Ask me what I've just done...go on .....ask me. (Apologies in advance for the length and also for the fact it's not exactly low carb related. )
Ok, I'll tell you.....I wouldn't move to let a woman into a car parking space beside me. :rotfl:
I shall explain.....:D
Two of my 'issues' in life are fairness and kindness. I loathe unfairness with a vengeance, I spend my whole life trying to make things fair for other people be they family, friends or strangers. I also often put myself out in RL to show kindness to people and I hate when people biatch or snipe especially for no good reason.
However, often the end result is I end up being unfair to myself. I'm not often on the receiving end of people putting themselves out for me so I end up feeling things are unfair sometimes. This builds up and I then start to feel aggrieved, mildly stressed and generally irked. I 'settle' these feelings with food (or wine). (I have other reasons for eating too...we're just beginning. :rotfl:)
Hypno chap talked about this kind of situation in depth (more related stuff that I don't want to go into here as it's more personal) and explained how I need to deal with my feelings before I can deal with my arm to mouth action.:D
Anyway, I can't actually remember everything he said to me but the gist of it was about making me a stronger person who was able to be fairer to myself and less accepting of others whose actions may affect me negatively. He emphasised how it was ok to sometimes put myself or my needs before others and that doing that wouldn't make me a selfish person. (I also hate selfishness.)
(He also worked on making me more pro-active about things and less couch potato-ish iyswim.)
Fast forward to today.....as I said earlier, I'm up and at them early, after another good night's sleep, feeling strangely calm verging on happy (usually feel wound up) and off I go at 9am to do the shopping.
As it's early on a Sunday morning, the car park isn't busy. Spaces everywhere. I parked close to the store entrance. When I came out, a large 4 x 4 type thing had parked on one side of me, very close.
The space on the other side was empty. My trolley was at the side space/rear of the car and I'm unloading. A woman pulled up and started revving her car loudly, I'm assuming she wanted me to move my trolley so she could park next to me. If she had parked there, I would have had little or no manouvering room to reverse out, so I ignored her and kept unpacking.
(Bear in mind there were spaces everywhere, it's not like I was stopping her from parking, I was just stopping her from making things more difficult for me.)
She kept revving then eventually gave up and swung into the next row and parked in front of me.
Now, this may seem like nothing to you, but my usual way of dealing with something like this would have been to immediately jump to attention, apologise for getting in the way and doing all I could to help her into the space despite the fact I would then have made it more difficult for myself to get out.
I'm now home and happy and have no urge to 'comfort' myself with food since I didn't enable a situation that would have led to this.
Mind you, maybe the woman is royally annoyed she couldn't park where she wanted and has now gone home to eat herself calm.
I don't care. :rotfl:
Well done you0 -

Chameleon - Thank you for that, it's interesting but as I understand it the people who 'know' don't rate the accuracy of that kind of testing. Also the recommendation is not due to kidney stones but the CFS/ME/FM as my GP has a patient who has seen remarkable improvement on it. At the moment I'm having to take everything at face value and I've downloaded the most up to date lists - unfortunately the simple list gives very little indication of serving size so I'm going to need to delve around a bit in the excel spreadsheet. As mentioned above it's not really the cinnamon that's the biggy for me, it's the fact that a cinnamon mocha (i.e. chocolate and coffee with a bit of cinnamon) is essentially my evening anti-snack routine - I generally eat supper with DS2 at about 4.30 and have this after he goes to bed and I've found it stops me munching on other things. So I need a substitute and I'm a bit perplexed as to what that can be. (I've tried carob and it just doesn't do it for me )Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

Yep. Thigh mince. :rotfl: Never seen that before myself either. As thigh is tastier i grabbed it all and put it in my trolley. Will let you know if it's nice as I hope. Turkey mince normally makes ones hands smell weird so doing that first in the hope it wears off into the beef and the pork

What a fool. I have vinyl gloves so used them throughout and my hands now simply smell of me. I don't know why I didnt do it before. :rotfl:

i was just going to make it like normal toad in the hole but replace the flour with ground almonds.
As its just for me i will use a bit of milk/egg mix from the normal one and just keep adding ground almonds until it is about the same consistancy as the normal one. I think its on my meal plan for Wednesday so will let you know how it goes.0 -

Yep. I'm sure 100%.
See, WE know Grey Malkin. So knew she meant nicely replete rather than having eaten too much :rotfl:

In the spirit of 'game'
If someone who was anorexic said the same
If someone who was a liar said the same
If someone who was bulimic said the same
If someone who simply needed online friends said the same
Gladly someone who's values have been constant said the same.
Yes I DID know what she meant. :rotfl:
Lighten up and find more interesting places to argue and cause interest. Pretty solid here :rotfl:
Big love

Questioning things helps learning. Words alone only convey about 7% of the message but the metalanguage hidden may help identify a higher percentage of the true meaning.Who I am is not important. What I do is.0
