just over a year now. Lost about 3 stone, although really need to lose another 3 ideally. Have been at a stall for at least 2 months and am getting rather annoyed at it!
But the latest thing I've found is that in the last few weeks I've been getting really bloated and feel like my stomach is constantly churning - no idea where this has come from, I've been drinking the same amount of fluids, not changed my diet drastically etc etc.
Can anyone shed any light on possible causes and what I can do about this? Or on the stall for that matter

sweaty betty - I stalled for 3 months earlier this year so upped my carb allowance for a couple of weeks to jolt my system and then went down to 25 - 30 for a couple of weeks. It seemed to help and I lost 6lb in 2 weeks after that. I am upping again at the moment as life has been a bit hectic and will cut down Monday week again. I would like to lose another stone and a half by Christmas, if possible, and then will just try to maintain that. It is harder now to lose as I have been doing this for 16 months but I am much more relaxed, having lost 6+ stone. With regards to bloating I now find that anything with sugar, gluten, too much coffee or fizzy drinks does this to me. I think that our bodies adjust and then react if we then make changes.
saving-mad- hi and welcome
If you can't do without bread then there are some recipes on page 1.

Well done on the weight loss so far :T. How about greek yogurt with a few berries for breakfast if you are fed up with eggs or, depending on your allowance, an almond pancake with berries and cream? You weight loss is fine as some of it will be water anyway. I lost 1 stone in my first 2 weeks and didn't suffer.
sistercas - same ideas for breakfast as above. I even have a lump of cheese with cucumber sometimes for a change and allow myself porridge once or twice a week as well.
It a is somewhat trial and error as you go along, in my experience, as some things seem to stall people and not others. It is also finding recipes and meals that you enjoy and are also healthy so that you can maintain it.0 -
Hi all, everyone feeling better today, although had some shocking news yesterday about my cousin who lives in Australia. He was tragically killed in a motorbike accident. He was just abit older than me(mid forties). We used to see him often when we were children, but went our separate ways as adults, but its affected me so much!
Enjoy each day folks, make the most of each other!!

Sorry to hear that marrbett. I think death of a younger person affects us deeply partly because it's unexpected and goes against what the 'norm' should be.
Keep strong. xHerman - MP for all!0 -
