Hi, very excited to report that I have this tub, got one for myself and dh, and love my salads in it!! I actually use the little tub inside for my seeds, but the main tub can hold loads!!! My dh doesn't get it at all, how can it give me such pleasure!!!!

Nice to catch up with you all, hope the new week starts well for all.xx

i was just going to make it like normal toad in the hole but replace the flour with ground almonds.

As its just for me i will use a bit of milk/egg mix from the normal one and just keep adding ground almonds until it is about the same consistancy as the normal one. I think its on my meal plan for Wednesday so will let you know how it goes. :D

Please do. I hope it works. Good luck:T
  • Mercy - thanks hun :kisses::grouphug::A I was feeling a bit over sensitive yesterday, and nearly took my bat and ball home :D

Alias - well done on the moral @ss-kicking in the car park :T

Daska - thanks for the info on low oxalate diets. I've passed it onto a friend who has all sorts of gastric issues, and she thinks it might be worth a try.

Have a good lc day everyone.

same here , DD1 goes to uni next saturday and its been a whirlwind getting everything organised, i will miss her so much we do everything together :( i think it has had an effect on my eating too as i have had a real carb fest :o

Which Uni is she going to? Mine is going to Wales, the other end of the country to where we are. This is the second time I've done this and it doesn't get any easier. In fact it is harder this time. With DD1 I was in ignorance when we deposited her at Uni. I thought 'oh it will be ok, at least I'll see her during the hols which are quite long' On the journey home OH quickly dispelled that idea by telling me DD1 had effectively left home, she would have to work during hols and so wouldn't be home as often as I was expecting. This time I know what to expect, DD2 is further away and it will be even harder for her to get home. DD2 is the one I worry about the most. She has mild asthma and food allergies, and is the quiet one, so I guess I've always been more protective of her. Her term does not finish until 24th December so it may be she won't get home for Christmas:(

Feeling really emotional and weepy last few days and have snapped at everyone at some point. I will come to terms with it but it will take time.

I don't have anyone going to Uni but I feel for you lot who do.

We talk as if it's a given that our daughter will be going eventually (she's very nearly 13) but tbh she's not the most academically gifted of kids so it's debatable what will happen in the future.

Either way I think I'll chuck her out at 18 anyway.:rotfl:

    Just kidding. ;):D
Herman - MP for all! :)
  • I just had pointy cabbage with my dinner and I can confirm it's nice - and, well, cabbagey :rotfl:

I also had stuffed chicken thighs, portobello mushrooms, carrots, broccoli, cauli and green beans in a cheese sauce.

    Well stuffed now :D

Went and bought some of that pointy cabbage yesterday from Lidl together with some gammon steaks at 30% off., I haven't tried the cabbage yet, but I am looking forward to it. Have never seen pointy cabbage before, so lord knows where I've been.

jerry - good to know that you are ok. Hard to give up smoking and change eating. How's life?

Hi Sheila, you are sweet, asking after everyone. Life is ok. Got 2nd job interview tomorrow. Smoking again. But hey ho.

Back low carbing. Yesterday, went to lidl and bought some cabbage and tomatoes etc which were on offer.

Last night's dinner was scrumt. I had roast pork with creamy leaks and roasted carrots. Made mustard mash for the boys (oh and step son). They loved it. I have to admit, I did sneak a spoonful of the mash, but there you go! Not much willpower me. I think if I lived alone, it would be a lot easier to stick to low carb forever. But with my husband scoffing his face with chips and stuff, its still sometimes hard to resist the odd one!

Money wise, we are brassic. Have sold all my gold and am paying the bills with that money. Now, starting to list other items that I don't use much ie.. my broken bose speaker which should fetch a hundred pounds on ebay which will pay the council tax for this month.. and other items.

If I don't get a job by novermber, we have the option of selling our expensive (in my opinion), car and buying a cheap 200 pound run-around.
  • OMG! Alisajo! I used to be like this. I don't know how I changed, could be the CBT, but I would always apologise if someone bumped into me, etc. etc. Instead of waiting for THEM to apologise.. I hate car park situations. What I do now, to avoid them is park the furthest away. In my mind, i'm getting more exercise! Also, its easier to get in and out when you're not trying to fit into a space between parked cars.

Thanks for that post of your's! It made me smile.
  • Alias and Mercy inspired me too. Yesterday, I de-fuzzed! Boy I was like a jungle all over! lol.

Also, and this is VERY MSE! My hair had got down to past my shoulders and I haven't been to a hairdresser for over a year.. and I could not possibly afford one at the moment so.... I went on Youtube and found a video that shows you how to cut your own hair into a bob. I did a poneytail and chopped the poney tail off! Its worked a treat. Feel quite glam this morning. I am going to do my nails a pale colour in readiness for my interview tomorrow.

Today, i've had 2 coffees and i'm drinking water for the rest of the day.

    Will have :

    Snacks, yoghurt and carrot sticks.
Lunch: gammon steak with either mushrooms or cabbage or both.
    Dinner: Fish with spinnach.
  • Helloooo :hello:

Just a quickie as I have to collect DD2 from school in a minute.

Unexpectedly spent a lovely couple of hours with my pregnant Niece today - did a fair bit of walking (she's trying to bring on labour!!) & walked up yet another steep set of steps - it doesn't seem to get any easier as I'm still huffing & puffing!! :o

    Meals for today:

    B1 - greek yoghurt & flaxseed
    B2- bacon & eggs
L - 2 buttered GG crispbreads with cheese
D - HM chilli with cauli rice, sprouts & green beans

Will also have the last of the HM veggie soup when I come back from the school run.

Exercise - walking & climbing steps ;) Maybe another 20 minute walk with hubby later. Wall push-ups.

Hope everyone is well - will catch up later
