Yes its a low carb thread. the word is "low" not zero or lowest.
I have posted 3 recipes, a starter , main and desert Combined they would make a nice low carb meal full of flavour and nutrients but because I didnt source the lowest possible options I am now a troll.
All people here are different and any post unless otherwise stated is likely to be a generalisation. In the same way that the body is not really suited to a high carb diet unless you are a real sports person. The same is true about an ultra low carb diet.
Some posters here may be overweight and sedentary and in this case seeing a diet that restricts carbs but lets fat go free may be a recipe for disaster. remember a gram of fat has twice the calories of a gram of protein or carbohydrate and it still remains a fact that whatever diet you are on if you absorb more calories than you burn you are going to put on weight. That is simple 1st year physics.
For what its worth, I agree entirely with you. I don't think you are a troll. I hope you stay and it all calms down.
I enjoy reading your posts and I'm also with you in that this is a low carb diet support thread. If its possible, perhaps there could be a new thread for zero carb diets? That way, those who look down on others for having a baked bean on the odd day off, might find their blood pressure going back to normal.0 -
I hope all those who are leaving are just having a rest for a night and come back tomorrow. I am certain that AB is not deliberately tyring to upset anybody. I respect some of his views and its always good to have another angle on things.
I think this thread has been invaluable to not only myself but many others. I would have long given up low carbing, had it not been for this place.
I am also a relatively moderate person. I don't feel strongly when someone has a carb... I think we all need a break from time to time.
As long as we are all on goal, then if there is a post you don't agree with, simply don't thank them.. make your point and move on. There is no need for anybody to leave.
This is our own little corner of goodness. Lets not darken that! Please have a rest and come back tomorrow.

I don't drink tea, unfortunately. I'll have coffee with cream and half a sweetener (heaven, coffee with cream.mmmmmm can't remember the last time I had one of those). I'm liking this diet more daily.
Also, does anyone know where I can get almond butter from please? Is it just a normal supermarket buy?
I think Holland & Barrat sell almond butter.0 -

I commented on baked beans being full of sugar, but I'd definitely not look down on anyone for eating them. I just know if I ate them, thy would send my blood sugar sky high.
I'm only human though and do occasionally eat a not sow low carb meal.0 -
Three people have thanked absolute bounder for a post claiming that eating fat instead of carbs will make you fat. Anyone who knows anything about low carb eating knows that that is not what happens. This is clearly no longer a low carb diet support thread, that is why people are leaving.
Jerry, I am not no carb, I don't even count carbs, I just know what not to eat. I have had no problem with people's higher carb ideas in the past because they understood the principle of low carb eating. Bye.0 -
I think there must be something in the air today, another thread I'm on is having ago at each other.
This is a thread for folks who want to restrict their carb intake, for whatever reason. Everyone is welcome as long as they are interested in low carbing, not in trying to 'convert' us all to another way of thinking.
I don't think anyone is zero carbing(that would be just meat wouldn't it???), we are all doing our best to eat LC,that's all!!!0 -

But that wasnt exactly what i said was it?Who I am is not important. What I do is.0 -
This thread was always going to be a troll magnet. You were successful and often at the top of the Health board due to frequent postings. This thread seems to have a bit of an extremist 'Mother's Meeting' type reputation these days, and you can't blame ab for that.
Well, it likely wont be now.absolutebounder wrote: »

Well,
That person Several have left, who do you mean?
"low" not zero or lowest. Quote me posts where 'zero' or 'lowest' carb is said to be the best.

This has been so thoroughly de-bunked I'm surprised you mention it.Jerryjerryjerry wrote: »

Again, quote me the quotes which suggest zero carbs is good. Yawn.
Like I say, it'll all be good again, eventually :rotfl:0 -
Menu for today!
Breakfast- Melon and banana( no eggs/bacon in the house!)
Lunch-Avocado salad with brie and beef, with pine nuts
Dinner-Prawn stir-fry
No chocolate today:j:j:j(so far!)
