Thank you but, for her, it really was a blessed release as she hadn't spoken for a year and was sunk in deep alzheimers. She died relatively peacefully from a chest infection. My ex did go ahead and have his hip done yesterday, despite everything, and will hopefully be able to walk a little better. He has found it difficult as she was not the Mum he knew anymore :(

My friend has just died too. She was only just turned 50. Sadly she never had her troubles to seek, they always seemed to hunt her down.

We were bridesmaids at each others weddings and there was a lot of water under the bridge. We did a lot together, not all of it above board. (We stole tatties from the farmer's field :o:D).

We went our separate ways years ago due to a bit of a fall out over her drinking but I always missed her and the laughs we used to have.

I hope she's at peace now.

(((hugs))) Sheila, my MIL also has dementia and my OH finds it difficult at times. Despite the dementia she is very healthy physically. The worst bit is she is still aware of the effects of the dementia and whenever I visit tries very hard to hide it.

Snap! :D I had mine after sausages though :o

If you leave them frozen and mash them into the cream a bit, it makes like an ice-cream. Might not be everyone's cup of tea for breakfast though :rotfl:

dessert after breakfast - excellent! :D and i will definatly try that next time i forget to get the berries out of freezer (so tomorrow morning then!!!!!!! :rotfl:)

Sistercas - i had a bad day as well. i had pizza tonight :( and beer! :naughty:

How sad, its no age to die is it. Take care of yourself, grief hits you at the most unexpected times.

As we're confessing, I must own up to a flake (or two!) this afternoon. Ooops.
